CUTE SPACE Was picking up something from someone who was organizing an event at this space. It's new so when you search the address it shows the small Food Hall in downtown Santa Ana. Yes, the food hall is still there and this is directly behind it. It's a bar and to be specific a LGBTQ+ bar/lounge. I was early upon picking up my package and was let in by the wonderful and nice staff and other organizers. I got a clear glimpse of the space before it gets hot and wild. Unfortunately, I didn't stay for the event and was there just to pick up my package. But it looked like a fun place to be. I have been coming since opening and have a lot of love for this place, but the last few weekends have left me feeling so meh. I was most excited for queens to be a space to come and dance but it feels that it's packing more and more random shows throughout the night that pause the vibez. It is really hard to move around outside with SO MANY tables and stools, that damn fountain. I get eaten alive outside by mosquitoes near that thing! It's not all negative. The inside dance floor is where I have had the most fun, especially on DJ nights. The interior decor is verrrry much a vibe. The gogos are sexy asf. But, this place just does not know what it wants to be yet. The staff has always been amazing, but I find myself waiting till all these shows are over but the timing of them is always later than advertised! I enjoy the drinks and really like the pizza, especially the disco ball (that shit literally glows, very cute). I hope to see the bar expand their liquor selection, but I have never not enjoyed my drinks from the bar. It's not that I don't like the shows they have, but they're so all over the place recently and very repetitive. Trust me, there are some queens that I can tell put their all into their sets and bring something new each time, bring them out more!!! I will be more than happy to update this review as nights improve. I will continue to support local queer businesses, but this has been a growing frustration for me and my friends. Also, still no mexican lagers in a DTSA bar and so much AI in their advertising, down to the happy hour menu... yikes. read more

I was super excited to see that Orange County finally open opened up a new LGBTQ friendly spot! The location is great as it's under an arcade bar and on the main street. This over location is a solid four stars. The hospitality is great. The bartenders are super friendly. The bouncers and check-in was easy. The space is linear so that leaves no room for a DJ. That's the only critique I have is they were playing a lot of pop forward music. I wish there was more variety, adding in some hip-hop and R&B. The aesthetic is cute! I truly hope this business thrives from last night there was a good amount of people! read more

The food was also very good, which was a pleasant surprise considering places with entertainment typically lack in the food department. I had the chilaquiles which were very good. I heard about this new spot in town and didn't realize at first that it was an LGBTQ+ bar. The interior is stunning and elegant, and the themed cocktails were fantastic. Alex greeted me warmly right at the door and made me feel right at home. The menu was delicious, and with great food, drinks, and music, it really has a little bit of everything. Stopped by during their weekend grand opening after months of anticipation, and I have to say... they did a great job with the space. The decor is full-on drag queen chic from floor to ceiling, with thoughtful "queenly" touches hidden throughout. The outdoor garden area is spacious, well-lit, and beautifully decorated with roses and greenery, almost like it was curated for royalty. Inside, there's a long bar with very busy bartenders keeping things moving. I did notice there wasn't a DJ, though music was playing, possibly a playlist. A live or guest DJ could really elevate the energy, especially outdoors, but the current setup still works. There's a designated dance floor along with seating for those who want to relax or order food. I didn't get a chance to try anything this visit, but I was told the food comes from the restaurants within McFadden Market, which I already enjoy, so I'm looking forward to coming back for that. My main concern is the smoking area. Anyone entering McFadden Market, whether for this lounge, Mission Control, the tiki bar, or the restaurants--has to walk through a noticeable cloud of smoke. That alone could be a deterrent and might be worth reconsidering, especially given its proximity to the entrance. I plan to return on a non-opening night to get a better sense of the vibe and crowd. Overall, though, it looks like people are having a great time, and the space itself was very well done. read more

She has the kind of personality that lights up the entire room. She was so engaging, made everyone feel included, and had us laughing nonstop. I won a gift card to Queens Lounge at Drag Lotería in Whittier, so I was excited to finally check it out! Alessandra had invited me to brunch, and I've seen her perform before--she's absolutely fabulous. The brunch show did not disappoint. All of the performers were incredibly talented and entertaining, and Alessandra was as hilarious as ever. The energy, performances, and overall atmosphere made for such a fun experience. My only small suggestion would be to add draft beer to the drink menu. Other than that, everything was fantastic, and I'd definitely come back for another brunch show! read more

Idk who the bald headed guy is at queens Lounge, the bartender. I ordered fries took 20 minutes plus. I just asked for an update and was chewed out by the bartender. lol. No clue why he was pressed but it's not a good look considering you gotta buy stuff through him..drinks food etc. idk he made me completely uncomfortable and made me feel like trash. The manager came to our table to apologize with shots but the bartender kinda killed the mood. I thought the ambience was a 10/10 but the service was 1/10. Idk if I'll be back tbh being a gay club feeling sideways about the bartender. He seemed like he was on drugs.. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect but was first surprised by the level of thoughtful decor on the patio area. Really over the top in a good way. Inside was a little tight/small and tough to get to the bar, but after our first drink we realized it wasn't a big deal because they had a server coming around to the tables which was nice. Drinks were on the pricier side with pretty standard pours. Overall really enjoyed the evening. read more

Great local OC LGBT bar. We had the pepperoni pizza and it's perfectly crispy. They always have a lot of entertainment. It's a small location but there's lots of great food and barcade nearby. read more

Went last weekend and the place is really cute and the atmosphere is cool. The dance floor inside is small, it's mainly a place to sit and have drinks at rather than a nightclub. But there's a lot of potential here, if they dimmed the lights more and cleared out more room to dance, inside and outside. I would give this place another try in a few months. read more

I went with my friends last weekend and it was fun. I am concern how this project is gonna develop. There is no room inside for the queens to perform, not a lot room to dance either. The patio is the biggest part, but of course is not giving club vibes with all the lights and the low music as it is outside. I feel they put effort in the design and decoration, but small space for a club, even more being the only one in OC right now. I would definitely go back and give it a try again. read more

This place has a lot of potential however, how are you going to host a drag show and not provide any $1's... not even for the bartenders or the dancers. Sure there is an atm on property, but the atm is not going to provide any 1'ss. I went to the bar tenders multiple times asking for 1's and was told they didn't have any. I really like this space, and I'm so stoked to have a cute and lively queer club back in OC! However, I have one criticism that really does affect the vibe in my opinion, and I checked with my friends to see if they felt the same (they do). The music is.... interesting. Sometimes its GREAT, clearly a well thought out playlist with smooth transitions and music that fits the theme. But other times, the music genuinely kills the vibe in the club and people leave the dance floor en masse. I seriously don't know who is making one playlist vs. the others, but the difference is stark. I'm genuinely confused at the difference in music taste/quality depending on the night. But when the music is danceable, it's an awesome time with awesome people. Whoever is making the playlists with the smooth transitions, fitting, modern music, and appropriate theming... please stay at the Queens Lounge!! The performers are awesome and the hosts are great, it truly is just the music that is affecting the vibe! read more
