I show them a very simple picture of what I am wanting and there is LITERALLY nothing spectacular about my needs. But oh no, they can never do that. I asked her not to use the electric file. She used a regular file very hard and some kind of knife? To scrape off polish. I asked her to stop and said it hurt. She told me I was going to have to wait for the polish remover to work. That is fine I will wait. Then she then got off her phone. She got nasty with me. I explain again it hurts. I told her I was willing to just pay for polishing removal and leave. She did not want to do that. Never coming back. I should not be put in a position to justify why it hurts. ? read more

So very happy that I found this little gem. I was suffering with ingrown toenails and the place I had been going to kept telling me to wait because I had to let them grow out. Ha! After many months I began looking around (why did I wait?). Anyway when I entered I told them my issue and a lady came up and worked on my feet. I walked out of that place with no pain and it hasn't returned. It's a nice little spot, not fancy or glitzy, but it has everything I want. Most of the time I like this salon. I have been going here for years. Not super busy, do a good job. Price is good. Today they wasted my time as well as a number of customers who had services done only to be told that the credit card machine was down. Cash only. Who carries cash?! I was on my lunch and sat there for 20 minutes and OVERHEARD this being told to another customer. I wasn't even told. They were just going to start working on my nails and not say anything? Don't you think this is something your customers should know before you waste their time??!! Also the owner was super rude and didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in the door. read more

I have been having my nails done here for 3+ years. The owner, Michelle, keeps the salon very clean and has upgraded the lighting and pedi chairs since I became a customer. The pedi chairs are fabulous! I do acrylics and gel polish with Amy every 3 weeks. Amy was referred to me by another lady. She does really good nails and is very, very sweet as well. All of the ladies that work at VN are very happy and nice. They are also accommodating as far as scheduling. I own my own business and travel quite a bit, so scheduling is important to me. I see a good number of regular customers when I go in for my appointments, so I know they have a consistent clientele. read more

I used to be pretty regular at VN earlier in the year, but I won't be going back after today. I have so many complaints about how my nails look. My first issue is with my pinky finger, I had to get that nail replaced and the shape is wayyy off from my other nails. It's curved on one side and straight on the other. I asked her to fix it and she kept filing down the curved side.. I figured "whatever, I'll file it down the way I want when I get home". I also noticed after I left that there's a gap between my real nail and the acrylic, so it probably won't even hold.. she rushed through the whole process, which I don't understand because there was no one else waiting to get their nails done while I was getting mine done and filed down the skin on my thumb til it bled. Then slapped on some acrylic and got it all around my nail beds. I washed my hands well and still didn't come off. she painted my nails and did my design, which looked halfway decent until she put lotion on my hands and the polish must not have been dried all the way because it smudged and was immediately ruined. I didn't notice until after I paid and I got about a block away, so I had to turn around and go back. she tried to barely file down where the yellow was originally supposed to be and leave me with a giant yellow smudge on my nail and I had to ask her two separate times to fix where it had smudged and that I didn't want a random yellow streak in the white part of the design of my nails. even after "fixing" them, they still look pretty crappy. If anyone is thinking of going here, go to A1 Nails on Coliseum instead. this manicure was not worth the $40 I paid nor the frustration. read more

After months of searching for a quality nail salon, I finally found it! VN Nails is in a small strip mall off Covington just a few doors down from Zianos. It's not a huge place, but there is quite a few stations and pedicure stairs. It is clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and the owner is always there to greet you. I love walking in and having them remember me and ask how I'm doing. I typically go for a gel (shellac) manicure. They have lots of options for colors, which is good but always makes for a hard decision! I always leaving feeling refreshed and my nails look great, and last. Great work, lovely nail techs, really clean & bright salon and great value for the price. We've never had a bad experience! My nails stayed looking great even after a few day trip to the beach and looked so nice people asked if it was shalac. The lady that did my fill didn't even apply the acrylic she just drilled it down and then when she told em to wash my hands i asked her if she was gonna apply the acrylic and then she tried to argue with me and had another tech chime in saying that she did the fill. Also i showed her a picture of a French manicure i wanted and she did I'd have to do gel, in order to get it. Which i don't, so i just let her do whatever and then went to get my pedicure and they didn't even lift my yoga pants high enough to get my calves. Poor communication and horrible customer service. It's the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. My regular tech has not come back to work yet, but I just couldn't wait. Three weeks before I was at VN I went to a different shop. Within 3 weeks I had three nails that had completely peeled off, and the remaining 7 were all chipped. So I showed my nails to the owner, and told her I chose her shop because of her outstanding Yelp rating (4.5). I was horrified that my dip polish had come off so badly, and she said that's expected. Huh??? I've been getting my nails done for years, a couple of years ago switching to dip from gel. When my husband was in the hospital last year I went 5 weeks without a mani. No chipping at all. I don't know how this mani is going to hold up, but I'll be surprised if it lasts 3 weeks. The techs were very friendly, and she has installed plexiglas between tech and patron and is only using every other pedi chair. If this mani lasts, I may change my rating. But I'm very concerned that she thinks this will disappear before 3 weeks is over. Fortunately, my regular tech will be back at work by then!!! read more

The nail tech pried the acrylics off my nails without soaking them. She also started clipping her own nails while she was working on mine. I let her finish the manicure. Finished product looks good, however they might need to work on proper techniques and practices. Don't think I'll be going back. read more

I was visiting from San Diego and had a very painful ingrown toenail. Amy was absolutely wonderful! She did such a great job relieving my pain and gave a wonderful pedicure. I only come here for pedicures but the staff is very talented and very professional. They even offer you drinks when you sit down in the pedicure chairs. Their color choices for polish are quite varied so anyone can find something they love! As part of the pedicure package, they will soak your feet in warm water, moisturizer and exfoliate your legs, shave off your callouses, cut your cuticles and of course paint your toes. RIPPED OFF AND LIED TO. WILL NEVER GO BACK. Very poor service. I have gone to this salon for pedicures a number of times before covid-19. My husband gave me a gift certificate to go and have one. I did not see my regular technician who is excellent. I had a new tech I had never seen before. The entire time she talked in a foreign language to herself or perhaps she was talking to the manager but the manager was not responding. Apparently they must have been running behind because she did not do the leg and foot massage. When I brought it to her attention she said that what I was getting was the basic pedicure. I tried to explain to her that I had been there a number of times and that it always included the massage in the service. The manager backed her up and said that I had gotten the basic pedicure. My tech said it would cost more to have the massage included. I asked her if I was getting the $25 pedicure and she said yes. While my toes were drying I looked at the gift certificate brochure. It stated $25 for the classic pedicure which included the massage. There was also a deluxe pedicure which included much more. There was no mention on the flyer about a basic pedicure. So my husband treated my mother and I to pedicures for mother's day. My mom didn't get a very good massage with her pedicure and they didn't trim one of her toes, leaving them uneven. Then a day later her polish chipped. I thought I was getting a good pedicure until the woman doing mine clip the side of my toe, which at the time I thought maybe it was just a hangnail and it just hurt at the time but wouldn't later. I was wrong. Turns out she had clipped my skin. She cut the whole side of my big toe nail off and when compared to my other big toe it shows. There is a straight cut right down to the skin. So a couple days later it is red and sore to walk on. Well now I woke up in pain went to the bathroom and my toe was red and huge so I pressed the side and then came the pus. How awesome I went for my first pedi in years on mother's day and I get the gift of an infected toe due to a bad pedicure. I thought the place and people seemed very nice, but this is unacceptable. I should be enjoying a nice pedi but instead I have to worry about a doctors visit. read more
