I was in a group of eight who went to VoKo for three+ hours on a Saturday night. We reserved a medium room, and it was more than big enough...and also very clean, comfortable, and cool! We sang MANY songs, ate MANY snacks, and drank MANY drinks. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The YouTube pairing system works like a dream. A day later, all of my friends are still texting about how much fun we had and planning our next trip to VoKo next month. I absolutely positivity highly recommend VoKo.

This place had such good service! We started at the bar with Cody and he made such amazing drinks for us. We tried the girl crush and boy crush and they crushed! And the food was yummy! And the service from Carlton was super helpful! Definitely would recommend to friends!

My friends and I had so much fun here! We all liked the bar tender he was super friendly and he got in a conversation with my best friend about raves. The room was a good size and we just connected to YouTube since we thought it'd be easier. This was a great experience.

This place gets five stars for our Karaoke King Carlson. Give him a raise instantly. In fact, he should own the place. Hell, give him the key to this city of Irvine. My firstborn will be named in his honor. Amen

A co-worker of mine recommended this place. Our group was worried that a neighboring karaoke lounge would fill up fast. Thankfully, we were able to secure a reservation days before a major holiday weekend. So, you would need to call the place first to secure a room - I highly recommend securing a room as this place will get busy in the later hours on the weekend. You would need to call and give them your credit card number; it's pretty old school, but the gal from the lounge was very patient and understanding. The actual place itself is a cool vibe. I love how every room is themed to different colors. We were in a green room that was right next to the bar. My friend ordered tequila from the bar and he liked it. My friends ordered water, but the bartender was only there every now and then. So we had to wait until the bartender was there to get a cup of water. Song selection is very Korean dominant. I do appreciate they had some Tagalog songs, Western (English) popular songs, J-pop, and anime / video games. However, if you are in the mood for showtunes, it's not on there. There were song English songs we wanted, but they were not listed on there either. J-pop songs were tricky to navigate and even then, some popular J-pop songs were not listed on there (ie: Plastic Love, Stay with Me, etc). The remote would have been hard to navigate if we didn't have our Korean friend with us. We were able to figure it out. However, we did notice that there were songs on the machine that were not listed in the book. Every room got one song selection book; we had to request another one since we had a group of six. I would have given this three stars because of the song selection, but I loved the service and the vibes of the lounge. Otherwise, if you're just looking for vibes and singing your heart out, this ain't a bad spot to try out. Yet, if you're feeling like Weird Al Yankovic, do what I did and find the original track and sing the Weird Al lyrics. No Amish Paradise listed here.

Just to give yall an idea how big the VIP room is!

Let me break it down: Drinks: They have one of the best tiki menus around, with really cool tiki mugs and some of the most well-balanced cocktails I've had. What I really appreciate is the consistency, every time we come in, our drinks taste just as good as the last time. Our favorites are the Zombie and the Singapore Sling. Food: I absolutely love the Spam Musubi and their fries. They're great bar bites whether you're actually hungry and need something substantial or just want a little snack to go with your drinks. The vibe: The bartenders are always super friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem like they're having a good time doing what they do. That makes a huge difference and really adds to the experience. The only knock I can think of is that I wish the music was a little louder and more upbeat. I know tiki bars are designed for conversation, and I appreciate that, but sometimes the quieter atmosphere can make you a little sleepy. Overall, Stowaway is our go-to tiki bar in OC. Great drinks, good food, awesome bartenders, and a fun atmosphere. We'll definitely keep coming back.

The shareable small bites were incredible--the Poke Bombs were indeed da bomb (pun intended), and the Tempura-battered Spam Musubi served with a sweet teriyaki-esque glaze and sriracha-mayo is an absolute must-order. Both items were so good that we ended up ordering them again. The drinks were great -- Three Dots and a Dash, Smoking Rita and the Lava Flow instantly transported me right back to Hawaii. Huge shoutout to Michelle and David for providing such warm, friendly, and attentive service. We will definitely be back!

Great Place, but the Vibe Has Changed…read more Oh my God, I used to love this place, and honestly, I still feel a connection to it, but it's definitely changed over the years. When I first came here, the vibe was different, and it had this underground Santa Ana subculture that I really enjoyed. The bar, which was run by Vanessa, felt like a underground haven--slightly rundown with the shoddiest restrooms, but it had that authentic, gritty charm. The pool tables were usually in decent shape, and the bar always had cool, unique brews, including microbrews. The place felt cozy despite being so small, and when it got packed, you were basically sardined into the whole space. They had an adjacent outdoor section that was rarely utilized, but you could tell it had potential. I've lived here for a long time, and I've always appreciated the diversity in Santa Ana. But this bar used to be about that punkish unique underground micro brew vibe culture(my opinion)--it was never overly focused on any one particular ethnicity. It felt like the space catered to a mix of people, but recently, I've noticed it's shifted. The atmosphere has leaned more toward a hyper-Mexican, Banda-style vibe. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about that, but it's definitely a change. In talking to locals, there's been a sense that just because you're from a certain country doesn't mean you want everything around you to be about that. As a Hispanic American, I get that--we don't always want the place we hang out to feel like it's only representing our cultural background. I'm not sure when this shift happened, but it's possible the pandemic played a role in it. Before that, the bar had more of a microbrew, underground beer culture, and now it feels like it's become part of the Santa Ana "Banda" norm. Whether it was the owner's vision or just the pressures of what sells, it's hard to say. But the place has definitely moved away from the punkish / alternative Santa Ana night scene and embraced something new. Now, if you're into Banda music, tacos, and a lot of Mexican-American influence, you'll love it. Again, no hate on that--just pointing out that it's not the underground, microbrew culture that originally drew people in. It's now a whole different vibe.

I don't normally like the OC businesses so much, but I LOVE this place! It's very down to earth,…read morethey have the most amazing beer selection, and terrific prices. It's packed and happening, super fun. I'll be back.
