Don't do business with these people without asking a lot of questions first. We signed up a week ago, and I'm still dealing with the fallout from a sales representative who misrepresented important details and omitted key information throughout the process. 1. Equipment Misrepresentation We were told we would receive two outdoor cameras and one Spotlight Pro camera. Instead, we were charged for three Spotlight Pros and three Outdoor Camera Pros. The installers put up the three Spotlight Pros but did not install any of the outdoor cameras listed on the order summary. I don't know many homeowners with a mid-sized house who need six cameras, so this immediately raised concerns. 2. The Equipment Loan Was Not Properly Explained: A credit check isn't unusual these days, and that wasn't the issue. The problem was that the credit check was being run because they were signing us up for a loan to finance the equipment. Had the sales representative been upfront about that, it wouldn't have been a problem. Instead, he presented the credit check as a standard part of the process and told us the equipment cost would be included in our Vivint bill. While technically true, that wasn't the full story. We didn't learn about the loan until after we had already signed the main Vivint paperwork. The equipment payment is financed through a separate company and added to the overall monthly cost that the sales person quotes. 3. Contract Buyout Process Was Oversimplified: He made it sound super easy and like you would not have to do much to get them to buyout your old contract. You have to send in all your cancellation paperwork and it takes time. Which is fine, but I would like to be told that upfront. 4. The Three-Day Review/Cancellation Period Was Never Mentioned: He omitted that we only had 3 days to review our contract and make adjustments if needed this Includes, equipment, cancellation, contract adjustments, etc. 5. Incentivized Reviews: During the process, we were asked to leave a five-star review in exchange for money off our order. After everything that happened, I can see why. If customers are encouraged to leave positive reviews before they've had time to evaluate the service, it creates very little accountability for poor sales practices. 6. Installation Scheduling Was Misrepresented: To receive an additional discount, we were told we simply needed to be flexible with the installation date and time. I specifically asked if that meant installers might come out during a week day whenever an opening became available, and the salesperson said yes. However, as he was leaving our house around 8:00 PM, he casually mentioned that we were next in the queue. An installer arrived around 9:00 PM and worked until approximately 12:30 AM, yet the system still wasn't fully installed. This was on a day where my husband and I both had work the next day. The installation wasn't completed until late Wednesday night. The entire situation left me feeling rushed and misled. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau against this company. I called Vivint to request that they send a technician out to do an audit of our equipment and what we actually have to make adjustments. They are sending someone out but the damage is done. I don't want to do business with them, but at this time they are not letting me cancel so I am having to work through the mess they created with their dishonest sales practices and lack of transparency. read more

I was living in TX until December 2023. In January 2024 I moved to California. They wanted $800 to transfer my account and for the installation of new devices. I cancelled my account and got a new company in January of 2024 that did the installation of new equipment. 6 months later Vivint send me an SMS and asked me if I want to restart services. I said no and asked them never to send messages again. Soon after I found out that they charged my credit card $45.56 monthly service fee. I don't even have their equipment. Stay away from them. My experience with this company has been horrible since day one. I was solicited to obtain service from what I thought was a reputable provider only to be let down. I moved to a new state and purchased a home then was solicited by the door to door rep who never mentioned my area required an alarm "permit". The permit was $50 (if i complied in the time frame) however i wasnt aware so i was fined $500 by the city because i was in violation 3 months later. Once i was already fined vivint then sent me a letter stating that i needed to obtain a permit which was too late and nothing was documented in any of their paperwork when i signed up that this may even be a possibility. I called in to see what could be done and was offered no options and the only explanation was "we are not obligated to research what is required" and that is fine but i think it does the customer a great disservice if a salesman in an area is selling alarms in a specific county and is not knowledgeable or fails to inform a customer of such important information. Then i inquired about cancellation and was told it be 4000 when at installation if i bought the equipment outright it was 2000. They are nice until you sign the contract once youre stuck youre stuck i would never recommend anyone to choose this company for home security. The customer service reps sound like theyre reading scenarios and dont even truly address your concerns. I give them a 0-10 the app is delayed i have a camera facing my driveway and a doorbell camera and visitors are already ringing the doorbell before any notifications come through. Go with another company. Vivint charges a premium price for a non premium product. The software is just awful. Super rough android interface, no way to run on a PC. I get constant timeouts, and failures to load when I try to open a camera. This wouldn't be an issue if this wasn't a security system. Lots of false activations and inconsistent behavior from the cameras too. I've had techs out to set the parameters and I have tried too. Good luck getting through to customer service, which is in India. They offer an additional service to have you get better holding times. So they know it is an issue. The protection plan also offers a way to not pay to have a tech come out, but they still generally charge you. I've been a customer for over 7 years. The original sales guy 7 years ago, yes he was great. He was really nice.....that was 7 years ago. My experience as a customer for 7 years has been awful. You're locked into a contract. I was paying nearly $100/month for one camera outside and a doorbell camera. Other people are paying far less. You finance the equipment for 5 years and they do not service it at all. When it needs to be upgraded, you have to pay for new equipment and re-sign another 5 year contract. Last week when I was ready to cancel, they got me. I re-signed a contract for an upgrade because my system isn't working, yet I'm paying almost $100/month. If I could give Vivint a negative score, I would. I never do reviews but I hope this review saves someone from making a huge mistake. By far the worse service that anyone could get. They drop off their sales reps into neighbors to sell their equipment, by having them promising things that do not exist. Example, I moved to multiple states due to work, #1 question I had was when I move again, do they move all the equipment free of charge. Of course, the sells rep says yes. Little over a year later when it was time to move, of course that was not the case. If you are moving and the people have Vivint in the house you purchase. You better ask the homeowners to call Vivint to either cancel or inform them they're moving out or Vivint will not set up a move out date for you because they cannot schedule a move in day. I moved out of my house in June.. Currently August and still not installed in my new house. ALSO, if you decide to ever get Vivint, HIGHLY suggest you record all their phone conversations. Great experience with Virtual Field Tech - Mr. Carlos Sotto-Alicia. This 5-star rating is based upon the service of Mr. Sotto-Alicia and not representative of how happy or not-so-happy I am with Vivint as a home security provider. I signed up for Vivint Security Alarm from my previous reputable name company security provider that mostly provides wired security devices and sensors. The Vivint installer back in 2018 did a very sloppy job and decided to bundle 9 window sensors consisting of an office, dining room, living room, breakfast nook, and utility-laundry room into one zone. The Vivint installer also bundled 4 doors as a single zone consisting of the main door, 2 garage doors that open into different house areas, and a backyard door. At least the lazy installer managed to get a few zones right such as the master's bedroom, 2nd-floor window, and the other auxiliary sensors (glass break, motion detector, heat/smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detectors). Long story short, because of the original installer's ineptitude, every time we receive an alarm, we can't pinpoint the possible intrusion or false alarm failure point. We have had an increasing number of false alarms recently even if all doors and windows are secured it will just randomly sound an alarm sometimes at 2 am or late at night while we are sleeping. Because of the faulty zoning, we were unable to pinpoint which sensor is bad. You can in principle replace all sensors to fix the issue but a very expensive proposition plus not fixing the issue of finding out a possible security threat area. I called Vivint many times and tried to schedule a visit since 2018 and all the time they just give me a runaround or will charge a hefty tech visit to fix an issue that they caused. It was not until Sept 1, 2024, after more calls to Vivint to seek assistance to resolve the issue was I finally directed to Mr. Sotto-Alicia who provided a great step-by-step video tutorial to correct the improper installation of the original Vivint installer. Mr. Sotto-Alicia was very patient in showing me how to isolate specific wired sensors and walked me through in isolating them and assigning them their correct zones. All said and done, he was able to assist in separating the living room windows, utility-laundry room window, office windows, living room windows, front door and back door. Now my home alarm are properly zoned with 8 zones plus the other wireless sensors. Mr. Carlos Sotto-Alicia with his patience fixed what many of his peers and colleagues failed to do in 6 years! I am glad I came across Mr. Sotto-Alicia who finally provide a reasonable resolution to an issue my family had to go through for the past 6 years. This man needs a raise and will do Vivint a favor by training the other techs and support team who seems to have a "no-can't do" culture. read more

I don't want to add a star. The equipment doesn't work as promised and as advertised. Here we are 5 months into the contract, and the cameras don't always work, and the continuous recording we were promised NEVER WORKED. The loyalty department stated the only reason the continuous recording doesn't work is because the toggle button is turned off on their end. The only solution to fix the problem is to pay more for something that doesn't work (as stated by the loyalty department). The company has bully tactics and once you are in the contract it is nearly impossible to get out of it, even when Vivint is in breach of their own contract. read more

I have been trying to cancel my account with Vivant all week. Our system is older, and they provided a quote to renew it. The quote was astronomical, and their products are subpar. Our cameras frequently go offline, and any time the thermostat batteries get too low it quits communicating with our HVAC. We decided not to bet on thousands of dollars of new hardware improving the system that much, so we removed it and replaced it. I spent half an hour waiting to speak to a representative to cancel. She repeatedly tried to talk me out of cancelling, pushing back that they would provide a discount to replace the system, which I kept explaining was no longer in use. She finally agreed to cancel the service. It then took a good 20 minutes for her to send me an email which required me to send back an email with a notice of cancellation. It has now been 48 hours with no response or acknowledgement that it was received. Of course they outline they will continue to charge a prorated cost until cancellation. So now they are continuing to charge me and refusing to acknowledge cancellation. For the love of God do not entangle yourself with this company; it will be a nightmare trying to get back out. A premium price for an outdated product with a poor app interface and a nightmare of paperwork and logistics. read more

1. Beware of the fees! This company charges you a ridiculous amount for their equipment. If you have to cancel their service then you are stuck paying $3000 for their equipment (just a monitor and window/door alarms). There are no returns. Life happens but Vivint does not adjust. So this Vivint feature was pointless to me. 3. The batteries!!! I changed them 3 times in 1 year. The batteries were not found at my local grocery store so I had to listen to the alarm beeping for days until Amazon delivered. 4. I was charged a bogus fee twice from false alarms. Vivint saga begins the night of March 7th when my doorbell camera was stolen (I had only lived in my house for a few months at this point). Camera records nothing and never even detected a person (which would have triggered recording and activated a floodlight). Disturbing that a security device couldn't even protect itself, which leaves me feeling vulnerable. A quick check shows the camera had been installed into the brick of my house using two drywall anchors and 1" screws, no wonder it was easily yanked off the wall. I contact Vivint and express my frustration on the installation and failure of the camera to function. They agree to replace the doorbell free of charge and somehow I'm also convinced to get another security camera and a server for continuous footage which then requires an upgraded panel. $1000 of equipment. My install date is scheduled from 4-8pm on March 10th. March 10th my technician shows up at 730 pm to do a job scheduled to take 3 hours. He immediately informs me that he doesn't have all the required equipment, and disagrees with my requested location for the outdoor camera. At this point I ask if he can just install the new panel and doorbell camera, which he doesn't want to do because 'it doesn't look good for him if he starts the work and doesn't finish.' I request to simply reschedule the full job (someone was going to have to come back a second day anyways with the rest of the equipment) and he *graciously* agrees to enter me as a 'customer no- show' and reschedule. Could not have been more clear he didn't want to do this installation at this time of day. I reschedule for March 13th. The morning of March 13th, a second technician 'Sean' comes (changing names). He's extremely helpful, great customer service, was very receptive of opinions from myself and my girlfriend on where to put the outdoor camera. Grade A customer service. Takes 5 hours but he leaves with everything working and me a happy customer. Just two issues: 1) The new doorbell camera was faulty and didn't function at night and 2) he apparently left with my account being inactive, which I didn't find out until a few days later. I call Vivint and schedule my THIRD technician visit of the week for March 17th to fix my doorbell. On March 17th, technician comes. Was helpful enough but made a few uncomfortable comments about how difficult his job is and how he deserves more money. Left with everything working (after two hours) so I was happy. UNTIL... March 18th, *Sean* calls. He's confused because the technician from the 17th left very negative feedback about his install on the work order and he wants feedback on his work. I told him I was confused because I was very happy with the job and it wasn't his fault the hardware was faulty. He proceeds to read feedback from the March 17th technician which includes multiple references to 'shitty installation', talked about how he deserves a raise and even used the phrase 'customer was eating out of my hand.' Um what?! It left me very confused and a little disgusted. Who talks like that? I called Vivint customer care to make sure they knew I was happy with Sean and his service. Cue today, March 26th, when the doorbell stopped working (again). After an hour on the phone troubleshooting, I now have my FOURTH technician visit in the last 16 days. Each one has a four hour arrival window so I will have spent about 24 hours in the last three weeks either waiting for a technician to arrive or having one here. This has required me to take three afternoons off work and tied up an entire Saturday morning. The system is just completely unreliable. I have devices spontaneously disconnect and reconnect all the time. This past Monday at work my app showed my overhead garage door being open so I had to call a neighbor to check (it wasn't). Lamp modules don't follow customs rules half the time. I even had a thermostat turn on the FURNACE when it was set to cool with the AC for the first time. The best part of this is after each my experiences I'm given a referral code to refer Vivint to friends. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. At this point I'm out $1,000 in equipment upgrades and am stuck with an unreliable service which provides me no peace of mind that it will actually function when called upon. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Update: my technician on March 26th was scheduled to come between 12 and 4. I was informed at 3:50 that my appointment was bumped to 4-8 because of an urgent break-in. I was *graciously* given a $15 bill credit for this inconvenience. My first post here was 8 days ago. I am still fighting with Vivint to cancel my home service and monthly subscription fee. There have been several calls since 8 days ago and I finally got a email confirmation from Vivint that they are canceling our service. That was 4 days ago. Their equipment is still working and since I don't trust them to do what they said I called today. I was told that it takes 30 days to process a cancelation request and that we would be charged another monthly fee but they would refund us that fee. What!! I told her to send me this policy in writting in an email and I would forward that to the FTC ( Federal Trade Commission) She then said she would have a supervisor call me back and explain the policy to me. I was a customer when Vivint was new to the market. Their customer service was stellar, they showed up at night and installed everything the same day. They guys were young but honest and eager. The option to move without cost and reinstall was cool, the option to call in if equipment got updated and get the updated version was cool, the option to add on later and roll in the cost was awesome....there were a ton of reasons I opted for Vivint. I worked with Kilami (My sales rep) multiple times sending referrals as I am a Realtor and sell this type of thing easily to my home buyers.... Then I moved and they gave me shit. Telling me it was $189 to uninstall and another $189 to reinstall my equipment. I argued that my contract didn't say that. Took me 2 hours to get them to agree to re-install at my new address and honor the contract I signed. As for uninstalling, I was told "It's easy, just do it yourself." I went to add on the 24 hour monitoring a while back and "I was too far into my contract to add anything. I'd have to pay for it outright." Ummmm....not what I was told at the beginning. Note, unless you buy this box, you aren't monitored 24/7... Now, 5 years later, 2 houses under my contract and I pay off the equipment....Somewhere around $3000 worth of cameras, wrist bracelet, doorbells, 24 hour boxes....it's all useless if I don't sign another contract to monitor. The app is useless. I don't have access to the app without paying to monitor. There isn't even a month to month customer retention program. Nothing. Then the customer service. TODAY I waited 14 minutes to get a person to be told I needed to contact Citizion Bank. Then I waited 31 minutes to get back on the phone to give my confirmation number only to be disconnected 4 minutes into the call.....no return call back. Then I call back and I wait 21 minutes to get a new rep, still trying to cancel and get info to learn my equipment is now trash. I had to request that she take my number down to call me back if we dropped. On top of all that, the signal is crap, the cameras always buffer or are delayed and it never seems to record when I need it to. Today I cancelled. Today is the first day in 5 years I have felt free from this mess of a company. I will not refer, I will warn every customer I come into contact with and I will leave this on Yelp, FB and everywhere else. Vivint is robbery. It's 2021, there are too many other options out there. Wyze, Ring, Blink. Arlo, Swann View, Simplesafe and these are just the first few recommendations out there when asked who is better then Vivint on FB. My son had an accident at her house and we were able to see how it happened with her system so I decided to see about changing our system from Simplisafe DIY to a better system. From the scheduling to the install, we had excellent service. The service reps that came to our home were very professional, courteous, and efficient. Lee and Diego called the day before to confirm the appointment information. They showed up on time, with PPE, and walked us through the entire process. They made helpful recommendations on the equipment and placement and then installed it in a very clean and proficient manner. The financing and monitoring are great. If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. My family had an incident in November which made us look into home security. We looked into Vivint, in order to have a tech come out you have to give a deposit. I had no prob doing that since they stated it was refundable. We eventually decided to cancel the tech coming out and go with Ring. I called Vivint to cancel and they refused to cancel and give me my refund, the guy actually hung up on me and scheduled my appointment 1 month later which I did NOT want. I didn't receive my refund, instead a text that next month for the tech coming out. I called and explained to a manager that I never approved that and requested my refund a second time, NEVER received. I even got an email for a refund but they never actually sent in the order. A week goes buy, and I get a text asking if I would like the schedule another appointment because they see on their files that I payed a deposit. I stated no, I would like my refund (THIRD TIME REQUESTING) and didn't heard another word from them. Two weeks go by after that and I call them requesting a refund (FOURTH TIME) and they gave me the same spiel and I'd receive it 3-5 days later and a confirmation email. I told the lady that I didn't believe her because this again is the 4th time this is going on about 2 months later. She said and I quote "WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT" attitude and all. I stated I would like my refund and if this doesn't go through that I will contact my lawyer within 5 days, because at this point they're refusing to give me my money back. At this point, I called my bank to start dispute a charge, they said they have to contact the company to approve it. I 100% bet they don't approve the dispute and I will be having to contact a lawyer. 'Dynamic' pricing is a red flag. I called Vivint yesterday inquiring about installation and pricing. Nothing on the web about definitive pricing but I did see 49.99 monthly with video. (ADT, which we've had since 1993 is no longer a good value; maybe never was. ) I had a good idea of what equipment I wanted I was quoted $ 2900 ! I said absolutely not. He 'spoke' with his manager and went down to $ 2000. Still no. Asked: "what are you willing to pay?' (strange question I thought). Pulled it out of the air: ' 1200 dollars '. Had to 'talk' to his manager again. He said it was tough but agreed to $ 1136 ! So what starts out as 2900 is now 1136...huh ? How does that happen ?? OK. How much for monthly monitoring: ' 60 dollars'. No, I said; I had seen 49.99. He says it can be done for $ 39.99. Damn....pricing is all over the place ! He can send a tech tomorrow he says. He'll need a 69 dollar deposit. Wait, Doesn't the tech need to asses first ? He said, It's ok, it's cancellable w a refund if i didn't agree. I never received a email of the agreement. The tech comes the next day. I was already suspicious. I asked if he was here to install or look over the house first. He was incredulous. All he knew that he was to install..period. I asked about what the pricing was. The equipment was over $ 1500 with 60 for monthly monitoring. ??? I cancelled. There was extra monthly monitoring fee for the extra cameras (never explained to me). After speaking with another rep ( or maybe it was the same one ), I was told that the rep personally gave me an extra $ 400 discount against his commission which is discretionary ! Poor Business practices. You are an alarm company that cannot guarantee its services or its equipment. You and your sales salespeople practice unethical means to get contracts signed and never follow up as they said they would. You can never get customer support long wait times and if you do it is over sea's when you request to speak with someone in the US it doesn't happen though Vivint is based out of Utah. Have complaints especially when it deals with my safety. You are an alarm service you cannot reach when the equipment is not working or any other reason very reassuring to me. You buy an alarm to know your house and family are safe, well think again. Not with the Vivant alarm system or its support team working. I have spent over six hours on the phone not getting anything done. No one could answer a question to get me to help most of my conversation was with the Philippines, yet a Utah-based company how American. The owners are Todd Pedersen · Keith Nellesen shame on you who send out your manipulating salesman with fraudulent claims. There is no way to reach corporate headquarters it 7 hours on the phone you can even reach anyone to cancel the service. Switching from Brinks to Vivint was one of the worst decisions I have made as a homeowner. I originally signed up with Brinks, and they did a good job securing my home. A Vivint re came to my home and sold me into switching services with the promise to pay off my Brinks contract (which never happened. Still paying for both services), and they could integrate my front door lock into the system, which I really wanted and Brinks could not integrate my lock. Everything was perfect, the installation went well, but they could not integrate my lock into the system (which was one of the main reasons I switched services). This came as a huge disappointment, but the new system was installed at that point, so I figured I basically got the same services I had with Brinks. Then came all the problems. One night when the family and I were fast asleep, the alarm went off at about 3 am. Thinking an intruder was surely breaking into my home, I armed myself and went to defend my family. After a quick search, I realized my home was secure. I checked all doors and windows, and everything was secure. It was a false alarm. The next night the alarm again activated at around 4 am. Again, a false alarm. I never had issues with my Brinks alarm having a false alarm. It was discovered there may be an issue with a senor. They sent it to me with self-install instructions. To avoid having them accuse me of installing it incorrectly, I had them come out to install the sensor. After a night or two, again, my alarm went off around 3 am. Again it was a false alarm at a different entry point. I reported the false alarm, and they again said they would send me a self-installed senor. By this time, it was also apparent that my Brinks contact had not been paid off. I brought this up to customer service, and they said they had discounted my monthly fee so the savings could go toward my Brinks payoff. I never agreed to such a ridiculous solution to paying off my Brinks. When I purchased the system, I would get a call from customer service to walk me through paying off my Brinks contract, which never happened. So, at this point, I don't activate my alarm in fear of being scared to death out of my sleep from a false alarm, and I am paying for two systems. The bottom line is, do not use Vivint!!! They don't keep their word, the system is susceptible to false alarms, and once you are locked into the system, customer service dramatically changes and is useless. I signed up with vivint in June of 2022, the sales guy seemed nice enough, made it seem like it was a great deal! Please explain to me how I am paying $4,000 for 2 outside cameras, 1 doorbell camera, 4 glass break sensors and the panel? I was told I was approved up to 4K not being financed for that amount. The system worked fine, as good as any system I suppose with random hiccups and lack of streaming on their app at times. Up until about 2 months ago when one of my cameras says offline. I tried all of the trouble shooting, contacted customer service twice and the only thing I was told was to go into my attic and find the wifi booster that is plugged in near the camera and "unplug and plug back in". (I didn't even know it was up there first of all) I told the lady on the phone that my husband is disabled and in a wheelchair - missing a leg, and I have a 2 year old. I can't get into the attic to check, not to mention it's at the very back of the house, so I would have to walk across the beams to get to it in a 140 degree attic. I told her I wasn't going to do that and I shouldn't have to. It's their equipment and they need to come out and fix it, since they couldn't do anything further to fix the issue with the back yard camera. She told me that I would have to pay $100 for a tech to come out and unplug it and plug it back in and hopefully that would fix it. Do you see how crazy that sounds? Would you pay $100 for a tech to come out and do that for you? I'm paying $67 a month to finance the equipment for 5 years that is outrageously expensive, and then $55 a month for the service of having them livestream my cameras basically. I told her I shouldn't have to pay $100 to have someone come out and do that and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor to try to get some assistance, they refused to get a supervisor on the phone. Then told me that I could pay $15 extra a month to have a "warranty or service plan" to where It would waive the $100 fee for a tech to come out. I tried to explain the fact that I shouldn't have to pay extra at all for someone to come out and fix their equipment that they installed in my attic without me knowing. They should have at-least asked where I wanted this thing plugged in at I would have told them in my kitchen or something to where I could access it. Now I have no working back yard camera and I'm very irritated at the lack of resolution on their part to get this fixed and handled. Poor customer service and ridiculously expensive prices! I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, and canceling my services, and I will fight them on their stupid contract they have everyone sign, since they are the ones breaching their contract. read more

I have been a customer for five years. I keep getting mistreated by customer service. We set up appointments they either cancel or don't show. And when you called to reschedule, they cancel on you the day before and if you get angry and complain, they hang up on you. I have been trying to get my camera and my door lock fixed for the past three weeks I took off work twice. They never showed up to do the repair And said they would give me two free months and rescheduled and still didn't show up again. I gave them another chance this week I scheduled for this coming Monday. They called me tonight and said they had to cancel the appointment and it was a computer problem and it automatically canceled, but they need to reschedule me for Tuesday when I said no because I had already been rescheduled prior. They in return said no it had to be canceled and moved to Tuesday and if I wanted to reschedule it, give them a call. Click, I don't know who else I can talk to. I've moved up the chains several times. This is the worst company with the worst customer service and the worst people who work for them if I could say anything else negative I would!!!!!run do not use them. I am looking for a new company! Vivint is by far the most deceitful, misleading and deceptive company I have ever crossed paths with. Vivint deserves no stars!! Please DO NOT sign any contracts with them. They do nothing but tell lies and make promises just to keep you past the trial period so you will have to pay for the equipment. Their sales reps will tell you anything to get you to sign up, and will not follow through with their promises. I tried to cancel several times during my trial period and each time, they promised they would compensate me for the inconveniences and get my equipment taken care of. After three weeks of going back and forth and being on the phone with customer service everyday, I finally had enough and tried to cancel. At this point, they now tell me I am past the trial period and have to pay for equipment that I either do not have in my home or has not been installed after three weeks. This company has no respect or care for consumers and only cares about making sales and trapping people into contracts. Not only did they not compensate me for the several inconveniences caused by them, their technicians damaged my ADT equipment during the installment that they were not supposed to touch and damaged many of my walls during their installment because their techs are not trained or certified to install this type of equipment. read more

Had to draw my pistol on one of their salesmen today. He began by knocking on my front door. I saw him on camera and ignored him. He proceeded to look in the front windows of my house and proceeded to walk toward the back of the house opening the gate to the back yard. He decided to giggle the doorknob of my garage door and went to the back of the house. At that moment in time, I decided that he may be a home invader so I exited the front door and proceed to go the back of the house. He once again jiggled the back door of my house and that is when I called him out with my pistol on low ready. He then tried to defend his actions by trying to reach the owner of the home and try to give us a free upgrade. Show whatever fake badge and gave the rest of the usual lies a typical door to door salesman will try to give. He really wanted to enter my house and inspect the security system and kept asking questions how many people lived there and blah blah blah. I posted the video of the offending idiot on nextdoor.com and facebook so the entire neighborhood is on high alert for that fucker. Maybe he will get shot for being stupid or burglarizing someone's home. Called the local constables and advised them of the person. They did find him and he indeed was a legitimate security salesperson. So beware of the company if they hire people like that. read more

Watch out. Be careful. If you have a need to discontinue the monitoring service for a legitimate reasonable reason (like selling your home, getting a divorce, going out of business) Vivint will not accept return of the equipment provided and will hound you for continued payments for monitoring even though you longer need the monitoring service This lack of customer respect occurred even after I paid in full for the Vivint equipment and having a Vivint supervisor agree over the phone to end the billing after thirty days. It is disgusting. I offered to give the equipment back for nothing to no avail since I no longer wanted to have anything to do with this company. read more

I just updated my home to a  Vivint smart home that does smart door locks, smart thermostat, light control, doorbell camera, Amazon Alexa, Google nest and better security. This was quick and painless- they saved me a ton of money and now I have a badass security system at my new home. I can view camera clips from anywhere in the world on my iPhone and I also got digital smoke detectors, indoor camera and light controller with my package! Only signed 42 month contract, filled out alarm permit online (easy and cheap) and customer service went through survey protocol on both my sales rep and installer- I had a great experience and both were very professional. Currently on the phone with them at 11:30 pm after they deducted $3800 dollars from my account, after being told that I would have a 5 year financing plan. I have had numerous calls about this in-which I was assured that this would be resolved. Spoke with customer service this past Friday and was told that I would have a call on Monday, NO CALL! Only a surprising deduction of $3800 from my account.
