Pushy door-to-door salesmen. Decided to invest because we really needed an alarm system and they agreed to install the same day. Installing was quick and is the only reason I give them two stars. If you ever need anything serviced, they'll send someone out but only for a $49 fee. Customer service is poor and they expect you to service the equipment yourself if you don't want to pay $49. As much as I pay them monthly, no reason I shouldn't be able to request someone in the field to come assist me. I would not recommend. read more

worst customer service imaginable! no one has a clue of what there doing! I drove two hours to make an appointment and waited. no one followed through. I had to call them over and over and still couldn't service turned on. they are taking the money but there's no security system at the house. try the text line? ok. two weeks later no answer from it. I call over and over and no one has a slightest idea how to get the service on. they know how to change you. best thing I can suggest is go with anyone but vivint! could not be more disappointed in a compaby! I should have read reviews first. worthless beyond comprehensio! read more

The only thing good about Vivint is the equipment, and even that failed on a few occasions. The customer service people like to talk over you. You are unable to get a word in edgewise. I moved from one metro area to another and planned to leave all equipment at the old house so the new user could set up monitoring and use the equipment there. I called to schedule an installation of new equipment in early May (we closed on the new house on May 4th). The soonest they could get in was several weeks out. My husband was concerned that it was too long to go without security and asked me to call and see if we could get it done any sooner. The customer rep I worked with was extremely rude, had an extreme accent, and talked over me so much that I decided Vivint was unsuitable. Not only did I not reschedule, but I also told her to cancel future appointments and cancel the service. She canceled the installation but then failed to transfer me to the department to cancel the service. She didn't even tell me I had to go to another department. She made it sound like she canceled both. So, obviously, Vivint needs to re-train their people. If I don't have any equipment at the new house, then, OF COURSE, I am canceling the service. What good is service if nothing is installed at the house?! So...a few weeks go by, and I get charged for service. I call up Vivint and am told "that's another department". Great..so I finally got transferred to another department, where the customer rep TALKED OVER ME THE WHOLE TIME. The accent was extreme, and I barely understood what they were saying. I did hear, "must be in writing with a 30-day written notice". So, I "think" I have canceled. A few weeks later...I get charged again. Mind you, this is in July. We've been out of that house for two months and are still paying them. I am putting a freeze on my bank account, so good luck, Vivint, trying to charge me AGAIN for nothing. We have Brinks, and it was like night and day regarding professionalism. We have a far superior product, and the price was 1K cheaper on the equipment; we have many more devices since we moved into a much larger home, and the monitoring price was still the same. No contract is required. They didn't damage our new home during installation as Vivint did at our previous house (they tried to pull out the refrigerator without asking me) and damaged our brand-new hardwood floors. One last note. Vivint is a "security" company yet they allowed the new homeowner to access our personal account. How is that possible when the new homeowner doesn't have the verbal password? I wouldn't trust them with anything involving your personal information. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! The scam start as soon as they knock on your front door. The info they told me is 100% a lie. Are you really going to sit there at the front door and read all the fine print on a note pad that looked like it got tossed out of a moving car window?!! I will do everything thing in my power to stop feeding my money to them regardless of what it may do to my credit rating. I'm boxing up this crap, setting at the front door and they can come pick it up. Automatic payments will cease upon credit card closure... Thanks for nothing Vivint.... read more

Trying to cancel with these guys is absolutely tedious. After thirty minutes of "thank you for the permissions, and just in case youre interested let me tell you about this offer." This company is a nightmare when it comes to customer service, cancelling, technical support, etc. Please all save your time and energy for a company that at least makes the process of cancelling with them five minutes or less! I mean come on! its 2024!!! read more

If I could give -1000000 stars I would. This company raises our bill every few months then tells you that your rate has expired and you need to renegotiate. The app is not reliable and I won't use it. Customer service reps are pleasant but give the same story every time. They blame the customer, take no responsibility for changing CONTACTED rates and make you spend an hour on the phone to lower the rate back to what you were promised months earlier. Slam the door in the face of any Vivint rep who comes to your door, do not answer when they call. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!! Worst experience we have ever had with any company ever. read more

Do not do business with them! Canceled my account almost a year ago and yesterday they still want to bill my account and not refund my money. No customer service! Then they block me on Twitter because they don't like me putting out reviews. Sham of a company. You are better off to take your money to another company! Don't let yourself get taken by this company. I would Give a 0 rating if possible. read more

I have had nothing but problems with the app and service of their equipment. I was trying to hold off on canceling with them until my contract was up but I couldn't throw money away any longer. The cancellation process is an absolute nightmare. I would not recommend having Vivint as a security provider. read more

Any company going door to door in a pandemic is a no go. Called to ask about the midday cold calling and was hung up on after being given the corporate number and told to get a no soliciting sign. Odd coming from a security company. read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY! Avoid at all costs which can be a lot of cost if you're not careful. They got over $5000 out of me unfortunately over a 5 year period due to my contract which took several WEEKS and multiple hours on the phone with countless representatives to cancel. It's a NIGHTMARE and I'm still not confident they will not attempt to charge me for something. Have to wait 30 days for the cancelation to "complete". Took them less than an hour to get their contract and install their proprietary garbage equipment that functioned maybe 40% of the time I had it. If you see VIVINT storming your front door, which they WILL, tell them to kick rocks for your own sanity. read more

I'd really like to have given a good review of service. Had a seemingly good experience during my install. But after the install we realized that the element thermostat was not actually cooling the house and our previous thermostat had done so with no issues. The temperature inside was a consistent 85 by this point also. Long story short we had their technician come back to our house to inspect whether their had been damage. They initially said yes there looks like there might be, but quickly retracted that after talking to their manager. I repeatedly stated that it could be a faulty thermostat but they wouldn't listen. I had them remove the thermostat from my account and remount the previous one. My house has been cooling properly ever since. I can't recommend this company to anyone, they do not take customers seriously. read more

I do not recommend Vivant Home security for anyone. We have had this for 3 years and we upgraded and the technician used old equipment that we used from a former home security and it stopped working a week later. If we are going to be upgraded with used/old equipment from a previous home security, we should not pay full price. we are paying too much for used products. Unacceptable. read more

Vivint is horrible! Overcharged me $200 to fix their crappy equipment, poor customer service and the equipment was always malfunctioning. Steer clear of this company. They are really scammers with no ethics and poor technology. A lot of misleading and shady tactics all around. I wish I could give them a negative rating, 1 star is far too good for them. read more

This company has zero, no, customer service! Once you are in with them there is no way to get out except lose a lot of money!

Your company came to my house, took my payment, and drilled holes in my wall just to tell me my credit wasn't approved for the equipment. I was put on several lengthy holds and now it's going to take a week to get my walls fixed and get my money returned. They were unwilling to provide any immediate repair of damages. Ill be paying interest charges on my credit card while refund is being processed. I took today off to have them come I my home and make a mess of my house. Trash is left in multiple rooms. I will not use this company even when my credit is repaired. I also cannot recommend this company to anyone. They already NOT trustworthy! read more

Please...do NOT do it. I signed a contract with Vivint in 2016. I thought it was a four year contract, turns out its five. The system hardly ever worked for about two years and kept making a beeping noise. When a technician came out, the problem wasn't resolved. In July of 2019, one if their salesman came to my house while I was not there and spoke with my mom about our system. The next thing I knew my credit was checked and I was signed up for new equipment. I was at work at the time and never gave consent for any of this. My mom said she was under the impression that we got a credit to our account( that we were promised) for the equipment not working for two years. Just filed with the BBB and Attorney Generals office. Will be getting an attorney next. Oh yeah, also found out today that I have a new contract that I'm responsible for until the year 2023 that I didn't give my consent for either. read more

Very manipulative salespeople will get in your home and won't take no for an answer. They will confuse you and tell you "its free since we came to your door." I'm still trying to figure out what was free, nothing was free and in fact this was the most expensive mistake I have ever made. Trying to get out of the service has been a nightmare. The installer went up in my attic thru my garage and instead of stepping on the 4x4 he stepped right on a piece of unsupported sheetrock causing a large hole in my ceiling. Vivint told me they would immediately credit my account money to pay for the repair. A week later that has yet to be done. Also a week later, I am still set up with Citizens Bank to pay nearly $3700 for the equipment. Vivant has not cancelled this yet. This whole ordeal has been one lie after another. Also a week later I'm still waiting for them to come get their equipment and put my equipment back in place. Now I'm going to have holes in my walls everywhere that I'll have to patch and repaint. read more

I am writing this review just from an aggressive door-to-door salesman. I would avoid engaging with a Vivint salesman if they should come knocking on your door. We asked that he leave information with us so we could consider it multiple times and he avoided our requests using poorly crafted and aggressive sales tactics. He asked us questions like, "When you make decisions, do you usually go through all of the information? Or just some of it?" Shady all the way around. He initially stated that everything would be free if we were 'chosen' to be a part of their specialized initiative. I believe still that he was trying to get us to sign a contract with payments. He then asked for information about our neighbors asking if we knew them and asked if they were a younger couple like us. He said that Vivint is targeting that demographic. I politely told him that if wants to know, he can knock on their door and ask. He then got very frustrated and asked sarcastically if I really didn't know my neighbors. Very terrible, shady, rude, and aggressive sales tactics. I would avoid as much as possible read more

If I could give lower than one star I would. These guys have been awful from install to customer service to correct the install problems. They destroyed the sheet rock in our bedroom. They didn't have the right equipment. It took 4 hours. They second time they had to came back they gave a us 4 hour window and then waited less 45 seconds for me to answer the door and then left. Called them less than a minute later they couldn't couldn't get ahold of the guy who had just left my house. Then said they would have to reschedule. Who knows if they had the right equipment. I told them to just remove it all if they couldn't get it right. Customer service is awful and so is install. Buyer beware. Good pricing awful service. read more

This company has been harassing neighborhoods of southern Blue Springs the last couple weeks. Pushy salesmen, casing our neighborhoods, watching until people come home, and making multiple attempts to catch and confront homeowners who are actively trying to avoid contact. I first saw the complaints on NextDoor from nearby neighborhoods, then on my HOA's private Facebook page. Neighbors I dicated the salesman carries a list of names and addresses clearly sourced from public records, and will address you by name while claiming your neighbors gave him your info as a referral. A salesman has been to my house 3 times this week, going so far as confronting me while I was walking from my community mailbox back to the house and asking if I lived at the place he indicated. Your shady sales tactics are a reason why homeowners consider purchasing monitored security systems, but you are definitely not getting my business. read more

We had a alarm system installed and first problem we had was they set up a fake checking account because we didn't have one just so we would sign a contract with them. 2nd problem was the installation charge was suppose to be 100.00 off from 198 to 99. They tried to charge us the full price and I sent a copy of the contract to a manager via email. The manager said the 99.00 would not be taken because of mistake. 2 weeks later the monitoring fee was suppose to be taken from a CC. 2 weeks later we get a email saying we are past due on payment. Called Vivint about this and they said we owed over 300.00. They were trying to say we owed the 198 plus 2 months of monitoring when we hadn't had it but a month. They argued with us and refused to accept what our copy of the contract said. We do NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. Nothing but lies and deceit. read more

A young guy knocked on our door last night basically telling us they would like to use our house for "marketing" their new product. Said everything was free, failed to mention we would still owe a monthly fee for monitoring. Prior to signing the contract I had to talk to some other representative over the phone...she was the one who mentioned a monthly fee coming out of checking, not the salesman. After 1.5 hours of wasting my time at 9:00 pm, we said NO thanks. Basically, a bunch of lies and trying to obtain our $$$$. read more

I wish I could give this company zero stars. I am finally not under contract, and have terminated them. But, that took several months and numerous phone calls and hours and hours on hold. The equipment stopped working after the first month. They told me they would charge me $49 to fix their equipment! Gradually, the main control box stopped working. It quit connecting to my gigabit Internet service. So I went months and months without that being corrected, and had no service. This is not a problem for the company. It was only a problem for me. I eventually grew sick and tired of constantly calling them to get it fixed, and gave up. When I tried to cancel, they told me I would get an email in two days confirming that I had canceled the service. Week and a half later? No email. Finally, after waiting on the phone an hour, they finally terminated the contract. But not until they had charged me for an additional month. This company is not honest. If you want to cancel, even if you are entitled to do that, they will attempt to talk you out of it. Big surprise? Not really. I am now convinced there is no reason to have a monitored security system at all. Why? Because if someone breaks in my house, they will call me and ask ME if I want to call the police. Seriously. I was robbed twice while I had the system, BTW. Because it's worthless. If someone wants to rob you, they will do it! Do yourself a favor, and avoid Vivint at all cost. read more

I am beyond disappointed lately in my security company. I have had more issues in the past 6 months with my equipment and the customer service team that trouble shoot over the phone than I would ever want to deal with in 3 years. It's like pulling teeth to get a tech onsite to diagnose the issue and more than once in the past 6 months the equipment that they replaced worked worse than the equipment that was installed. The onsite techs are always very nice and respectable but I hate calling in to customer service!!!! All I got from Customer Service was "I'm Sorry". I appreciated the fact that they are sympathetic but that still doesn't give me back the HOURS and late night phone calls I have had to spend troubleshooting the system on the phone with people who are uneducated on how to properly diagnose and troubleshoot, or the 6 months of money back that I really couldn't use my security system. Reluctantly we resigned another 3 years with the promise of better and newer equipment. Then I was promised a one month credit....there was no follow through on Vivints end. I had to call back in because my card was charged and asked what happened. Apparently the CS Rep didn't fully submit it for approval. This customer is tired of making sure someone does their job. I never had these issues in the 10 years with ADT. When this contract is up I will be going back! Think before you sign people! read more
