I had a great experience at Vivian Nails and Spa! I was visiting a friend in Michigan for the weekend and needed a gel manicure refill. It was Sunday evening and Vivian was the only place open and taking walk-in appointments. Upon arrival, we were taken right away and the staff was extremely nice. My technician started conversation, was interested in my visit to East Lansing, and did a great job on my nails! The salon had a clean bathroom and all-around clean facilities. My gel manicure turned out great and they even gave me a punch card (which I gave to my friend who lives there). After three visits they offer 10% off your fourth! Vivian nails is by far the nicest, cleanest, and most reliable salon in the area. I was late to my appointment (by 30 minutes, I'm not proud!) and they still got me in right away. I got a deluxe pedicure and manicure, and not only were they very affordably priced (trust me!) they were very quality! They took their time to make sure my nails looked amazing and all my skin and cuticles were cleaned up! I cannot recommend Vivian enough, and you will never find me at another nail salon in the EL area! read more

Got an acrylic full set here and my nails were unevenly shaped/cut. They filed my nails so rough that 4 of my fingers were cut and 2 were bleeding. This was the first time I have ever walked out of a nail salon with my hands hurting. My hands were also left really crusty/with product on them and that has never happened to me before at another nail salon. I went back in and asked them to fix the shape and they did, so I gave a star back. Nails ended up looking okay after I went back, but I had to go home and clean the extra product up afterwards. I moved to the area about two years ago and have been coming to Vivian Nails since moving. Although I always call to make an appointment, I've noticed that my wait time has increased over time. Still, I was still loyal to Vivian Nails given the quality of work they do. I called 24 hours in advance to make appointments for me and my mother, who was visiting, and was told to come (tomorrow) at 3pm. Yet, when we arrived the next day, we were told that we didn't have appointments. In addition, when I told the guy that I called the prior day, he proceeded to scroll through the call log in the phone to verify that I was actually being truthful. Of course, I had "receipts" and was able to give him the time i called and from what phone number, at which point he said that I could service one of us. However, my mother and I decided to try to find another salon. While I was willing to deal with longer wait times, I am not willing to deal with someone implying that I am a liar. Therefore, today was the last time that I (or my family members) will step foot in Vivian Nails and look forward to finding another salon that will value us and our business. read more

I tried this place new because I needed a good job and not sure ay as much as I would at other high ranking nail salons. It is family owned and has a good environment feel inside. The first thing I noticed was the wide range of OPI color options as well as a few other brands of nail polish. I got a full set of acrylics, long, with gel nail polish. I had a great conversation with my nail technician. Additional services included was a lotion hand massage, warm towel for my hands, and a water bottle. My set was $35. She also said that even dip powder was $35 as well, which in other salons I have been to would be $45 or more. It is a new salon. She mentioned they've been open for about a year now. I could tell she really cared about how the final result would look. She took a lot of time to file them to get the perfect shape. You can feel comfortable telling them what you want in shape and length. I would recommend this place and will return the next time! read more

Super clean, brand new nail salon in Haslett, off of Haslett rd. They have a plastic liner that they put on the pedicure bowls and discard after each use. The space is also ventilated really well, so it doesn't stink like other salons. Owner seems very interested in making sure her customers are happy. read more

I barely write reviews- but I'm frustrated with the service I got yesterday. I went in thinking I was going to get a mani pedi, after the pedi I got, I stuck only to that. The lady was afraid of cutting my nails, barely filed them, didn't even remove the callus of my soles, didn't remove my cuticles etc. nothing more could've gone wrong with my experience. That "clean" feeling when leaving was not accomplished. I finally decided to try a different place after moving to the area- and I was highly disappointed. The pedicure is not worth 30 dollars! Got a gel full set here. Place was clean however throughout my manicure I kept getting switched to a different nail tech. Went through 3 different nail techs and I'm not sure why. One of them filed my nail way too hard and my finger started bleeding. She didn't even apologize! While my gel set has lasted over a week, it was done pretty sloppy and some of the tips the nail tech chose were way too big for my nails. I ended up having to file them myself when I got home because some of them were uneven!! I was very surprised that I had a bad experience here because the reviews were so good here. read more

I have been going here to get my nails powder-dipped. I've gone three or four times and have been nothing but pleased. They put a base coat, at least two color coats, and a top coat on. It takes a while, but it's worth it. Your service ends with a relaxing short massage with lotion and hot towels. Aaah. I've gone to about a half dozen other places for manicures and this is the best yet. The only downside is that sometimes the manicurist gets just a bit too rough. I was so disappointed in the results of getting my eyebrows waxed here. I have gotten my eyebrows waxed numerous times and this woman made the process very painful by continuously rubbing the waxing papers on my brows (???). & in the end, my eyebrows were very noticeably uneven. I was running late for another appointment so I ended up just taking off after asking her to even then out multiple times but do not get your eyebrows done here. My mom gets her nails done here and likes it but I'm really really disappointed by how noticeably uneven my brows turned out. read more

Let me start by saying I never leave reviews, but after my experience here, I need to leave one. I just got a gel manicure from Vivian Nails & Spa and it was without a doubt the worst manicure I've ever received. My gel manicure is already peeling after only 1 day. On top of that, the actual paint job looks like a 6-year-old did it. My nails are extremely sharp in the corners and I have cuts all around my cuticles. The color I picked looked NOTHING like it did in the book I chose from, and when I said something to the employee, she told me it would after she put the top coat on, which it didn't. There are a ton of nail places in the area, and it is safe to say I will be letting friends know NOT to try this place and I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more
