It's been a long time since I have been comfortable getting my nails done; the workers are always talking to each other and seem to neglect the customer BUT NOT HERE!! I was having a conversation with my friend and the workers were still attentive to what they were doing without getting distracted, they were friendly and we had a good chat with them too. My experience at this nail salon was the absolute worst experience I've ever had in the 25 years I've been getting my nails done. The woman's name that was supposed to do my nails is Lyn. She rude from the start. She yelled at my husband for standing up and then yelled at him for sitting down, very confusing. I asked her about the prices of the different services and she refused to give us a price and then she yelled at me for not knowing what I wanted. When I sat down I told her to please try to be gentle on my fingers because I have rheumatoid arthritis, and that made her angry and she started wrenching my hands and bending my fingers very aggressively. I told her I wanted them a little shorter and she literally freaked out, she was yelling and screaming in Vietnamese. And through all of this I tried to remained calm. Finally she agreed to make my nails shorter. She was mad! She quickly starting using the dremel tool and she did as much damage as she could. She mutilated the nails on my right hand and several of them were bleeding. It hurt so bad I stood up crying and told her to stop. She wouldn't let my hand go and my husband had to pry her hands off mine. We ran out of there! No matter what you do, DO NOT GOT TO VNS NAILS FOR ANYTHING! It was a nightmare and now I have to wait for my nails and cuticles to heal before I can get them done. With my review is a picture of my right hand we took on our way home. I definitely need to treat myself to getting my nails done at New York Nails more frequently. I'm seriously elated looking at my nails. I called at 5:45 pm on a Monday and I was able to get an appointment at 6:30 pm. I took the time to find some nail-inspiration online and my nail tech, Lynn, was able to replicate the image exactly. It cost $45, and I think that's a great price, given the quality and effort put into the finished product. My nails took 1 hour and 15 minutes and Lynn worked on me even 15 minutes after the shop's closing. Make the effort I put into typing this review worth it (long nails are insanely difficult to be a regular human with), and get your nails done with Lynn. Once I sat down I asked to look at all of the colors for my acrylics that I was getting. I was getting shellac and there were a lot, I mean a lot, of different choices of beautiful colors. Usually I can find which one I wanted to use quickly, but it was a hard decision this time. I told Lynn that I had read about this place on yelp, and she was very excited. you could tell that she really cared about that place and what customers thought about it.Once she started working on my nails she was super power light and took her time with doing them making sure that they were not messed up and that they were the right length. It was my first time to go there today to get a pedicure. The lady who did my toenails sneezed on me twice. TWICE. She was rubbing her nose the entire time. Mother is in town and wanted to do her nails, I decided on this place since Yelp was saying it would be cheap. LIE!!!! The prices are slightly ridiculous in my opinion, I've been able to get a mani/pedi for $20 back home. $20 isn't even enough for a pedicure here. And when they were filling up the basin of the spa chairs, the lady lost control of the water, making it spurt out at full blast directly hitting my mother's lap. Employee didn't even know how to turn it off it appeared. I mean the place is very fancy looking compared to the outside, clean bathroom, many stations for doing nails and pedicures. The employees were doing their best to be helpful, but it easily gets busy as there is only 3 working (at least when I came in on a Thursday). It took a while to finish as they were trying to do a couple clients at the same time so you were left waiting there at times. They are very nice people, just had a horrible start with us. Pedicure came with a great foot massage. They very gently clean up your cuticles, so they don't dig too deep in the nail bed. Clean paint job! Same goes for manicures, clean and slow. Paint job was done perfectly, I personally had Ann working on my nails. Eyebrow wax went smoothly as well.
