I bookmarked this spot as I was eager to try out the new lounge in my area. It is really nice on the inside. There is a sitting area/game room, bar tables with plenty of bar stools. They also have a seating along the wall which is really comfortable. There are several drink specials posted on the wall. We tried the raspberry spritzer and the Caipirinha. The raspberry spritzer was really good. My Caipirinha was a little strong, but not bad. We also ordered 5 pounds of crawfish for $25 which were actually pretty good. read more

The Volcano Room is located in Seabrook in the space previously occupied by Coffee Oasis. I was sad to see the latter go because they offered more coffee artistry from cute baristas, and the sandwiches were scrumptious. It was a nice alternative to Starbuck's, but I digress... I visited the Volcano Room late on a Tuesday night, and it was not very busy. I noticed a red Ferrari among the other cars outside which, for me at least, always imparts the idea of a middle-aged egotistical prick lurking inside. The first thing I noticed was that all ten or so patrons were at the bar--no one was sitting at the large orange upholstered half booth that runs along the front blackout window. Also, there is a chill dimly lit room off to the side that has a huge fur-like rug on one wall and nice leather upholstered club sofas and chairs--but no one was sitting in there either. I was expecting the place to be more like a true tiki bar but the only things along those lines were a bright neon 'okole maluna' sign and a nifty chalkboard menu with a beautifully drawn mermaid. 'Okole maluna' means 'bottoms up' in Hawaiian. I opted for the nifty half booth, and a waitress came immediately to my table. There were some interesting things on the menu, but since I had already eaten, I am unable to report on the food offerings. I ordered the Seabrook Swizzle which had green Chartreuse, falernum, ango, and juice. It came out in a medium sized Collins glass, looking frosty green with a drizzle of red on the top, garnished with orange peel. The bar tender was a bit heavy-handed on the bitters, as evidenced by the aftertaste and all the red drippings on the cocktail napkin, so I sent it back. I told the waitress about the bitterness, but explained that the bartender did not have to remake it. She removed the glass, and I could hear some mutterings and grumblings from the alleged mixologist. The replacement was easier on the bitters and slightly sweeter; the waitress said she had added more simple syrup, but clearly this was a complete redo. I appreciated that among the drink menu's recipes were less common ingredients like falernum, texas pecan orgeat, and elderflower, so I expected a $13 cocktail to have no simple syrup (but this is just a minor detail). I will definitely come back to try a more traditional drink like a mai-tai or grog, and perhaps pair it with an order of cuban sliders, but if you are looking for true tiki style digs then you may be disappointed. read more

I went with two of my friends on a Saturday night and it was packed. They had a DJ playing good music, people were on the dance floor, and the decor was awesome. I gave 2 stars because of the drinks. Because all the other reviews say they are awesome, maybe I just went on a bad night? But for a tiki themed bar, you should be able to make cocktails. My friends both got different cocktails that were beautiful, but tasted like they just put rum in and topped with ginger ale. I was a bartender, so I know how to make mai tais and mojito s, so when my drink tasted like Pho over ice, i had to send it back and ask for something else instead... especially when it was 12 dollars. So I got a mojito and I drank it but it was very bad and the bartender gave me a lot of attitude about it. Would not recommend. read more

Been here about three times. Was excited since it is a unique concept in the Clear Lake area. Today six of us were having drinks at one of the few six seat tables. We were there for about an hour and a half when the bartender informed us the table was actually reserved for the night and asked us to move. We asked why there was no reserved sign on the table and she stated that it was "her bad". Low energy place with lame people and lame music. We came for a birthday party and we were all surprised at how lame and bored all the people in here looked at 12am on a Saturday night. Bartenders are so slow to give you a beer and not knowledgable on their liquor or shots. We won't return..too lame with low energy people. read more

Been here 6 times and love the atmosphere and drinks, BUT... The pulled-pork sliders are EXTREMELY INCONSISTENT - half the time the meat has been moist and delicious, and half the time it's been dry and tasteless. Knowing how good the sliders can be (should be) is terribly disappointing when they don't live up to expectations. The owner has a great imagination relative to the food offerings, but he doesn't appear to run a very tight ship. Also, I went there tonight (Monday) to watch MNFootball as advertised on their Facebook page...instead of football, "The Voice" (without sound) dominated the TV. Poor advertising and poor oversight of the kitchen will sink this place before next summer if the owner doesn't become more involved in EVERY DAY OPERATIONS! read more

Loved this place! You would never know it from the outside but this place rocks. Good cocktails at reasonable prices (I got a pina colada $10, a manhattan $7, and Jim Beam on the rocks $7 and they were all solid choices). The main room has a solid ambiance and our server was quick and friendly. They had a DJ (Saturday night) that was playing decent enough music for folks to have fun dancing. There is also a side room for a party and another side room with skee ball, Pacman, and some other arcade games. Found a hidden gem, of course through Yelp. Came here with a special lady. She had a Daiquiri and I had the Capirininha and their version of an Old Fashioned. Each drink seemed to have a certain twist. Which we enjoyed. The ambience is "chill". It feels like we went off on a getaway without getting away too far from the city. Brand new place that will become my new chill spot on lazy Sundays. I heard about this place through Facebook and I'm always looking for an excuse to drink mimosas so we gave it a try. The mimosas were delicious and on Sundays they do $2 champagne and $3 mimosas with multiple juice choices. Their food menu also caught my eye (Hawaiian theme). I'll just say that for someone who has never liked Mac and cheese, theirs is unbeatable for sure AND you can add pulled pork! I'm excited to go back and try their drunken cinnamon rolls made with champagne cream cheese icing (Sundays)! We were the only ones in the place (they had just opened that day) and the owner came to introduce himself. He was very nice and showed great hospitality. He was also quick to respond through their Facebook page with any question I had. Overall great place with good vibes. Only reason i didn't give a 5 star is because I would like to see more food items on the menu (I'm a foodie at heart). I'm sure they will in the future, they are just newly opened. read more

Literally the best tiki bar in Clear Lake, but not because it's the only Tiki bar in Clear Lake. The bar tenders here are excellent. If you'd didn't know better you'd think you were in the loop. Ordering on menu or off the drinks are delicious and well balanced. The décor is smooth and the service prompt. Come on CL we need to keep this place alive. This is our 5th trip in and service has gone down hill. We just can't get a drink!...There was all of 4 people in the place when we walked in the door and went to the bar passing the bartender on the way in. He flashed a smile, so I know he saw us. He started putting an order in the computer and then proceeded into the back never acknowledging us, we got up and left. Wow...really???...last Saturday night we couldn't get a drink either. So, I went to the Volcano Room (in Seabrook) tonight. And, I literally had experienced the world's crappiest bar service ever!! I sat there at the bar for a whole 31 mins. without the Bartender (Bridgette) giving me any kinda service that entire time. And, when I tried to politely ask her why she blatantly & rudely refused to give me service the whole time I was sitting there. She responded: "Cuz, u told me at the beginning that u were only drinking water for now and a CFS Dinner". So, then I went on to ask her: " How come you literally didn't even ask me at least 1X during this entire time I was sitting here if I wanted a drink or something?" She, responded to me by just laughing at me, smirking at me, and talking very rudely & very demeaning to me for the next couple of minutes. Suffice to say, she finally apologized to me. And, then she asked me if I need anything else. And, I told her that I did want a drink. But, since she didn't ask me the entire time I was sitting there for 31 whole mins. I told her NVM And, then when I asked for a 2nd glass of water. She finally actually apologized to me. I don't understand how she can give such unsolicited terrible service like that!!! read more

Not to be a party pooper but I live across the street and I can hear this place blasting music all night on the weekend! I am 38 weeks pregnant and trying to manage the VERY limited amounts of sleep I am able to get... would be nice to lower the volume just a little bit. I'm sure if I can hear it loud and clear across the street inside my apartment that the guests inside can hear just fine as well! read more
