CrossFit Acernus is one of the best and friendliest boxes in Lebanon and surrounding areas. The…read moretrainers are all knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone that goes there is awesome and encouraging. With some other boxes around here, you're met with an elitist attitude. I won't go so far as to name names, but some of the people that go here travel from the Palmyra area because of the elitists from the other box. The facility is large and clean....don't be fooled by the exterior. The class sizes are kept to smaller groups, so you get more attention. If you can't do the WOD because of some injury or you just can't do some of the exercises, they will accommodate with alternatives. The price is really great compared to other CF boxes...starting at $10 a session. Granted, it isn't "globo-gym" priced, but you basically get a personal trainer working with you on every session. I have several friends that signed up for the YMCA when they were doing discounts for family memberships and they have gone a handful of times. So that $200 unlimited membership is probably going to cost them more in the long run and I guarantee they aren't getting a workout like we do. CrossFit itself is just amazing. You work hard, there's no doubt...it's not for everyone. I've been going here since it's grand opening last year and have seen some serious gains. I started out barely being able to do 20 consecutive squats and not a single pull-up to now deadlifting 255lbs and 10 consecutive strict pull-ups. I didn't really intend to lose any weight but I've dropped 2 waists sizes and have gained quite a bit of tone and muscle definition. Downsides? I had to buy a lot of new clothes. It's addicting so I find myself going to a WOD instead of mowing the lawn. You risk becoming a CrossFit Cult member.

Something New, Finally. I wasted my time as a personal trainer for 7 years doing 3 sets of…read more10....Legs/Arms/ Back/Chest... REPEAT... I looked good but I wasn't actually FIT. Never again will I set foot in a "globo" gym. It's a waste of time. With CrossFit Acernus, I'm faster, stronger and can go longer. Every workout focuses on strength, conditioning, flexibility, coordination, and the list goes on. The trainers teach you and take you through each and every workout in a small team setting. Its not like your typical gym, its more like a family of fitness. Warning: You will be challenged but you will be in the best shape of your life!

So i decided to join her one day as her plus one. First off, know that you have to drive all the way to the back of the plaza to find it. But there's plenty of parking. The studio is run by two nice trainers: Sally and Jordan. They are very open and all about helping you. They tell you their story and listen to yours. It's all about setting goals and appreciating the little accomplishments. First thing when you walk in is that it's one big room. Not little alcoves here and there. Just a huge mat for you to get sweaty on. I did notice there's not one mirror- which is quite interesting. There is complementary child care and very nice locker rooms. They are like to do one on one meetings to check in with you every other week. Their hours are a bit wonky so check the class schedule each week before coming in. But what I like most about this place is that if you can't do a conventional push up, they find another way to get your body to work the same muscles. My advice? Come try it out!

They give great coaching and direction and will provide options to accommodate injuries or limitations. Their classes are a unique blend of strength, cardio and hiit but the foundation is weight training. Each day has a focus and flows into the next so you train evenly and don't risk overtraining any particular body part. They have a separate LIT area where they offer yoga, body pump, dance sweat and Pilates classes. Members get all of this for a price that is less than just about every group fitness studio in the area. They smartly located a bit off the beaten path but super convenient to get to from all the surrounding neighborhoods in central bucks county so your membership fee isn't going to pay for rent in an expensive shopping center. This place is a "diamond in the rough". Finally, you will see your neighbors and friends here and if you don't know anyone you will quickly be welcomed into the Bria community. No pretentiousness... just normal people trying to optimize their fitness. Give it a try you won't be sorry.

This is not my week for Planet Fitness. Yesterday I couldn't find the one in Bristol, VA. This one…read more I wish I had not found. It actually ranks as the second worst I've ever been in. It is too small of a space for a PF, and the owner standards for cleanliness and repairs his way to low. PF corporate needs to get their head out of their backsides and do some quality inspections. This did not happen overnight.

However, upon arriving at this location at 1:45am I was told by the jaw-droppingly rude manager to get out because he closes every night from 2-3. Confused, I inquire about the fact that this is a 24-hour location and if this is true why would there big a huge sign out front that says "24-hours" and why does it claim to be 24-hours online. The manager just rudely shrugged at me and told too bad...I asked him what his name was and he said, "I don't have to identify s**t to you, b**ch. Be out of here by 2am or I'll cancel your membership." I responded "you do that" and started to walk off, at which point he said "and I'll call the cops on your a**" At this point I told him I wasn't going to be spoken to that way and to just go ahead and cancel my membership. He then refused to cancel it. All the while calling me names, swearing at me, insulting me, etc. I have never ever ever in my life been spoken to like this by an employee of somewhere I'm a customer of. What an absolutely unreal experience.
