Terrible customer service. Unreasonable and unprofessional. Find another tanning option.

I have been spray tanning at this location near West Towne for the last two summers, and have never…read morehad anything but a positive experience. Let me clarify...I have spray tanned at other tanning chains prior to going to Sun Tan City. Let me share with you what a truly bad spray tan experience can be: 1) they run out of tanning spray but no one realizes it until you're standing naked in the machine; 2) you are spray tanned IN HALF. Yes, right side tanned, left side white, and 3) staff continually pressure you to buy one of their package plans or become a member, and if you don't, they totally ignore you. Not once have I had anything close to this happening to me at this location, and what I described above happened to me at 3 different tanning salons in Denver. Now, no one at this location has ever instructed me on how to spray tan, but a quick check on YouTube shows the process of how to use a VersaSpa spray tanning booth. There are also very large instructional posters on two walls within each of the tanning booths that show you what to do. I really like that the machine has a large display that shows you what the staff programmed in for you. So, if you asked for a light tan, and the display shows the person programmed in dark, you can pick up the phone in the room and call the front desk. They have regular promotions that you get via email, which have always worked for me. This summer alone I've had .99 cent spray tans, half priced spray tans, and two free spray tans with their promotions. No one ever pressures me to buy a package, however, the staff have sometimes forgotten to mention a package that would be beneficial. For instance, if you spray tan once, I believe it is $24.99. But they have a 3 tan package for $49.99, which is obviously a better deal. The staff typically won't mention that deal unless you ask about it. I see on some of the other STC locations reviewed on Yelp that theft of credit card information has been an issue. Again, this has not been an issue ever for me at this location. In fact, on my second visit here, I took off and left my wedding ring in the tanning room. I didn't realize it until I got home. I called in a panic and fortunately, not only had one of the staff found my ring, but they put it in their safe until I could pick it up the next day. This is a good quality tanning location. It's clean, and I have never found the staff to be anything but friendly.

Long wait times and snarky staff. Sometimes you can stand at the desk for a couple of minutes…read morewithout being acknowledged while staff chats with each other.

Since I am an empathetic person, sometimes to a fault, I just kept trying and assumed she was very busy. Two years later and I still haven't heard back...but after reading these reviews I am OK with flushing that money down the toilet!

When I called to make an appointment she kept me on the phone for ten minutes explaining how frustrated she was with living social and that the wrap won't do anything-- I needed to purchase a package for 8 sessions to see results. It just got worse when I got there. I arrived a few minutes early to my appointment and was unsure where to check in so I peaked my head into her suite where the appointment was and said, "hello?". She didn't even say 'hi' she just said, "Oh don't come in yet, I'm not ready" and hurriedly shut the door. When I was ready to come in she made me undress in front of her stating, "It's ok I've seen lots of bodies, it's like I don't even see them anymore. I've even had whole families in here naked for spray tanning before. It's pretty cool." (What??) I was not properly draped and felt uncomfortable. The wrap consisted of being lightly swiped over with exfoliating gloves, then rubbed (barely touched) with the lotion. She then put a fleece blanket, heated blankets, and some thermal blanket that looked like a space blanket and let me 'bake' and put on Christmas music. After about 20 minutes she came back in and took off the blankets and put a cold pack on me to 'cool me off' (I was already freezing from the blankets coming off and this made me feel nauseous) She lifted up the little fleece blanket (the only thing covering me) and fanned me with it, making me feel exposed once again. The only good thing was the five minute massage she gave me at the end. Durring all of this let her cell phone ring not once, not twice, but 5 separate times on loud and answering it as she walked out of the room (apparently she hasn't figured out how to put it on silent?) I purchased one as a gift for a friend as well and was refunded my money because I didn't want to subject anyone I know to that. She claimed to be an expert at spray tanning, though. Maybe she should just stick to that.
