The wax-ists at the nail places tend to favor a thinner brow shape than I generally prefer for myself. I have naturally thick brows and what I'm really looking for is a cleaned-up version of my natural shape with the bushiness under control. It was thanks to Yelp that I found Cora. I liked the idea of going to an actual aesthetician since the goal was doing something a little nice for myself every 4-6 weeks. The salon space is small, really in the lower level of a building under a coffee shop. If it weren't for the sign out front I might have missed it. It's not that far from where I live so I'm not making my little ritual into a difficult errand. Cora is really nice and works with my schedule. I do a brow and lip wax and the price is really reasonable. I have gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows, including from people who either haven't seen me in years or don't normally notice eyebrows. Cora doesn't make them too thin or lop off the tail end on the left side like some of the other places were doing. I get to keep my "natural" look but look polished at the same time. I'm really glad I found this place.

We searched online and found this shop not far from our hotel. After calling and getting lost for the 7 minute ride (lol), we drove up with our service dogs in tow. The staff didn't even blink or give us a hard time about the animals. We really appreciated that! The salon was clean and open. It was very busy but they got to us and we didn't feel rushed. We both got a detox pedicure. I nearly fell asleep in the chair and my friend was humming! That's good work!!! Both dogs took naps! Happiness all around! The staff offered cold beverages and a menu of services. We felt pretty and pretty relaxed when we left. I highly recommend this business. Go looking for it. I could hear some noise through the walls that disturbed my serenity, but that wasn't the masseuses fault. Pedicure: I'm used to a little more time on the front end of the pedi - you know scrubs and rubs and soaks and things, but it wasn't bad. I was super doubtful of the polish job, but I stand corrected two weeks later and not a chip from the regular polish. They offer to let you keep your scrubber as is status quo these days. Changing Area: Big fan. The locker area is smallish, but it's just what it needs to be. It could do with a table or stool or something to set things on temporarily. Then there's a small seating area, shower area, toilets, and THE STEAM ROOM. The showers were great - I could have stayed in that multi-headed shower of goodness for a long long time. The steam room was great. I have absolutely no experience from whence to draw conclusions from but it was steamy and dark and made me feel as though all the toxins I had worked up the night before were leaving my body. Staff: All super friendly. What I did find odd was that the staff all seemed to do many jobs - a masseuse and a nail tech also both did hair. It's certainly possibly they have well-rounded certifications, but it was strange to me. The downstairs greeter woman did a good job showing everyone where to find lotion, mouthwash, and razors, among other things. What was lacking was more direction on where to be and how to do things. Overall....I enjoyed it very much. There were small details that I would notice were off from a high end professional spa, but they didn't deter me. It's trying very very hard to be great and it's almost there. The devil is always in the details.

She never put a headband on my head and instead of removing the exfoliating material off my face she rubbed it into my hair. This I only noticed after the facial was over. No proper facial massage. She just kept applying different creams to my face and wiping at them. Waste of money.
