It took a month of back and forth emails with the owner Tabatha to convince her to let me come back to the salon to show her what my hair looks like and she agreed to fix it. Now, after the fix it appointment, my hair has three distinct colors starting from the top of my head down to the ends and it looks ridiculous. I expected them to be accommodating and agree to continue fixing my hair until it was the color that I asked for but I was treated like it was an inconvenience to do the right thing. Tabatha informed me that she expected me to pay to fix their mistake so I told them that I would not return. Alexis, the stylist, muttered "Perfect" under her breath as I walked away because she was happy that they got rid of the problem they created and now they don't have to continue working for free to do the right thing. Beware of salons that don't stand behind their work and treat customers like an inconvenience.

I've been to Alexis every time, and she impresses me every time with her attention to detail and vision to help create the look I'm looking for. Great appointment availability, the salon is a super welcoming, clean, and professional environment, and I will go back as long as I reside here!

I have been going to Duncan Edwards on and off for years and have been satisfied with the results…read moreuntil my last visit. I scheduled a full head of highlights and half way through Aaron told me he was only doing a partial. I trusted his "expert" advice and went with it. When he finished the partial he showed me the front and it did not look too bad. However he did not take the time to show me the back. When I got home I checked the back in the mirror and it looks terrible LOL! No wonder he didn't show me the back!!! The front of my head is highlighted and the back is brown!!! I'm now an official freak! I'm going back to have it "fixed" and I will update the review afterwards. Fingers crossed :P I do not recommend it to anyone, unless you want to be a freak like me. Cheers! So I went back at 10:45am which was agreed upon verbally with Aaron. However, when I went back they told me that it was 12:45pm. I was fine with it, but when I asked to be given a card to have proof of the the time the front desk attendant told me she couldn't. So I insisted since I did not want to have to deal with the time being "wrong" again and eventually she prints the appointment details out. So I leave and come back at the updated time and Aaron and I start to argue about my hair. Basically he would not apologize and admit that he jacked up my hair. So he says it's best if I leave and get a refund. Which is fine by me. But then right before I leave he says that I was rude to the front desk attendant and calls me disgusting. Wow! I did't say anything rude to the front desk attendant I just insisted on receiving a card for the appointment so I would NOT have to keep coming back at the "wrong" time. No idea what he was talking about. But he is disgusting and this business is abusive. I would't recommend Duncan Edward European Hair Design to my greatest enemy.

That never happened. I ended up with one of the students wrapping my VERY LONG hair just like a regular perm on spiral rods - horizontally with the ends buried under layers of hair. I stopped her once to clarify that it was supposed to be a spiral perm and the way she was wrapping it wouldn't create the curls I wanted. She assured me she was doing it correctly. I let it go assuming the instructor would come over and check the wrap before the activator was applied and catch the problem. It would've been a pain to sit through half of my head being rewrapped but it's a school and I figured it would be a learning experience for both students to see the importance of how the hair is wrapped to create the desired effect. Unfortunately, the instructor never checked on their progress, even after they went and requested help/direction twice. In fact, the instructor (whose license both students were working under) left before they finished wrapping my hair. Ultimately, what I ended up with is slightly wavy hair from mid-shaft to the ends on part of my hair, two entirely different curl patterns through the parts that actually curl down the full length of my hair (one of which is actually spiral, yay!), and some completely straight pieces where I'm assuming the activator couldn't penetrate the multiple layers of hair or a 2nd bottle of activator should've been used. I didn't expect the results to be perfect, it is a school after all. What I did expect that there would be some attempt at supervision/instruction so that the students weren't just guessing at what they were supposed to do and my results would at least be consistent with a spiral perm. Despite all of this, I will try them again, I just know for next time that I need to speak up and ask for the instructor to check things when it seems the students are floundering.

Little did I know that she didn't know what she was doing either. I went in for a loose spiral perm and came out with straight fuzzy hair. And it's falling out and breaking off. I've probably lost a half a cup of hair in one day. I didn't say anything while I was in the salon, because I did not want to embarrass the student. But as soon as I got in my car, I called and left a message for the supervisor to call me back..That was two days ago, she has still not returned my call.
