I just noticed your comment back to me and even though it's been several months ago I would like to respond to your response just for clarification and so people who search for a moving company can have an assessment of my experience with your company to determine if you would be right for them. That is, after all, what a review is for. To clarify, I contacted you through this app on the 20th, you are correct. However, I called and spoke with someone on the 9th, 11 days before commenting through this app. He asked what I had to move, did it have stairs and where was I moving from and to where and also asked what date I needed you for. I told him the date that I had to be out by was the 30th and I could be flexible as long as it was by the 30th. He informed me that someone would be contacting me back with a price and date at that time. I never heard back anything by phone and even tried calling again with no answer a couple of times. I then posted through this app with the project scheduling on the 20th, four days before your defensive comment back to me, without an apology, I might add. If I could give zero stars for this company I would just on the basis of you not offering an apology for my experience and getting defensive with me when I'm just posting my experience with your company for others to be able to make an informed decision based on reviews. S and k did my move with less than 24 hours notice. They were excellent, on time and fast! Nothing was damaged at all. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. The price was way cheaper than any other quotes i got. Would recommend 10/10. When i need movers i will be calling them! read more

When we were asking around for recommendations for movers, S&K Moving was mentioned several times. I highly recommend Stephen and Rashard. The price that was quoted was very reasonable. They are so professional and showed up on time. Both were careful of our wood floors and made sure walls were protected. We moved from Auburn to Tyler,Texas and from loading to unloading was a seem less process. Steven and Kimberly made our move from Alabama to Colorado seamless and stress free. While they can be a bit slow in the estimating process, it's only out of diligence to ensure there are no surprise charges at the end. They offered high value insurance for our expensive road bikes and art work, and provided custom sized crates for packing two marble tables. Kimberly's packing team were meticulous in wrapping and packing everything and Steven's team were fast, professional, and careful with the move out and move in. The S & K Moving guys were awesome!! They were so helpful and moved my things out of my storage unit into my Penske truck in less time than expected. They also followed me back to Penske to safely hook my SUV/car hauler up to the Penske truck. I would've never been able to do it by myself. Firstly, Kimberly (co-owner) is very responsive. They have prices much lower than competitors. She worked diligently to get an inventory list. They only allowed me 35 boxes, and were not specific about prices should I have more than what is on the inventory. (they go by pieces instead of pounds, so she told me) I ran around (still 30 days before my move) boxing stuff up in an attempt to give an accurate count. At one point I emailed (we routinely corresponded by email or text) and asked if they were DOT licensed or FMCSA and instead of replying in writing, she called and said they do not cross state lines so do not have to be FMCSA. They do have pictures on their FB listing showing them going to other states, so I thought this was odd. As for DOT, she claimed since they aren't "on the road all the time, nor drive 18-wheelers, this is not required of them." When I asked what "licensed and insured means on their trucks" She said they have a business license and offer 60 cents on the dollar for any breakage. She told me " you can buy more coverage if you want, but people never do because if you look at our GREAT reviews, you will see we are very careful!" OK , so I decided to move forward anyway. She finally sent me a contract and it seemed thorough. However, the cancellation policy only addresses up to 14 days prior to a move. Since I am 30 days (and waiting for my house to close) I asked the policy for greater than 14day cancellations. Instead of responding to my email, she called and left a VM stating that perhaps I should find a different mover since I am "already thinking of canceling". I emailed again and told her I did not understand why they did not like for someone to clarify their policies that are not clear in the contract. She called AGAIN ( didn't take the ca;ll because I wanted this correspondence in writing) . This "business" clearly does not want things in writing that may not go toward their favor. (just my observation) She emails saying she apologies if she offended me and please call. I emailed again telling her it is quite offensive that I cannot even ask a question and they threaten to cancel my move. These things are of great concern to me. One is at a mover's mercy when the big day comes. Be careful with this business. They claim to have been in business for 7 years. BBB says 5 years? Their LLC is less than a year. I have found many businesses will change up names to start their review over when the stars fall below satisfactory (or they delete reviews). This may just be a one shot experience, but I think not. read more

Today is the third time in the less than a year that I have used S & K movers and until today I was very pleased. Today however my wife had to go to the hardware store to get some screws that were missing to put our bed frame together. The owner said it was policy to charge $100 per hour and since they had been waiting 20 minutes they would have to charge. Every time we have used them both guys moving have been tipped generously but due to POLICY, Kimberly said they would have to charge us but because we are returning customers she only would charge $50. Wow she is so nice. I buy and sell houses multiple times a year and these folks will never get my business again not to mention anymore refferals that I have given them read more
