Best pizza in town! Crust is cooked perfect and the sauce is so flavorful. The owner is super friendly and the pizza comes out quick! Yum!!!

Being from Jersey, we get pizza. Pizza in all shapes and sizes from coal, wood, and conventional ovens. Top notch ingredients, made with love, and about as close to the real "Italian" homeland pizza as you can possibly get. After arriving in Minneapolis, I never imagined to try a pie that got as close. Vito Lucco does it and passes the pizza test with flying colors. Upon arriving at Fulton Brewery, I found myself starving, so I simply walked outside to the Vito Lucco truck to grab a Margherita and a Don Vito. The pies were ready in 10 minutes and I was notified by text message when they were ready for pickup. Convenient is an understatement. A bring-your-own-food brewery where I can enjoy a draft while I wait for wood fired pizza? YES. It's 10 inches of heaven.... And please don't take that quote out of context.

Back in like 88 when my parents got divorced I remember it being the first meal eating it on the floor with no furniture in my mom's new house in Fridley. Favorites are the Hawaiian and the Tasty Highlite There was always Chanticlear Pizza right next to Maple lanes in Fridley, and then Tasty's. Tasty's was always my favorite even back then! I still eat here at least once or twice a month and it's definitely in my top five places in the Twin Cities! We also frequent the one up in Pequot Lakes in the summertime when we go up fishing at Leech Lake. We stop on the way and pick up a couple pizzas.

Apparently this place has been around forever and it shows in the best way. It is a classic dive bar, but really more of a true neighborhood hangout where you will find lots of locals and possibly people who grew up in the area. No frills, just good vibes. The pizza is surprisingly good here - thin crust and cut into those perfect small squares with crispy edges. The sausage and pepperoni pizzas are absolute standouts. We also tried the buffalo-style pizza. The sauce was a little on the greasy side, but still incredibly flavorful and worth ordering. Do not skip the wings! Honestly, everything we had was just really solid comfort food done right. The place stays busy even on weekdays, which tells you how much the neighborhood loves it. There are plenty of parking.

But the venue is very cool, with lots of community type tables. It seems very odd that such a popular, quality restaurant is closing, but there are lots of rumors around this, mostly about the landlord jacking up the rent to a ridiculous amount, and wanting to sell the building. But there has also been press in the past about the owner closing another restaurant possibly in order to avoid unionization of the employees. Who knows what's really going on. But what are they going to do with the big copper pizza oven and all the other installations?

I knew that I had to come because the Korean Chef was crowned a James Beard award. So, I had fairly…read morehigh expectations coming in. When my friend and I walked in, we came into a fairly spacious dimly lit space with loads of people inside. We were immediately informed that there would be over 1.5hr wait for a walk-in table. We were given the option to wait for bar seating as it would probably be quicker - and surely, it was. We did have to wait quite a bit, but it was a tolerable amount of time and definitely less than what it would have taken for an actual table. My friend and I decided to share 2 pizza pies as we wanted to get a taste of two different flavors, so we eventually settled on Korean BBQ & Perfect Pickle Pie. KOREAN BBQ As it was created by a Korean chef, it definitely had true authentic Korean flavors. As a Korean myself, I was very familiar with this soy vinaigrette and have tried this on many salad before - so, it was hitting home for me. Also, you can't go wrong with the bulgogi/beef short ribs known to all those who had Korean BBQ before. The combination of the sauces that they use for this pizza is definitely very rich, full of umami. I personally enjoyed it. PERFECT PICKLE PIE This pie was a totally different flavor to the Korean BBQ. It's less rich and maybe can be overpowered or considered more bland compared to other pizza flavors. But when tried together with the BBQ, it balances out the richness of the BBQ with the more subtle/less umami flavors. This pie gives more of a tangy/sour taste that pickles provide and more of a crunch due to the chips that are added on top. The dill is present, but not overpowering. It's a nice low-key kind of taste that people who like pickles will enjoy. Overall, the flavors were very rich in every pizza pie that we had that our mouths were bursting with flavor. It was definitely the most unique pizza toppings that I've had and can see why it's so highly regarded. I can tell that they really are meticulous with their every process and that their pizza guy by the wood fire oven is expertise in what he does. My friend and I walked out quite satisfied and I was honestly more full than I expected.

Giuseppe's seems perpetually busy and the crowd starts very early. When we arrived last Saturday, there were only two tables left and one of those was a quirky half table. What makes this restaurant popular is the consistency of the food, the good service and the focus on popular old-school Italian food. All of the favorites are there and they are done well. My go-to is often the spaghetti and meatballs, which is so easy to prepare at home, but still worth going out for if the restaurant does it right. The entrees come with a soup or salad, both of which are good. On this particular visit, it was really cold outside and the Minestrone was hot, chunky, and full of fresh vegetables. They also serve (an increasingly rare) bread basket with a variety of different fresh baked breads, which are perfect for dipping into the olive oil. The chicken marsala and the frequent special of Chicken Parnassian are excellent too, as is their pasta. Pro Tip: They don't take reservations, so go as early as you can, even on a week night. They are not open on either Sunday or Monday, so factor that into your visit. They open at 4 pm and close at 8 pm, so the total open hours for the week are 20 hours!
