Went in a Monday night, after waiting a month to get a fill (nails just raggedy, and my nail shape left so much to be desired). There were only about 3 ladies working, and about 5 customers. It seemed at least 3 of the customers were regulars, which I took as a pretty good sign. You know the area of town this is in, so you can guess what it looks like. It's the type of place that is clean, but makes you squint to be sure. Very no frills- no wine, no pimped out decor (this is Marlboro pike, not DC). Very limited OPI and Essie polishes, most look old (I also recognize I'm 1 of very few people that gets regular polish on their acrylic). The staff is friendly and welcoming, and not very talkative (which is A+ in my book). There's a tv to distract you and pedi chairs do the massage (but again, no frills so manage your expectations here). The pedicure tubs are clean but they don't line them with disposable plastic. They SLAAAAAYYYYYEEDDDDDD my coffin shape. Caught myself gazing at them even a few days later. Oh yea, and I saw a lady finish up with some bomb nail designs (diff design on each finger, details matter). If that's your thing, it looks like they do that pretty well too. Summary: Efficient. I was a bit skeptical because the more recent reviews didn't have a good ratio, but I am new to the area and decided to try. It looks awful from the outside. I called before I came and she said no wait. So I come in and get seen within 3 minutes. I got a gel manicure ($25!) and pedicure ($20!) and eyebrows $7. I posted the prices for your convenience. It was a great job, and I was out within an hour! I'll let you know how the gel holds up. Kim was very nice. I will note one thing. There was a woman who started her nails before me, and it was acrylic so it took longer. She said she then wanted to do feet (I'm not sure if she said that before) and the guy said it would be a 20 min wait because he doesn't do feet and some other folks didn't either. Okay so once again I'm on the hunt for another nail salon. It will not stop!! Lol Anywho, I looked down and my nails needed to be done wearing dark colors you can really tell growth. So I googled and this spot came up. The strip mall needs updating bad the shop however is dated but clean. The bathroom is old and very small but clean but the wax station, think twice? I didn't have an appt and they took me right in at 4pm on a Thursday. Gel manicure and regular pedicure. Sweet older lady did my pedi. I don't need much and she did just fine. She really extra massaged my feet and legs really good. She also polished well and cleaned up the mistakes made. I was satisfied. My nail lady was 1st chair right side. She did fine. My nails are really short but can be jacked up in the wrong hands. She had a steady hand with gel placement not thick at all which is a good thing however messy in the cuticle area. She cleaned up as she went but she needs to tighten up. Would I go again? Yes Am I still looking? Finally!! I have found a nail salon that does my nails without them looking bulky and abnormal. The techs here are extremely nice and the service is amazing. The location may not be in the best spot but I will certainly be back. I went on a Saturday and they did have a afternoon rush but it was well worth the wait. Found this place on yelp. Recently moved and need a new nail spot. Our experience was ok. On the outside it looks a little shabby. Inside, slightly better. Nothing a little bit of paint and maybe a call to merry maids couldn't fix. While there we witnessed an older woman sweeping but with the amount of dust by the hairs and drying station that doesn't happen often. Now to the nails. My daughter needed a fill in, 2 nail repairs and a cut down. She was happy with the service and the price, $25.00. I was going to get acrylic over my natural nails. They are thin and I wanted try to prevent chipping or breaking. A woman wanted me to get something else, kept saying "gel color because it last longer". Don't really care about the color lasting longer because I would come back and switch colors often. She tried again, I explained again. She then shakes her head and says "I don't know, I don't know". Umm what don't you know?? At this point I'm a little turned off so she goes back to finishing my daughters nails. Another person motions for me to come over. No thank you, I'll go somewhere else. I can tell they do good work because they had a number of regular customers. Good sign right? Idk. May give them another shot later. Oh, and upon leaving I could have sworn I saw the same lady that was sweeping go to the basket and sort out the disposable paper feet footies they give you after your pedi. Ummm what are you doing? The plus to that is it is right next door to a food spot...it is Mexican food...my absolute favorite!!!!!, so if that's what you like and are hungry, it's very convenient. One of the ladies from there came in and offered everyone fresh watermelon and fresh mangos. I passed on the opportunity, but it looked sweet! Back to the nails..... I had Linda and she gave me a pedicure, which was much needed. I hadn't been since December...bad, I know. Anyway, she took care of me. She did what needed to be done with my feet. I went in on 3/20/21 to get a full set. I had a appointment for 1:00pm, but it was 3 other people that came after me went first. I was approached by the receptionist at 1:20 to tell me that I have to wait 20 more minutes before I get my nails done which would've been 1:40pm. I ask the lady why did the other people that came after me get seen before me? She said everybody can't do acrylic which was bull. Mind you I went there before and the 2 people they let skip me had a nail tech that knew how to do acrylic. One of the Asians even went and got a Caucasian from her seat to tell her to come get her "acrylic" done and she also came after me. I will never go back and I suggest you don't either. It's my first time here, got gel manicure done Friday evening from Linda. I really, really liked it at first.. but when I got home, I realized the top of my middle finger was rough, like the polish wasn't laid smoothly. So I went back in less than an hour and another lady (young and chubby) fixed it for me. Then two days later while I'm showering, I realize my hair keeps getting stuck in my nails, and my cuticles were extremely choppy. When I checked, my hair was stuck at the top of my nails because it started peeling (see photos). So I went back on Tuesday but realized they were closed so I went back today, Wednesday. As soon as I go in, no one greeted me. Instead, Linda and that same, young lady just stares at me from the back of the store. So I said, "Um, can you help me?" and that's when they start to walk to the front. Linda goes, "What you want?" I said, "Hi, I wanted to show you my nails because it's only been a couple days but the top started peeling. Then, the other younger lady grabs my hands, feel the polish, says something to Linda in their language. She then says, "You peel there?" And I said, "What? No, why would I do that. That's a silly question". When I said that, she walks away in the middle of our convo... so I look back and say, "So, what can we do?" and she said she didn't know, she never had this situation. So I said, "Well, you tell me, I've been getting gel mani's a very long time and it never peeled like this in a matter of couple days. But can you help me? You're the specialist." Then she says you can take it off.. but I told her it was okay, because I liked it but just wanted to know if she can smooth it out. She said, "I mean, yeah, but the color not the same after," but at this point none of it mattered because I was annoyed so I said it was fine, I just didn't want anything to get stuck in my nails anymore. She said okay and used the machine filer? (don't know what it's called) to smooth it out. During that time, I was looked down by Linda. Her and the girl doing my nails started going back and forth, talking in their own language. Although I didn't know what they were saying, they were laughing and staring me down. I was very offended by how rude and unprofessional they were in handling this situation, and I was humiliated by their own lack of skills. I will not be going back, this experience was definitely NOT worth 25 bucks so please take caution yourself if you do decide to go here. read more

I would have given Vivian Nails 5/5 stars because their work is fabulous. However, I am very big on cleanliness. I don't think they sterilize their equipment and the lack of ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. They are located in a little shopping strip. There seems to be plenty of parking. This is more of a "you get what you pay for" type of situation. I am used to walking in and being greeted with a glass of wine or water etc but what good is that if the customer service is lacking (see review of other salons)? Both ladies that did my nails/toes were patient, kind, and most importantly took their time. Finally a place that knows how to treat their customers. If I could pick this place up and drop it in another location then they would have gotten 5/5. I will be returning probably with my own tools though. read more

Katie did my nails and I was very pleased with her work. She made a little mistake and fixed it without complaining or anything. Everyone there was friendly and courteous which is a huge difference from many other nail shops, and they took their time working with you. The experience was not rushed and it shows in the work. So I go back one more time...three damn nails break in two weeks. They must be using subpar product. Also, it's not the cleanest establishment. After 1.5 after my pedi was finished i was told i had to wait another 45 mins to get my nails done. I will never go back to this tash box again. I tried to give them a second chance after the first time they made me late for work because they didnt know how to use their own credit card machine. For some reason when I go to other nail salons I always end up having to go back before my two week fill-in is due, but with this salon my nails last a long time with no problems. They have a wide variety of colors and all of the technichians have at least 15yrs of experience so they all know what they're doing, and with other salons I have to wait on the "good one" which can take forever but all of em here are good so this is the only salon I really go to now unless I'm desperate. Just like another review said.. The ambiance is defiantly lacking. However the quality of work is Superb here! I love them. It took me awhile to find a new nail shop and I've dropped by this particular salon a few times for a quick fix but it has become my every two weeks shop! They do the best everything here. The most diligent shop I've been to with regards to getting my dry feet back to normal. They never rush here. They constantly check and reassess as much as needed to ensure the cuticles and all dry skin are taking care of before I get out of the chair. They even provide a buff shine since I don't do polish. It's always amazing that the tech works on my feet for an hour or so but only charges $30. Perhaps it's just a ploy to get better tips, which I always give because the service is well worth it. read more

This is the worst, most ragged nail salon I have ever visited. It deserves no stars but that wasn't an option! The nail technician (what a laugh) did such a horrible job on my nails that I had to come back the next day for repair. The nails had separated from the cuticle overnight. Anytime you can't do a simple fill-in that lasts more than 1 day you need to turn in your acrylic. She chose to ignore me for 20 minutes and finally made the lame excuse that the problem was because I didn't get them polished. What an idiot!! The manager had a "who gives a damn" attitude and I was made to wait 40 more minutes without getting the repair done because I finally just left. This hole needs to be closed down or better yet, blown up! Evidently, my $15 fill-in didn't deserve the professional treatment because they make more on ladies who want the works. They need to close down if they don't feel that those of us with our own nails, wanting no frills deserve to be treated as valuable customers too! Obviously, the good reviews came from ladies who got more than just acrylic fill-ins. Remember, they only care about customers that spend big bucks!
