Went in a Monday night, after waiting a month to get a fill (nails just raggedy, and my nail shape left so much to be desired). There were only about 3 ladies working, and about 5 customers. It seemed at least 3 of the customers were regulars, which I took as a pretty good sign. You know the area of town this is in, so you can guess what it looks like. It's the type of place that is clean, but makes you squint to be sure. Very no frills- no wine, no pimped out decor (this is Marlboro pike, not DC). Very limited OPI and Essie polishes, most look old (I also recognize I'm 1 of very few people that gets regular polish on their acrylic). The staff is friendly and welcoming, and not very talkative (which is A+ in my book). There's a tv to distract you and pedi chairs do the massage (but again, no frills so manage your expectations here). The pedicure tubs are clean but they don't line them with disposable plastic. They SLAAAAAYYYYYEEDDDDDD my coffin shape. Caught myself gazing at them even a few days later. Oh yea, and I saw a lady finish up with some bomb nail designs (diff design on each finger, details matter). If that's your thing, it looks like they do that pretty well too. Summary: Efficient. Economically priced. Clean. No frills. Nice staff.

I was a bit skeptical because the more recent reviews didn't have a good ratio, but I am new to the area and decided to try. It looks awful from the outside. I called before I came and she said no wait. So I come in and get seen within 3 minutes. I got a gel manicure ($25!) and pedicure ($20!) and eyebrows $7. I posted the prices for your convenience. It was a great job, and I was out within an hour! I'll let you know how the gel holds up. Kim was very nice. I will note one thing. There was a woman who started her nails before me, and it was acrylic so it took longer. She said she then wanted to do feet (I'm not sure if she said that before) and the guy said it would be a 20 min wait because he doesn't do feet and some other folks didn't either. That's a bit suspicious I would've been mad if it was me.

Gel manicure!! love it!!!

I came her with my cousin for a 10am Monday appointment. When first pulling up the store strip could be updated. When going inside it did not get better and I was skeptical of getting a pedicure but went with it since my cousin has a relationship with workers and I didn't want to start drama. Overall my service was great and my nails turned out wonderful. If you can get over the look of the place then I would recommend. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I do plan to return. But need to find out day to go. I left around 11 and it was crowded on a Monday. People with hour wait.

I've been in the area for a few years now and have yet to find a nail "home" but Vivian is now a contender. Yes, the spot could use a little love but the techs are really friendly and do good work. Ahna did my nails. I didn't catch the name of the woman who did my feet but she was super sweet and thorough

This is a small no frills salon but my nails were done to perfection! I'll definitely be back.

This place could use a serious upgrade - new paint PLEASE and some better cleaning supplies but.... my nails look nice ‍. They don't have many pretty regular nail polish options- it seems they've decided to focus more on gel colors because that's what most people are doing now. I brought my own polish. The nail techs were quick and my nails look pretty good AND the prices were cheap compared to other places I've seen in Maryland. I'll be back, more than likely!

Full set after 4 days, no polish chipped and my nails still on, love the shape and color. Nice and neat!

My first visit and I decided to give them a try after reading other reviews. Conveniently located on Marlboro pike. The shop is small and there are only maybe 4,5 technicians working there. My tech was Lili and she was so nice! It was a small wait but well worth it! They really take their time here so you receive quality service, I love my nails and plan to return next week for a fill in :-) Tip: they were more busy on a Friday, (like typical salons are), I went back Saturday at noon and the wait was a little less than 10 mins. Like I said before, WELL worth it! Only wish they had more gel colors to choose from that would be my only suggestion.

This is a gel overlay (acrylic then gel polish) after 4 days done by Mimi. I was forced to go to her although I typically go to Kim, after being late 10 mins for two appointments. I was charged $35 when I normally play $25 through me. Won't be going back. Terrible service. And the quality speaks for itself.

Always seeing this place and never went in...Today I decided to get gel fill in and was not, disappointed. The place was clean and the staff was professional. My tech was,Nee Nee,and she did Exatly as I asked So while there i decided,to get a,pedi...the chairs,in there..OMG..best,chair massage I ve ever had!! If your ever in the area..try them out. U wont be disappointed. They also have a good selection of gel colors...Tip...make an appt!

Finally!! I have found a nail salon that does my nails without them looking bulky and abnormal. The techs here are extremely nice and the service is amazing. The location may not be in the best spot but I will certainly be back. I went on a Saturday and they did have a afternoon rush but it was well worth the wait. Also I think the ventilation in the building is non existent so the smell of the nail chemicals can be strong, other than the location and ventilation I truly like the service.

Found this place on yelp. Recently moved and need a new nail spot. Our experience was ok. On the outside it looks a little shabby. Inside, slightly better. Nothing a little bit of paint and maybe a call to merry maids couldn't fix. While there we witnessed an older woman sweeping but with the amount of dust by the hairs and drying station that doesn't happen often. Now to the nails. My daughter needed a fill in, 2 nail repairs and a cut down. She was happy with the service and the price, $25.00. I was going to get acrylic over my natural nails. They are thin and I wanted try to prevent chipping or breaking. A woman wanted me to get something else, kept saying "gel color because it last longer". Don't really care about the color lasting longer because I would come back and switch colors often. She tried again, I explained again. She then shakes her head and says "I don't know, I don't know". Umm what don't you know?? At this point I'm a little turned off so she goes back to finishing my daughters nails. Another person motions for me to come over. No thank you, I'll go somewhere else. I can tell they do good work because they had a number of regular customers. Good sign right? Idk. May give them another shot later. Oh, and upon leaving I could have sworn I saw the same lady that was sweeping go to the basket and sort out the disposable paper feet footies they give you after your pedi. Ummm what are you doing? Those go in the trash right? My tip, where sandals if your going to get a pedi because who knows how many people wore the paper footies. Pic of daughters nails.

Love love love this place! I am military and just moved here and was in desperate need of a new nail salon. I had tried a bunch but they either had terrible service, were rude, or were too far away. I love Vivian Nails not only for their absolutely amazing service but they treat you like family and they are more than happy to help get exactly what you want. I had my nails done at a previous salon that made me pay way too much and my nails actually snapped off. I went to Vivian's and I will never NEVER go anywhere else.

This will definitely be my salon while living in Md. Kim did my nails; she was patient, thorough, & gentle. I also had my eyebrows waxed, but cannot recall the name of the young lady who did that. I felt so welcomed from the moment I walked in until the moment I left!! They had low music playing and dimmed the lights. I loved the vibe!!!

I was a customer for about 5 months. No problem with dip powder until I decided to try the gel set…read morecalled "Tiana Collection" As Ken started the set, I noticed a burning sensation after the 2nd nail was done. I let him know it was burning and suggested he lower the UV light that he used to set the gel. He mentioned that the light only had 1 setting and that he couldn't change it. As he continued, I suggested to move the heated UV lamp further away from my nail bed as the temperature and position he had it in was burning my nail bed. I mentioned this as a reminder several times. When I got home that evening, I had to take Tylenol and add ice to my nails to sooth the burning sensation. At this point, I was concerned because the burning radiated from my fingers up my arms. Went the at shop opened, I contacted Ken to let him know what happened. He had me come in to remove the gel. I also asked for compensation, at least a percentage of my money back or have him do dip set later. Jennifer told me they took the gel set off, and took time doing my nails, so there was no compensation or refund of any kind. I suggested to file an insurance claim as this was an injury due to a product they provided. She told me insurance will not pay for it and she didn't see whether I deserved a refund. I have never experienced this sort of hospitality or service at any nail salon. I came here as a referral from a coworker. While still getting familiar with this area, I thought this place would offer great service. If you are thinking of getting nails done at here, be aware because it's not about customer service it's more about money for them. I always wondered why fee for services changed often when I got the same thing each time. Hidden fees no consideration for how they treat their customers. Deluxe pedi and gel with 2 horrible nail designs totaled - $145 and still burning from lamp. Go someplace else. UPDATE: Several hours later, Jennifer, the owner, left me a voicemail asking me to call her back. I returned the call believing she might offer an apology, discount, or some form of resolution. Instead, the conversation focused on my review and why I had posted it. She reiterated that because I chose the service, I was not entitled to any compensation. When I suggested continuing the discussion after she finished with her customer, she declined and continued explaining why she would not provide a refund, discount, or credit. This entire experience was disappointing. Mistakes and adverse reactions can happen, but what stood out to me was being told, "I'm not going to argue with you," when I was simply expressing surprise and concern about what had happened. I was not arguing at all, and the comment felt dismissive. I was left wondering whether I was being treated differently, possibly because I am an African American woman. Regardless of the reason, I did not feel heard or respected during the conversation. Reactions can happen, but how a business responds to a customer who has been injured or harmed by a service says a lot about its values. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed, blamed, and left without any Potential customers should be aware of my experience and make their own informed decision. Wow

My technician was nice, but seemed to really want to get me in and out of her chair as quickly as possible. I have never kept my hands under the UV light for less than 60 seconds per layer, but at one point I timed it and my hand was under the light for 15 seconds. It was truly: finish one hand, immediately change hands to put under the light. I questioned it internally but figured she knew what she was doing. I got my nails done on a Tuesday, by Sunday one of my nails was chipped. Bliss has a policy that any chips within 10 days can be fixed for free, so I went in the next Wednesday to get the nail fixed. Again it was incredibly rushed, 15 seconds max under the light. By Friday the nail chipped again. Two days later another nail chipped. Less than two weeks and the manicure was already chipping. A disappointing experience compared to my first time there.

A few weeks before they sold the business, I had decided I was never coming back, after going to them for almost a decade. I was a loyal customer who always booked one of the most expensive pedicures, yet the last three pedicures I had, they rushed through them. The last one I got in July was only 20 minutes long after my nail tech's next client came in early. People getting regular pedicures at the same time next to me were still going when I was finished. When I complained, I was told I was wrong by Tina for a complaining. I just want to be clear this was the third time it happened in several months -- I told her that -- and she dismissed it and loudly said I was wrong. Honestly I said I would never go back to them. But when I saw Ivy had changed hands, I came back with cautious optimism today. I am so glad I did. I booked the Ivy Special for $80 with Nina and it was wonderful. She worked on me for a full hour with strong and skillful hands. The service included a soak, massage, mask, hot stones, and then more massage. It was absolute bliss. I will hands down go back to the new Ivy's and will recommend you give them a shot. The salon itself is clean and professional. The pedicure chair tubs still have protective bag coverings that are switched out between clients, and all tools come sterilized in sealed bags. The care and attention to detail are clear. If you had written Ivy Nails off in the past, give them another try. The new owners have completely turned it around. Ask for Nina, she is fantastic.
