Pretty much the only local place open on Sundays so it does get super busy. I would call and make an appointment on a Sunday even if it's only an hour in advance because walk-ins can be asked to wait for quite some time. It's just $25 for a shellac manicure, $50 for a shellac manicure and regular pedicure which is awesome. I've had some minor issues with my shellac (not all the way down to the base of the nail so it grew out faster and once left covered in cotton fuzz) hence the four stars instead of five. Otherwise it's a great and very friendly place with experienced professionals and tons of customer appreciation events. Everyone is always super nice and I like that you get your own box of tools. So a perfect ten is my usual go-to nail spot. I go here because they have a wide array of shellac colors and to actually get shellac is only $5. I am able to get a shellac mani +pedi for only $60 (not including tax) and in the Lansing area I think that's a steal. Now I bet you're wondering "hey Sarah, why are you only giving 3 stars when it's your go-to?" The reason for the 3 star rating is the customer service (or lack thereof). Any time I set an appointment, I am always still waiting a considerable amount of time. They are very busy almost all the time and it's reflected in the way they do business. Some of the people working here are pretty rude but there are some nice people too. I also wouldn't recommend this place if you like fancy acrylic shapes. This place was very clean and I appreciate that! I went for a walk in pedicure and waited around 25mins. Not bad, they were busy. Color selection was great. And the technician did a good job painting my nails. I waited longer to get my pedicure than the actual pedicure itself. From start to finish of my feet touching the bowl to her painting all my toes was 18mins. I only know this because I texted a friend when I started and the time stamp... now I Know they're cheap but $24 for a 18 min pedicure is NOT worth it to me. My feet still feel the same besides having a fresh coat of paint. My feet aren't even "bad" and I trim my own nails but usually when I get a pedicure my feet feel relaxed. They filled in my missing nail, changed the shellac color, and trimmed my nails for me because they were very long to work and type with. So 2 people ended up not getting pedicures so one of us could get a full set instead. And then I told them I was paying for everyone and they still collected money from my sister in law. I started coming to this nail salon because the ones in the mall because my previous nail salon went to crap (the nail techs were rude and the management didn't do anything about it - I felt like I was a burden to them every time I went in). I spent hours looking at reviews for a new salon in town, and I found this one. The minute I walked in, I knew it was different, in a really good way! They almost always have someone at the counter who is greeting you, answering the phones, and scheduling appointments. The place looks clean, and very cute. Each guest gets their own box that contains a nail file and a buffer, and they assign you a box number so that each time you come in, you use your own. You never have to share them with anyone else. The pedi tubs are nicer than others I've been to, and each tub gets a plastic liner, for an added clean protection! I've never had a single complaint yet and I've been coming every 2-3 weeks for the past year. Everyone is always friendly and they do their best to make you leave with a smile. They do take walk ins, but better to be safe and schedule an appointment! I have seen them have to turn people away because they're SO busy. But usually if I know I need my nails done, I just call on my lunch break and schedule for same day/after work. Best nail salon in greater-Lansing area! read more

No, just no. This was my first time at a perfect ten, and I will not be going back. The nail techs were very nice, but the quality of work they did was one of the worst I've ever seen. First of all, I had my nails done when I came in, so they needed to be removed. The nail tech went at my nails with the metal attachment on the electric file with no mercy. The friction of the metal on my nails was intense and got super hot - ouch! I asked for square shape, which was executed on some nails, but a lot of them are uneven - very annoying to look at. Finally, the design... I mean come on. Granted, I'm no artist so I wasn't expecting the hand painting to be perfect or anything but it is just awful. I wish she would've told me she wasn't able to execute a design like this when I showed her the inspiration photo. Not to mention I paid $20 for the design alone, in addition to the $30 for dip. The hour and a half of pain was definitely not worth these uneven and unattractive nails. I also didn't appreciate that I made the appointments with a friend and they refused to sit us near each other. We were sat on completely opposite ends of the salon, even though there were open chairs right beside each other. They're very friendly also, and offer a stamp card that gives you 15% off once you've had 4 services. Because they're so great they are often very busy. Just tried this salon for the first time because reviews were very good. Simply wanted a mani-pedi on my natural nails. Right off, the upselling began...pressure to choose more expensive services (Shellac, French manicure) I had no intention of getting. The salon appears clean, as mentioned in other reviews, but the concept of having your own box of implements is misleading. The box only contains a file and buffer Pen and frequency card). This means that all metal implements - which come in even closer contact with your flesh - are used commonly, which is only sanitary if cleaned each time in an autoclave. Metal implements were taken from a drawer...not even stored in an antiseptic soaker until use, that I could discern. Unfortunately, three of my pet peeves were front and center here: 1. The tech's nails were in terrible condition, with worn, chipped polish, in dire need of maintenance. To promote confidence, it's critical to present the best possible image of your services. Poor personal grooming has no place in any kind of salon. 2. Instead of using an implement, such as an orange stick, for instance, to clean up polish around the edges, the tech used her own nails. This practice, while common, is completely unsanitary and unprofessional. Disgusting, actually. 3. My tech was constantly distracted, keeping an eye on the door for incoming customers, watching all around, and chatting with her coworkers -even when she was working on my nails with implements - not good. The leg massage was the best part of the service, for sure - very thorough and relaxing. Polish job OK but the use of a pretty course file resulted in lots of rough edges under the tips of my natural nails. When I go to a salon, I know what I want and expect friendly, expert, hygienic service. I don't expect to have to clean up the job when I get home. Will likely try another salon before returning here, but if so, I'll request a different tech to give the salon a fair chance. read more

My mom set an appointment for us the morning of my wedding. We arrived on time and they were really busy. We had to wait just a little while to get a seat for our pedicures, but there was no one available to do mine, so I sat for 20 minutes while my mom got hers done. I have no formal training, but normally I do my own manicure and pedicures. I also do my own gel polish. I asked them if they could do an ombre effect on my toes and nails. They said not the toes, but yes on the nails. I agreed to a solid toe color and ombre nails. The woman that did my toes was great. That's why the 2 stars. But when I went to get the gel ombre, they switched to a woman that was supposed to be skilled at that. After looking at the photo, she said she couldn't do it and though I was disappointed, I figured she'd do a good job with the manicure. Unfortunately, it is the worst manicure I've had. She didn't cut my cuticles, the polish is uneven, and my cuticles have polish on them. Today is day 2 and there is skin pulling away from the sides of my nails. I am not a professional at all but would have taken more time and done a better job than Kathy, the one who's licensed. Edit: I forgot to add a couple of things. First, I never got the full manicure. I've been here 2 times and both times have been a positive experience. The staff there are very nice and it's great to see smiles when you walk in. The quality of the work that was done during my service was excellent. My shellac pedicure has lasted for over a month and the I could go another 2 weeks on it. The shellac manicure lasted 3 weeks. My nails grow fast so this seems reasonable. No peeling or chipping. I would recommend that you always call for an appointment. I'm sure you could walk in for an appointment but I personally would never want to overwhelm a business like that. They are already busy so making the appointment seems fair. I'm so happy that I have found a place that exceeds my expectations that I know I won't find anywhere else. read more

I came in for a mani/pedi because of all the positive reviews and was glad to be seen quickly without an appointment. I had a fairly simple nail art design in mind (reverse french manicure), but instead, the manicurist gave me a shellac treatment that I did not ask for and complained that the nail art I wanted was too complicated, so I ended up saying to forget about it. I only found out that the polish she used was shellac when the bill came up $15 more than I expected. It will last a month (which I don't want), and I'm going to have to go back to get it removed. I'm pretty disappointed with this turn of events and don't think I'll be coming back regularly after this. Edited: Called the salon to follow up, and the owner could not understand why I would be upset, since the shellac lasts so long. She said they would remove it for free when I wanted to take it off, but only after I asked (shellac can't be taken off with nail polish remover). No apology, no acknowledgment that there may be a problem with providing a different, more expensive service than I asked for. I'm pretty disappointed with this experience overall. read more

Needed my nails done for a Christmas party. Decided to give this salon a try. Brought a photo from the Internet for them to go off of, French manicure with green line under the French tip. Everyone was extremely nice and my manicurist was very good. You get a numbered box with a file and block just for you and a card for a discount after your fourth visit. LOVE this place. I came across A Perfect Ten Nails & Spa last June when they first opened up, and I was on my way to work. I hadn't found a salon in the area that I had really enjoyed yet. Either the employees were rude, they didn't have a decent nail polish selection, or the place wasn't very clean. This salon checks off all of those boxes. The employees here and amazing, and actually care about their customers! They always ask about my day, and how work is going. If they're busy, they let me sit in the massage chairs for free while I'm waiting! They have tons and tons of colors of nail polish, including a very large selection of shellac polishes. The inside is very large and clean. They also give each customer their own box which includes a personal buffer and file so you're not using the same tools as everyone else. i used to come here all the time for mani/pedis and i remembered them being so good. i decided to try them out for acrylics and was very disappointed. my nails were uneven and i pointed it out and she didn't fix them. some nails are crooked and now a week later they are all lifting up from my nails. the polish was uneven and had lots of bubbles in it so there are holes in the polish. the color choice they had was underwhelming. they had lots of colors but only in the pink red shade. no whites or greys and hardly any blues or greens. i wanted light grey nails and i had to go w a dark grey and was disappointed. over all i paid $30 for acrylics with a shape, which no one has ever charged me for doing a shape before but that was not a big deal to me. lovely people and place poor acrylics. read more
