Unlike the other places, Kelly…read morecarefully listened to me, looked at the inspiration photos (of various long bobs) that I brought, and we talked about how my very thin, fine hair would do with each of the possible styles. She was the only person who actually listened to me, and the only person who seemed to understand that you can't do a lot of layering with very thin hair. After she cut my hair and blew it dry, she asked me to take a look, and then offered to take a little more off the back. I could see that her next client had arrived, but she took an extra few minutes on me to make the cut perfect. I really appreciate her attention to detail. And I could see that the next client didn't mind waiting 5 minutes: probably because she knew that Kelly was going to make her hair look perfect too. The cut was $45, which I think is quite reasonable. For me, the true test of any haircut is how it looks after a shower, when I've had the chance to style it myself. This cut looked great, even after my novice blow-drying. I will be back.

I drive all the way from Oakland to get my hair cut and colored by Amanda, and that's a big deal for someone who doesn't typically like long drives or leaving their house. I've also seen her work on clients with more conventional tastes and it's all stunning and skillfully executed. I enthusiastically recommend Amanda and Fusion 3 to everyone!

The manager luckily refunded my money because it was almost $200 for the balayage I wanted done! I wanted a balayage and showed the stylist the picture of the girls curly back hair And told her I wanted it like that picture. I also wanted to keep the roots dark. As you can see from the pictures it's nowhere near what I wanted and the stylist afterwards didn't even ask if I wanted it toned! The salon closed again cause of COVID so I had to redo it myself afterwards cause I was so embarrass of what it looked like. I didn't notice until I got home and closely looked in the mirror.

Came here on a whim because I couldn't take it anymore on this hot June day. Ever had one of those days when you look in the mirror and then had a crazy thought in your head where you whipped out an electric razor and went full Britney? No? It's just me? Well okay then. The bf was getting his hair cut and I thought I'd call and see if they'd squeeze me in the last minute. I fully expected them to say no and I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call back saying that I could go in about half an hour. Ecstatic, I rushed to Pleasanton from San Ramon, and got there and I totally overlooked the parking lot that was located conveniently right behind the salon. As I walked in, I was greeted by Armen, who was courteous, polite and was patient and listened to what I requested. I showed him a photo that I found online that had shoulder length hair with lots of layers. He nodded his head and took me straight to the washing station and my hair was washed in record time. Very thorough and professional. He took me back to his salon chair and he started combing and cutting. He and I had some great conversations about his decades of experience in San Francisco where he worked at a high end salon right next to Union Square. He used to own another salon in another area of Pleasanton and he decided to just focus on opening a new, swanky, boutique in downtown Pleasanton and cater to the local crowd. The whole appointment took a little over an hour and I was thrilled at my new layers! The prices are extremely reasonable and I strongly urge you all to give this place a go! I'm glad that I walked in today and I have found my salon for life. Thank you, Armen! I will be back for a blowout soon!

I had an appointment with Kate yesterday, and she did an awesome job!…read more The salon itself is cute, not ultra trendy and over the top - more of a homey type feel in downtown Livermore. The last time I got my hair cut, I went to a random person at Ulta because I was in a rush and getting out of town the next day and just needed a quick cut. As we started chatting, I quickly found out that this stylist had recently broke up with her bf - and she was wildly talking about the drama. Each chop of the scissors represented her hatred for that man - she ruined my hair like she was Edward scissor hands! It's been over 6 months since I've had my haircut due to needing to let it grow out. Needless to say I was nervous to have a new person style my hair again, but I've recently moved to California and needed a new stylist anyway. Kate listened to what happened last time (because as she looked at my hair she could tell how choppy and uneven the previous stylist had left my hair). She also listened to what I wanted in regards to color and did her best to execute it. When it came time to trim my hair, she was very quiet and concentrated on what she was doing - which I totally appreciate after the past trauma of the crazy drama stylist! I'm totally happy with how the partial color and trim turned out and will definitely return. Thank you, Kate!

I have continued to see her for my hair and beard grooming, and have only modified the review to bring it current. This review is for the services I received from Janelle. I have a relatively big beard and I am a late-30s professional. So, finding a stylist that can make me look neat and orderly while not simply turning me into a corporate clone is tricky. I have had my hair and beard trimmed in many cities while traveling for work, and a few locally. Anyhow, it was time to get the beard shaped and cleaned up, the eyebrows tidied, and the hair trimmed too, and I started seeing Janelle. I think it's accurate to say that my expectations were restrained because I have had many bad stylist experiences, especially with the beard. Thank goodness Janelle re-inflated my expectations with a terrific 90-minutes of services. She listened closely to what I wanted, checked-in every now and then to see if she was doing what I wanted, and sometimes seemed to completely lose herself in getting me to where I wanted to be with the hair. She was professional, conversational, attentive, and polite, without being fake or pretentious. And she did one hell of a job on my hair and beard and eyebrows. I left already knowing I'd be back to see her before she had even finished. What a relief to have found someone I can entrust my periodic grooming to. Nearly two years after my first visit with Janelle, I have followed her to Roxys in Livermore because she is just that good. I have seen her probably 12 or more times since the first visit in 2016. Her work is personal, professional, and, most importantly, consistent. Highly recommended.
