Moved twice in the past two years in the Montgomery area, and my best experience was with Motivated Movers. We lived on Maxwell, and they already knew how to navigate coming onto base and getting to our home. If you live on base and are moving out, I recommend them as well. We asked for 2 movers, and they were able to give us a quote based on all the things that I listed. The quote was pretty spot on, except they sent 3 movers instead of 2, with no extra cost. Hands down the worst movers I have ever used. Nothing was packed correctly. The quote was 12k. Bill was 16k. Every box was clearly labeled with rooms the boxes should go. The just piled things anywhere. Boxes with kitchen dishes were in bedrooms. Basement was just piled all at the entry to basement you had to climb over boxes. They outsourced several of the guys from companies known to be less reputable This was my 9th move and 100% the worst I ever experienced along with the most expensive!!! Move went smoothly. Movers called the day prior and a few minutes prior to confirm arrival. movers are unreliable and very dishonest, Had the WORST experience and to top it off BARRY IS A COMPLETE IDIOT, the guys arrived and was told what needed to be loaded and what was preferred to be loaded at the end, first off the driver (white guy) arrived with a HUGE GOLD GRILL in his mouth (unprofessional) a bulk of chains around his neck like he was heading to a club & every time he lifted something he was afraid of them getting broken, my mom started instantly getting frustrated because they were just horsing around and found time to step outside to talk to someone they had called up in a silver truck, they were on my moms time & acted like nothing was wrong, they then told her they made need to make several trips bc they didn't load the truck how she requested they did what they wanted to do, we started asking for Barry's number and the crew acted like they didn't know it after they had been talking to him on different occasions while loading, they also damaged property and lied like they had reported it and did not, wouldn't even provide a copy of the signed paper saying they was aware of damages. long story short we had a very horrible experience with the first crew they took 4 hours to just LOAD, everything was broken down and ready to be picked up and loaded tried to charge $100 per TV for a LOCAL move which is Free(4TVs)they left all TVs, several important things behind like refrigerator, upright freezers, dressers, a electric wheelchair, bbq grill & many other things that should have been loaded, once contacted Barry he advise he would send a new crew and they will go back at those things once the new crew unloaded everything, they demanded payment before the job was complete my mom payed with no problem and they told her once they return to get the items lefted they would provide her with her change, my mom got in her car thinking they was trailing her to get the items lefted, they dipped off and went another way, called Barry no answer, called the main office they transferred me to Barry no answer again, so at this point I know we're being ignored because he understands I'm someone that has dealt with the company before and familiar with policies, I had to mention in text that they had damaged her refrigerator and she needed to know what was gonna be done about it, he finally called right back saying it hadn't been reported but the crew advised they reported it and had her to sign a paper she couldn't get a copy of, he asked for photos of the refrigerator stated he was going to send her change via mail and also take care of the refrigerator, yesterday we received a $750 check which is the amount she paid to be moved, no acknowledgement about the refrigerator so I texted him advising $750 isn't enough to cover the cost of the damage or dents or to replace it, mind you he had the model and serial number of the product NORESPONSE AGAIN ! the guys also don't know where they misplaced any handles, they didn't wrap it either to prevent any damage, they spent 2 hours trying to remove doors off an old rusty freezer to prevent damage but didn't take any precautionary steps to prevent the new refrigerator from damage (we're talking about a brand new whirlpool $2,500 refrigerator that hasn't been in the home 6months) also when they guys advise they would be trailing her BARRY had already planned to have the guys go another way, he told me "I advised them to leave as quickly as possible" ok but the job wasn't complete, we never signed a completion form & Barry is the one who offered the "we'll go back and grab everything that was left free of charge for the inconvenience LIE" we sat on the phone arguing back and fourth like a married couple, he had a lot of unprofessional words came out his mouth so I became very disrespectful because I'm making your company money and this how you decide to treat returning customers, I wouldn't have recommended a dog if I known he operated this way, if you did not want to do it you shouldn't have mislead a 60year old person of something you're not going to do, my mom had to get a uhaul (paying out more money) to get the other items that was left behind and pay someone to move it from one place to another which was the whole purpose of using this company, so now that he has abused his contract, We will be filing a claim against this company and we'll see this clown or whichever other clown they have apart of their circus in court! BE AWARE of this SCAMMING company, how do a crew get paid before a job is complete and run off with somebody money? don't provide change or receipt? this whole experience was overall Bullshit! I forgot to mention the teams was standing around chatting about how Barry sends them to do his dirty work, how he doesn't do nothing but ride around and watch them, work the hell out of them for the little pay & also stated they won't be around much longer, Barry is very lucky he wasn't on site during the move because he would've been swallowing his teeth! read more

Wayne Mark and syd were amazing ! They hustle and actually made it look fun! I will recommend this company to all my friends and family! They were extremely reliable. They arrived at 8:00 on the dot and did not delay at all while moving. They had extremely friendly personalities and at one point even ran up the stairs to get it done. My apartment had three floors to cope with and that did not deter them. My wife called on Monday afternoon about a Saturday move and they quoted $135/hr for 2 men and $165/hour for 3 men. I called the next morning and they inflated rate to $165 for 2 and $195 for 3. We moved from Kansas to Alabama and hired Motivated Movers to help unload u-haul. The lead Brandon was great along with crew. They unloaded half in house and the rest in storage. Well come to find out a few weeks later our storage unit was robbed. The only ones that knew what was in our storage was us and the movers. No other unit was touched. All of my husbands woodworking tools and garage items where stolen,(locks cut), Halloween decor, my grandson legos and some other items. One member of that crew was very interested in my husbands wood working tools. And the thieves knew exactly what to take and they did. I would not recommend this company to any one and I hope the jerk who stole our stuff cuts his hands off with those tools. I moved to Montgomery from Ohio, and needed movers to unload my POD. The two men who showed up couldn't have been friendlier, inquired about my move down, and did an EXCELLENT job unpacking the POD. The container was actually dropped off a short distance from the apartment building, and the movers loaded the contents of the container into the truck, and drove the truck near the apartment, thus limiting the chances of any damage that might have occurred if they had carried everything across the parking lot. They also wrapped various pieces of furniture up (like the dresser) so they wouldn't be damaged. I have a second POD arriving in a few days, and the gentlemen were very helpful with arranging for a team to come back. Also, the hardware for my bed wasn't readily available, and the movers volunteered to put the bed together for me when they came back if I was able to locate it. From the first phone call I made to the time my move was complete, I felt like I was their most important customer and that "MY" move was "THEIR" move. I got a reminder call two days before, a notice of arrival phone call 30 minutes prior to arrival and when Logan and Robert arrived they immediately went to work. There was no dallying around and they just took care of business. They were very professional and didn't nick a wall or break a glass. When you pay by the hour you worry folks will take advantage and drag things out but that did not happen. I felt like I was given great service and paid a very reasonable price. 1- This company charged a whole lot more than what they quoted. They quoted about $600 and charged $1015. They're based in Millbrook, they moved my Mom from Prattville to Wetumpka and charged $140 travel fee! 2- They said they took 30 minutes for lunch but took longer and charged for it. It took them an hour and 20 minutes to get from Prattville to Wetumpka but they only took out 30 for their lunch. 3- Quite a few pieces of my Mom's furniture were damaged. Keys broken off a keyboard, fabric ripped from the backs of chairs, corners knocked off china cabinet etc. They HAD to have known some of that damage was done before they left that day and they didn't say anything about it to either of us. (They keyboard was placed in a closet facing the wall so we didn't see the missing keys until we took it out of the closet the next day.) She reported it to the manager. Manager came to inspect and behaved like a jerk to her and talked ugly about her belongings. I would NOT recommend them. read more

Scheduling was flexible. I requested two movers but they sent a third for no extra charge. They showed up on time and were careful with our things, respectful and fast. Overall I was very pleased with my experience with Motivated Movers. I found them to be professional and courteous. They showed up when they said they would and charged the price that we agreed to upfront. As someone that has moved several times, this is the first time that has ever happened. They moved some of my furniture from the Columbus, GA. Area to the greater Nashville, TN. area. When the furniture arrived it was obvious that it had been meticulously and carefully packaged. I was very concerned due to the cost, size and age of some of the pieces. After seeing the way they packed and unloaded the furniture, I will be making a point to hire them again moving forward (no pun intended). When the furniture was being unloaded the two gentlemen took great care to avoid damages. They moved a lot of heavy and cumbersome furniture, and the collateral damage from the move was only a small scratch on the floor. Also, they were kind enough to move a couple of pieces of furniture before they started unloading. The thing that made me feel the best about the decision was their professionalism. My wife and baby were in the house. Like I stated earlier in my review, I have dealt with movers before. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable with the lack of professionalism regarding interactions, and these people are in your home. I never once was concerned with interacting with them, nor was I ever bothered that my wife and baby were in the house whilst their movers were. You can call me a snob and roll your eyes from my previous comment, but please remember, I am trying to provide honest feedback for other potential customers. There were a few things that went wrong, and whilst I am not bothered by them, it is a good thing to note as I was requested to leave honest feedback. Please see the list of issues I had below. And again, to clarify, I would hire this company again with no hesitation. 1. When showing up to pick up furniture, an incomplete list was brought. Two couches had been left off of their pickup invoice list. Fortunately the truck was large enough to accommodate. 2. Small glass shelves were left in the truck. I have used many movers in the past but these guys (Brandon, Russ and Kell) are the VERY BEST. Their name fits because they are truly motivated to get the job done in a timely and precise manner. I've had movers in the past to take 4 hrs to do they same amount of work they did in 2hrs and 15 mins. Money well spent. We were going to rent a truck and try to move on our own. I'm so glad we didn't. I had called other companies and the quote I got from Motivated Movers was the cheapest, but the service we got was top notch. Below is the letter I sent the Motivated Movers. The move took place on August 18, 2012 This move went terribly wrong. Three months ago you moved me from a house in Prattville to an apartment in Prattville. It was perfect . The guys did a great job and the price was fair. So when I was moving to Mobile I called for an estimate . I was told that they looked at the first move and that it would be between $1200.00. There was actually less things for the move to Mobile because I loaded my SUV with all the TV and computer equipment.
