But when I explained I actually had an appointment, I was directed by Erin--who was supposed to be my stylist--to take a seat in the small spot acting as a waiting room. She introduced herself from the nearby chair (maybe 10-12 feet away from me) while she was working on her client's hair. I sat down. The client said softly to Erin, "Sorry," presumably for exceeding the length of the appt, but that's not her fault obviously. Erin said loudly, "I'm not! I knew this was going to take a long time!" Because this is a small shop, I'm new, and I'd already felt like I'd intruded where I wasn't welcome, I said, "Oh, I'm in no hurry!" But I wondered, if she knew her service was going to exceed the time frame she'd booked for her client, why did she book me in that time frame? And 20 minutes passed. No acknowledgment of me. No offer of water, coffee, nothing. No gratitude for my patience. I didn't exist. Or, worse. I felt they wanted me to leave. During this time, Erin gossiped with her client, asked her client if she wanted her to rewash her hair, she cut every single hair in the client's bangs and then went over them again (I've really never seen anything so vain--though I'm sure it was an awesome cut), curled the hair again, cut another hair, talked about so and so's husband and then paused for awhile to just gape at her work and to talk some more. And never once a nod toward my existence. I wanted to cry. It felt deliberately mean girl. So, I stood up and put on my coat. At that, Erin asked, "Are you cold?" I said no, "I'm leaving." And I think the client asked, "You're leaving?" But not a word from Erin or the other stylist there. And I left. No one cared that a client left. No one has contacted me. This was so mean. Living a block away, this experience was a disappointment for me with the Tenney-Lapham business district.

I mainly booked with the girl who colored me, because I had heard such rave reviews elsewhere, and…read moreit seemed she was booked up for months. Suddenly, an opening came up that worked for me. I have never felt so rushed or dismissed at a new salon with a new colorist. Did not ask about what I did or anything about me. What would normally take 1-2 hours to foil, took her about 20 minutes. She looked concerned when rinsing and kept rubbing and mentioning the toning of the warmth didn't really work. My hair after this color began falling out in chunks, and I'm still trying to remedy the damage 5 months later. It is not Aveda color that is used, though it's misleading because it seems to bill itself as an Aveda salon. The color is apparently from Italy and "much gentler" than Aveda. Well, I can tell you it absolutely fried my scalp and torched my fine blonde hair. I now I am considering an expensive wig, because my clip in extensions are too heavy for my bio hair to hold on to. :( Stay far away!!!!!

Hair and makeup is such an important part of not only the brides day but also her bridesmaid. DO…read moreNOT book them. Not only was Angela probably the rudest and worse vibe to be around the day of, her style for hair is stuck in 1980. One of my bridesmaid showed a PONYTAIL with a few curls she gave her a 8 inch bump in her hair and 3 awful pony tails. When my bridesmaid tried to speak up Angela was SO rude and blamed my bridesmaid and "kind of" helped fix it. My entire wedding party re did their hair and makeup at the venue. She has young talented girls that work with her but she refused to let them help with follow up. Her breath reeks. She is incredibly over priced. I cannot believe people book this lady. If you're looking for a 80's throwback party she's your girl. If you're looking to have a good experience before your wedding day you better run the other way. I quite literally want to put in a request to my bank for fraudulent charges bc not a single bridesmaid looked good or deserved the treatment they got from her. Youre horrible at your job.

Had my first appointment at this salon after purchasing a groupon. Making an appointment was easy,…read moreand I had a great experience with Brittany. After discussing my hair goals with her, she suggested a different approach than the service for which I had purchased my groupon. The cost was equivalent, so they took the groupon with no extra fees. Brittany helped me select a color that looked great, and would work best with my hair and I LOVED the cut. I'm not totally sold on the organic dye - it didn't hold its color as well as conventional dye. I don't get my hair colored often but this dye washed out a lot over the next few weeks (I could see the color in the water when I washed my hair), which I've never had happen before. I purchased the shampoo and conditioner which Brittany recommended (to build protein), and after using it for a couple of weeks I switched back to my regular shampoo. I really didn't like the way my hair felt/looked while using their products. Definitely recommend for cuts and style, would recommend their coloring services if organic product is the most important factor to you, and would probably stay away from their hair care products (although YMMV - perhaps they'll work great for you).
