Well the Vivint system does what it supposed to it doesn't do much beyond that! One of my cameras keeps timing out! The way it says to fix it is to reboot the panel. The tie you into a multi year contract with poor Customer service! The charge you a monthly fee, for what. The only way to add another camera (their limitations are 4 cameras) is to upgrade to a newer panel at 399.95, with a 129.00 installation fee. Currently one of my cameras doesn't give quite the coverage I want. They don't have a solution. They won't come out to check your system even if under contract without a fee! Ridiculous! read more

I was contacted by Andrew from Vivint, he offered us an upgrade to our system since we have been with the company for so long. Everything was great until the technician came to install the new products. He had no idea what we were supposed to be getting. He did not install something that we were charged $400 for, and he did not reattach things back to the panel. Customer service has been a nightmare to try and speak to someone and no one can figure out how to fix what these people did. Andrew has stopped responding to my texts. His phone number is 435-253-7086. I strongly encourage you to not answer his phone call if he tries to call! read more

Good luck getting a human to help. This company is definitely do it yourself. All they want to do is sell product. Definitely not local. Customer support is useless. No support and the techs are dumber than a box of rocks. This is a ripoff. Avoid them. Zero stars. read more

Vivint's equipment is decent, but the way they do business is seriously problematic. I was flat-out misled during the sales process. I asked specifically about damage to my rental home, and both the sales rep and installer told me Vivint would repair everything when I moved. That was completely false. When I moved to my new home, surprise: undisclosed $150 removal and $150 installation fees. And even worse--they suddenly "don't do" hole repair at all. So the one issue I made crystal clear during the sale was ignored just to close the deal. Customer service wasn't any better. When I expressed frustration, the rep reminded me the call was recorded (for no reason). He verbally offered to cover handyman costs, but nothing was ever documented. Their chat team couldn't pull up the call notes to verify anything. The tech works, but the sales tactics are slimy and the support is inconsistent. If you move forward with Vivint, get everything in writing. Verbal assurances mean nothing. read more

Do not fall for their "free trial." It is impossible to cancel! Submitted all paperwork and was told to wait for an email to return the equipment. No email came. Now I get an email asking for payment for the unreturned equipment. On hold now to resolve this, but regardless, they are not a reputable company! Go with ADT instead! Much friendlier customer service who actually speak English as their primary language. read more

PLEASE DO NOT SIGN-UP FOR VIVIANT! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO, I WOULD! My husband thought it was a good idea. We signed up being told as seniors we had a year to decide against the program. I thought that was BS, I figured maybe 30-days. All that was bogus. And the worst is that if the alarm system is breached by someone, no one contacts you to confirm if there is a problem! Get a REAL company to work with. I am stuck with a worthless piece of crap that I am paying thousands of dollars for! Don't get scammed as I was scammed! read more

"Michael" claiming to be an employee from Vivint visited my house close to 8:00 P.M. Wanting to show me the security system "deals" he has offered to my neighbors. I explained that I was not interested, and the young man insisted on carrying on a conversation about the deals. I think this type of approach makes potential customers feel uncomfortable and frustrated. It's hard to trust someone knocking on doors late in the evening using high pressure sales tactics. read more

Run like hell from this company. They operate as a protector from those who would do you harm but in actuality they are out to do you harm when you choose to discontinue their service. You may say why would I want to discontinue the service Well the equipment is weak and amazingly primitive. They are ruthless in their business practices in that they choose to refuse to set you free from their services. When you ask to discontinue their services they will happily place you on hold and never return. I wholeheartedly reject Vivint as a reputable business. read more

If I could give it less then one star I would. We were told lies on top of lies just to get us to agree to everything. We were told we had a 30 day free trial. Which we found out was a three day trial. We were told if we move houses it would be no charge to move equipment and that was not true you have to pay. Also our equipment keeps glitching out our motion lights only work when they want to. Our entry detectors will stop sounding off after awhile and we keep having to reboot. Our door lock keeps saying it's jammed and it's not. All in all your better off getting g a ring system for way cheaper and it's a lot better plan and simple. read more

Solicitor knocked on my door and started his pitch. I politely told him that "I am not interested, but good luck and have a good evening." He reasserted that I might be interested. I repeated that I am not. He reasserted yet again. I repeated myself again, this time with an agitated tone, and asked him to leave. He persisted and wanted to know why people aren't interested in his product. I told him that no one owes him an explanation and said goodbye. He stood there staring at me. I closed my door in his face. I can't imagine being a door to door solicitor and not only rudely interrupting someone's evening, but also refusing to leave when they asked me to. What kind of company culture leads to behavior like this? I don't want to know. I am laughing at all the responses to similar reviews about aggressive sales people. If this is still happening then clearly your company isn't actually addressing the issue. read more

Poor Business practices. You are an alarm company that cannot guarantee its services or its equipment. You and your sales salespeople practice unethical means to get contracts signed and never follow up as they said they would. You can never get customer support long wait times and if you do it is over sea's when you request to speak with someone in the US it doesn't happen though Vivint is based out of Utah. Have complaints especially when it deals with my safety. You are an alarm service you cannot reach when the equipment is not working or any other reason very reassuring to me. You buy an alarm to know your house and family are safe, well think again. Not with the Vivant alarm system or its support team working. I have spent over six hours on the phone not getting anything done. No one could answer a question to get me to help most of my conversation was with the Philippines, yet a Utah-based company how American. The owners are Todd Pedersen · Keith Nellesen shame on you who send out your manipulating salesman with fraudulent claims. There is no way to reach corporate headquarters it 7 hours on the phone you can even reach anyone to cancel the service. I guarantee you social media will be my next as well as the Attorney General's Office of Sean D Reyes. Shame on all of you I will keep finding other means too communicate the un Proffecitional practices of your company read more

This system is very good when it works!! I love the fact that you can access cameras from phone it is an amazing feature, but again when it works. I am paying 100 a month for this system and it does not work 50 percent of the time. The sales department that sold me the system lied completely. Every time I call customer care they are extremely polite and try to be helpful; however they fix the Jaime for two weeks and it happens again. Then I work out of town and have to come home once a week or every two weeks to issues. Of course you have to be at the panel. This does not work since I work out of town so much. If this system worked good it would be great. But since it does not I have to give it a thumbs down. I need to figure out how to get out of this contract. I would have to tell everyone to go with another service provider. Especially if you work out of town or don't like being on the phone with your service provider once a week or once every two weeks. read more

Honestly, I was really optimistic about Vivint. However, the awful customer service, terrible software, worse firmware, and overall lack of operability have made me change my mind. The product is great for the 10% of the time it works. Live stream video quality? Garbage. There have been better live video feeds since 2010. Oh yeah, and they lock you into a contract. No escape. Save yourself thousands and go buy a raspberry pi and learn to code yourself. Better yet, pass the project onto your kids and tell them you'll give them $2k when it's done. Most students in middle school could make Vivint's entire team look like toddlers. read more

I was not informed of any contract terms or choices. I was asked for a credit card for an immediate credit inquiry. The agent made a sexually inappropriate comment towards me on the call. Customer service is badly organized. Nowhere could I get a cancellation number or confirmation of my cancellation call to them. And who makes sexually inappropriate comments at all? Will be taking this further up the chain. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! We were deceived when we signed up with the agent saying it would only be a 12 month "trial" contract. We tried to cancel then and found out we were in a 40 month contract that could not be broken. Okay, fine. We have an alarm system. Fast forward to 9 months shy of fulfilling our contract. My husband has become 100% disabled. We are forced to sell our home and move out of state to live with a relative because we have no money, no income (mandatory 6 month waiting period for SS). Give Vivint a call, even spoke to a supervisor, the ONLY way for a medical exemption to cancel service is if you have dementia, alzheimer's or are a disabled vet. After I post this, I'm posting to every social media site I can think of, including the BBB! read more

Vivint has targeted our community with door to door salespeople. I posted something on Nextdoor neighbor website and have received 15 complaints from other people complaining about there AGRESSIVE SALES Techiques. They have scared older people, chased women into the garage even ask for someone to use there AAA for the benefit of the sales rep. My experience was very bad, I was coming home getting ready for my wedding in less than two hours and the sales guy would not stop asking me questions. I found out that he pushed himself into my home talking to my soon to be wife want8ng to look at the control panel. He scared my bride! Vivint these type of techiques will put you out of buisiness. Remember the old saying one bad apple will ruin them all. I think it might be wise to look at how unethical business practices almost ended a mega bank like Wells Fargo. I ask the readers of this posting not to do business with a company that deals with people like this. read more

All of the mixed emotions. Let's start with the positive . I love the system it's great as far as the mobile app you can lock your doors with the app close your garage door see if your kids are sneaking out your window it's fabulous now for the down side the sales rep are In no way shape or form honest or transparent. The sales practices are super deceptive and the system is limited in the number of cameras you have and the space you can really see with the maximum of 5 cameras . The customer support is actually very friendly and helpful however I think the get their fair share of frustration from customers regarding the sales team . I think they are doing the best they can . I have this 3 stars even thought it really only deserves two because to be honest I have looked at many companies and no one has the same technology and ease of convenience. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I apparently signed a "5 YEAR CONTRACT" 5 years ago. I have called in multiple times through tough financial times and pleaded to cancel service. They don't have a cancellation fee other than pay the remaining amount in full. No help was ever an option with this company. I even had a customer service agent being sarcastic and rude with me because the hardship that I've had. Absolutely horrible company and so glad to be through with them. I have heard nothing bad about simply safe. Sounds like a much better monitoring service. read more

Avoid!!! This company takes advantage of seniors. Check with the Better Business Bureau before concidering doing business with this company. As of today they have 780 negative reviews and 0 positive reviews. We had a horrible time with Vivint. They saw a ADT sign in the yard and appoached my elderly parents stating that ADT was going away and that they were there to replace the ADT system. They sold them an overpriced system that came with cheap indoor only cameras. They promised to pay off the remander of the ADT contract, but that was a lie. Everyone involved in this company is shady. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER... Entered into contract for "services" one year ago. Part of the discussion with Vivint's sales person was the fact that I would be moving out of the rental I was living in and into a new home within the year. I told the salesman that I would hold off changing security companies or entering any contracts IF there were any problems moving the system. I received assurances that moving a system with Vivint was no problem. Here we are a year later and I am excited at the prospect of my new home so I call Vivint "MOVING" services. First of all, they advise that it will take two appointments to accomplish the move even though the new home is less than 5 minutes down the road from the old residence. Of course, each appointment requires a two hour window. Secondly they tell me that the charge for moving the system is $129. I tell the "moving" agent that the salesman told me that I'd get one move at no charge and he tells me --- "You will have to call your salesperson and he will have to enter a credit for the move." Wait, what??? The salesman had to bait me with that otherwise I NEVER would have agreed to a contract and basically I am SOL and either going to pay the 129.. this company isn't concerned with keeping their customers beyond the contract period...and obviously not overly worried about bad PR. Third, I am told that I can uninstall the equipment but not to worry about the door lock or the camera (no mention though i suspect they will add on another 600 bucks for "new" equipment) --- but i have to remove all door and window sensors (which were there from a previous install) or else I have to pay them for all new sensors. So basically if I want ONE trip charge I have to climb ladders and remove motion sensors, glass break and door sensors??? Pull the sky panel and leave the door lock and the door bell (which my leasing company will ding me for). So basically... there is no "service" with Vivint, they don't care what a salesman tells you I'll be passing all this along on every social media channel available and with the Better Business Bureau, the NM Attorney General and any other agency I can find. I may have 4 years on this contract but I damn sure won't engage any Vivint entity EVER again. read more

We had an alarm go off in our home while we were away and Vivint never called us. We were told that our phone number was only listed as the customer and not the emergency contact. Even after they did not reach the emergency contact they NEVER made any attempt to notify us. In the past they have always called us "the customer" but now they are saying that's not the case. After being on the phone for over an hour I caught them in several lies, including that they did not have my number. The main panel in our home is always beeping and we have to reset it often. Don't waste your money, this company is the worst! read more

Alarm system is always needing to be rebooted and cameras are always offline. Tech support takes forever to troubleshoot issues. They make you pay for a tech to come out and look at your equipment. I was told I would pay a certain price for 2 years to pay off equipment and then my bill would become lower but found out that it will stay the same until 2021. Long contracts and bad customer service. I will be disconnecting service when my contract is over. read more

I received a phone call from vivent at 12:02 am stating that there was an alarm triggered. The alarm never sounded nor did anyone talk to me over the smart device. I called them and the girl told me that they would send a new sensor for $40. She could not explain why the alarm never sounded. I pay over $80 per month for this non-service. Stay away from this company. read more

The equipment is great. The customer service is terrible. I have been with them since 2014. Can't get out of the contract. The sales people were very nice but once they have you,it's all about money. Don't go there! read more

I've had Vivint for two years now and they have been the best out of 3! The two way voice is great-when the alarm goes off, they call you on the speaker to make sure all is well :) great comfort for us! The features on the cellphone app is amazing-being able to lock the door, change the temp. Arm the system, turn on the light, from anywhere (I'm a space case so this is very useful) and the live video has great resolution as well as night vision! The coded lock is also cool-no more making keys for family-lol--I'm barely writing this review because I just added another camera and smoke detector and they came out and surprised me with how amazing they are to us as customers and to each other ( I was being nosy and heard the convo from the tech who came out and the rep on the phone) they were professional, kind, and respectful to one another :-) I have to say, yes it might be a bit more pricey than another company but I've never been more confident with our home security and happy with their customer care! :-) just waiting on outdoor surveillance cameras-lol read more
