I had the services for about five years. There was a need for a lot of maintenance as the equipment often failed to work. Eventually, my outside camera stopped working. My wife called them to ask for a replacement and was told we would have to upgrade the entire system. I didn't have such issues with ADT so I decided to cancel the services with Vivint and get a system with ADT. I called Vivint several times to cancel my services. Each time I was interrogated regarding the reason I wanted to cancel and was subjected to attempts to get me to upgrade my system. When that didn't work, I was put on hold several times. When that didn't work, they simply hung up the phone. This went on for months and I didn't use their system. Instead of them canceling my services as I requested, they continued to bill me. I found this out when a collection agency sent me a letter. This was so unprofessional of Vivint. A person has the Right to cancel their services. I tend to believe that I am not the only one who has had this issue with them. Something is strange about this company. One customer service rep became panicky when I pressed him 10 straight times to cancel my service and proclaimed that he "didn't want to lose his job." That was not my problem. All I wanted was my service cancelled as requested. I will never use Vivint again and do not recommend them for your security needs. They do that adequately, but their equipment needs a lot of maintenance and getting a cancellation is frustrating, time consuming, and may require legal action. read more

Do not trust this company with your Credit Card! I cancelled my service with Vivint 5 months ago which in and of itself was long and complicated process and paid their "cancellation fees". After completing this process Vivint continued to charge my credit card even though my account was terminated. It took several months and several multi-hour phone calls to get them to stop charging my card and as of writing this review have yet to receive my refund for the additional charges. In addition to all these issues, every time I called Vivint the customer support agent would spam my email with deals for Vivint products even though I specifically told them not too. If you look elsewhere online you'll see this is a common problem with this company. Do yourself a favor and look for any other company to work with. read more

Vivint is the BEST! I had them over a year at my home. Wanted to help my aunt who is deaf be able to feel safe. Spoke with a vivint rep named Jason and he helped me create a system for her and she loves it.. Ran into a little hiccup on day of installation. I called Jason on his day off and do you know he went the extra mile for me to get it all worked out!! My aunt loves her new system.. She even got a better deal than I did when I first started lol.. When I first got with this company almost 2 years ago I was excited. I even convinced my neighbor to get a system with this company. About 9 months ago ( check my other review when I first ordered this) I ordered another system on my aunt's house since she is completely deaf and partially blind. It would help me monitor her and the house in case of any emergency. Even order her the necklace for emergency like if she falls etc.about 2 weeks ago I noticed my cameras were not picking up motion anymore. I called customer care and was told I would be charged if they sent someone to fix it. So I explained to them I live in Montgomery and the other system is in Sheffield can they please help. I was told I would be charged$49 for the service call. So I drove 400 miles round trip to try to fix it myself with no avail.just recently a deadly tornado comes through the area knocking the system offline. I tried to fix from my app but again no luck so I called customer service again asking can someone go out and fix it. Was told again about the service charge and I asked them why it couldn't be waived seeing the last problem wasn't fixed after I drove up there and now a tornado comes through and they still won't help. The customer service agent said he would waive the fee and have someone go to fix it but he couldn't tell me when. Mind you nothing is working at this location since Saturday 0530 no smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector no keyfob or her alert necklace and I have stressed to them the importance of being able to have this for her. This company has done nothing but take my money and give me the run around and lies. Had a manager send me a email claiming to contact me to try to resolve the issue but I have yet to receive a call and my aunt's system is still down. This is how the treat their loyal customers. Do not waste your money here. I have a appointment with ADT this morning to come out and set up a system here in Montgomery and then next in Sheffield. They assured me due to my aunt's situation and where we live they will NEVER charge me to go to her house for any maintenance.. that's all I needed to hear. read more

How hilarious you click Vivant Security to do you a yelp review and there's already a pre-printed format as you're supposed to just send off about their great service??? I have had a horrible experience with them these sales teams will say anything they can to get you to buy whatever they can get you to buy without clearly explaining the details of any portion of the two separate contracts you enter into. I would not recommend this company to anybody for any reason they will rip you off, I have spent over 20 hours on the phone with them trying to get my security system problems resolved only thing is every time you call customer service it takes at least 45 minutes for a representative to get to the phone and then to get someone that knows what they're talking about is a whole Nother story they don't have any that are intelligent enough or professional enough to assist you in a proper manner I've had the contract now for 2 1/2 months and they still can't spell my name right imagine the service you get when they can't even correct A simple spelling of someone's name. read more

Vivint Home Security is a total "Rip Off", if you payoff your equipment, they'll have you paying the same amount until you notify them that you paid the equipment off, and won't give you credit for the over payments you made. They also tell you that they'll give you a discount on your service if you extend your agreement for 36 months, but they don't tell you that they are only give you a discount for 12 months. I would have never agreed to that if I knew that. You fooled me once Vivint but never again you scam artist!!! read more
