Took my parents and girlfriend to Vistamar yesterday Sunday. They sat us down right away and being 4 at a table we wanted to start the day with a pitcher of Sangria. The waitress told us that she wouldn't be able to serve us a pitcher because we're not a group and that if I want we can order 4 glasses of Sangria. I didn't understand because it was 4 of us in total! I didnt want to ruin our day so I said okay just bring us water then. She came back later and asked, are you sure you dont want to order anything to drink? I kindly said no just water and then I couldn't help it and I had to ask what's a group of people if a table of 4 is not a group? She then said she will ask her manager and came back with the okay! Two pitchers later we finally got our food but it didnt matter because we enjoyed the shows they put on for everyone. We enjoyed the atmosphere and will be back BUT this time I will ask how much a sangria pitcher costs because the total amount on the receipt for 3 sangria pitchers didnt make sense and each pitcher came out to about 62 and change as if tax was charged to them separate before adding to the bill. I wasn't happy about it but didnt want to make a big deal. Hopefully when I come back this wont be a issue again! read more

Beautiful establishment, AMAZING drinks! Great view and the service is spectacular! The food isn't bad either but not the best. The place is definitely pricey, don't get me wrong it's a very very nice place but going with a group, ordering a few drinks could definitely run you a bill higher than expected. read more

Vistamar - Girls night at Vistamar - Seafood Near Me - Bronx, New York

The decor here was beautiful! My friend brought me here to celebrate my birthday. I ate chicharrón de pollo with rice and beans. The rice was bland and a bit hard, but mixed with the beans, it tasted much better. The chicharron de pollo was delicious especially with lime juice. At first I was saying the drink was all ice but I started to feel it a little after. I wouldn't come here again but it was a nice experience! read more

Great vibes, poor customer service and the food was ehhh. We were a group of 7 coming together to celebrate two of our friends' birthday. From the moment we were seated it took about 10-15 minutes for us to be asked if wanted anything to drink. At this point we haven't even received water. Naturally, we ordered our cocktails, water for the table and appetizers. We ordered the coconut shrimp, the octopus and the lobster Mac and cheese. The coconut shrimp was amazing! The octopus was too hard. The lobster Mac and cheese was a bit bland in flavor. For the entrees we ordered shrimp mofongo, two grilled salmon with mash, lobster ravioli and I believe the other girls got the surf and turf. None of the entrees were good. The mofongo was bland and too dry. The salmon literally had no flavor besides the lemon I had to drench over it. Our salmon plates were supposed to come with kale salad and when I asked our waitress she said she'd look into it - she came back to advise the kitchen ran out and forgot to tell her which in turn caused her to not tell us. We literally had vegetables that looked like the frozen veggie medleys with the broccoli, carrot and peas and green bean pieces. The mashed potatoes also could have been microwaveable because they were lacking in flavor, they literally tasted inferior to mashed potatoes from the cafeteria in elementary school. The lobster ravioli was highly salted and stood untouched. The surf and turf was bad, truly a waste. We ordered a flan and a chocolate lava cake but received two flans. Mind you, the chocolate cake is more expensive and was not adjusted on our bill. I recommend the passion fruit mojitos as they are made well here. Two of the cocktails were removed from the table while being full. I was asked about my finished drinks which I approved to be taken off the table. However, some of the girls were either dancing or taking pictures and when they returned they were confused as to why all of the drinks were taken without them being asked. I looked for our waitress and advised her of the issue. The first drink she was able to replace but the second one she said she was not allowed to replace. My sister was highly upset because we paid the entire bill without asking for anything to be removed despite how poor everyone's plates were. The waitress was able to then replace that second drink as well. Overall, the vibes and music here are great but the food is not and the customer service needs work. The entertainment is great, the entertainers in masks come around and pour tequila in everyone's mouths and they make it very party-like. The music is also really good. I was disappointed because I heard the food was good, but again, I would only recommend the coconut shrimps and the passion fruit mojitos. Oh, and the cotton candy that came with the flan was amazing as well! read more

I usually come here with my cousin in the summer because of the vibe and just the nice location. Was here when restaurants were fully open during COVID so dining was done outside. They set up the tables in the parking lots covered by umbrellas and there was a speaker playing music. The business really adapted as best it could during the pandemic. I will definitely say though the tables could be distanced a little bit better. They still were close. I got a lobster, steak, and fried plantain. That steak was A1. It was cooked so well that it melted in my mouth. I'm pretty particular with how I like my steak, so it's easy to mess it up for me, but this steak was delicious. It wasn't tough (literally). The lobster was also a good size and seasoned well. Will be back again! read more

Last time we were here ; we fell in love with the place . The restaurant is beautiful and the food was amazing. . Fast forward 8 months ; completely different menu and the quality of food and taste unworthy of the travel all the way back . Lackluster food ; lack of flavor, and the prices through the roof . And we were charged 5 dollars for the mandatory vallet to park you own car . Unfortunately will be our last time coming here , read more

This place gets packed and if the dj is there it gets lit! I'm talking hookah, dancing, partying definitely can give you brunch day party vibes if thats what your looking for! Everyone here is having a good time and enjoying theirselves and that is what makes this place special! On top of that the drinks are flowing. Good place for a celebration, lots of birthdays were happening on a Sunday afternoon. There also was a photographer on site to capture some photos. I ordered the whole red snapper, fried. It came with seafood on the inside that I honestly could have done without, but it came with yucca fries, veggies and what I think was fried smashed yucca that was really good. Everyone in my party had a great time which was exactly what we needed for a 60th birthday. read more

Friendly waiter, smells like the sewer. Terrible food and terrible management. I ate here before but they must have new management. I see why we were the only people there at 6pm. They are probably the emptiest restaurant in City Island. read more

I'm going to be completely honest. i love vista mar been coming here many times for dinner, however the brunch truly disappointed me. the food was not great it was cold and was not worth my buck. the unlimited sangria/mimosa was watered down so much it tasted like water. my table of 17 was truly disappointed we left hungry and not feeling the drinks. I would not recommend the brunch (not worth the money) but dinner there is amazing. staff was amazing and the dj! shout out to the hookah prob made the 90 mins worth something. read more

If I could give VISTAMAR 10 stars I would. I celebrated my gender reveal brunch and had the most amazing time. Everything was top notch from the food, drinks and service. I love this restaurant so much that I am considering for future private events. Thank you Vistamar for such a memorable day and to our waitress Berfil she rocked! Also thank you to Zuleika for being so accommodating to our large party at such a short notice. read more

Perfect place for good food, drinks and entertainment. I went on a Saturday it felt like I was in a resort show.

I recently held a birthday party at VistaMar in the smaller private room for 45 people and was very happy with the food and the service. All the guests loved the food which was seafood paella, pernil, arroz con gandules and roast chicken. Everyone raved how delicious the food was. I was also pleased with the service. The waiter and bartender kept checking on every table and bringing the guest fresh glasses of soda, beer, wine -and sangria. Overall we had a very good time and loved the food, drinks and service. Also the beautiful waterside views and lovely sunset have the party that extra touch. Thanks so much to Justine and the crew who worked our party room. Job very well done! read more

We had a really nice time here. We took advantage of the Yelp check in and got a free carafe of sangria. It was really good. The food was excellent. We ordered the Alaskan King Crab legs and an order of Steak & Shrimp. For the sides we had mofongo and Maduros. Everything was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Our waitress and the rest of the staff was friendly and professional. The space was nice. The only thing that I could say that needs improvement is the music. It was a bit too loud and it wasn't a good flow. They kept starting and stopping. It was annoying. I would definitely go back read more

We celebrated a 70th birthday and was expecting a simple yet elegant diner, however it was a WHOLE party! But in the most fun unexpected way. Minnie & Mickey, and clowns came out and were dancing Salsa & Bachata, but like...going in in lol. They even had face painters. We did a soul train with all the guest from the entire restaurant. When it was time to sing happy birthday, the crew came out with the lit Happy Birthday sign and a bubble gun machine, it was a scene. We danced, we laughed, the photo ops were amazing and the Valet staff was amazing as well, especially while withholding the freezing cold to attend to our vehicles, especially Aldo, he was extra attentive. read more

Here for a birthday celebration; and the group placed their food order approximately at 8:30pm and it is now 10:40pm and we are still waiting on our food. Didn't order an appetizer because I assumed my meal would arrived at a good amount of time. I was fooled. This restaurant is not for large parties and a large group of people. I would say there's probably over 100 people in the restaurant and within the group of 25 that I'm a part of, not one of us are eating. The service is horrible. I don't understand why they have one (1) waitress for a large party. She was confused on who gets what food while other people are eating what they order, while the rest is still waiting. The food did come at 10:55. Over 2 1/22 hours of waiting. However, they make sure you get enough alcohol in your system. I would recommend anyone that wants to come here on a weekend not to come, unless you don't mind waiting for a long period of time for your food. Nevertheless, the service is probably better during the week. The entertainment and music is good. Keeps you dancing in your seat. I would rate this establishment a 1/5. read more

I really want to give no stars. Another one and done for me!!! My family and I decided to try to switch it up this New Year's Eve, get dressed up and enjoy a nice dinner out. So, we found this place. Foolish of me to not look into it fully being that we planned 2 weeks ago. This was a prefix menu, one price $100 for adults and $50 for children and the added entertainment they advertised was a bonus, especially since we had 3 children in our group. Sad to say It was an all around disappointment; ARRIVAL: We were seated in a seperate room other than main eating area. The lighting was extremely bright. We asked more than once to dim the lights if possible, nothing. We also double checked to make sure the entertainment they offered would be available for our viewing needs, although they said yes to us, we got to see nothing!!! Thankfully the kids come prepared with tablets & drawing kits to keep them busy. -SERVICE: The waiter was barely available for us after he took our food order. Especially getting a drink. The entire 4hrs there some of us just had one Lychee Martini. Soda and beer orders were forgotten and we had to remind him more than once. We attempted to go to the bar but they were only servicing the waiters needs no individual orders. -FOOD: We ordered about 9ish and food started to come out by about 11:15ish. I had the steak and lobster which both were cold. The lobster was horrible and rubbery. The steak was just ok. Not one person at my table was happy with the food. Other options were fish and paella. Kids had pizza also cold. -HOOKAH should have been available in one area of the restaurant. Not everyone wants to inhale that and it def isnt kid friendly. Understood that NYE can be an insane evening to handle. However, if you are an establishment and this is the type of business you run then PREPARE AND DO BETTER!!! The quality of the food and service we received was DEFINITELY not worth the $2000 plus we paid for. We were blessed to be with eachother and ring in the New Year as a family and that's the only beautiful part of our evening. Do not recommend this place at all. I would have prefered Johnny's or Tony's at the end!! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews.. I really do but from beginning to start it wasn't the best experience. Mother's Day wknd.. i expect things to be busy but this may have been the worst Mother's Day dinner I've had. It did take some to be seated. The hostess wouldn't seat myself and my 2 daughters until the whole party was there and it was only 1 person missing. That 1 person was missing bc Valet was having trouble parking the car.. A few tables went ahead of me. Ok.. no biggie... we waited.. Ambiance? Absolutely beautiful. Finally seated .. Took forever for us to get utensils/plates. We waited 13 minutes for our server (yes- I counted bc we never received a drink menu) we flag down a server to ask for 1 and he never brings it. Our server finally arrives- takes our orders. My drink never comes out bc at least 2/3 drinks I ordered the bartender could not make.. these drinks were on their menu. Appetizers come out.. everything is wrong. Food comes out... sides are all wrong. The food was not the best.. tasted rushed, stale and over cooked. Def overpriced. No offer to discount and we did complain. I'm big on hospitality. I've worked in many restaurants. I'm always big on managers/owners greeting their guests. This manager did no such thing- you would think he would greet the moms or idk something. The best part of the night was the sax player and the ambiance. The restaurant is huge and beautiful. Seeing the waterfront outside was a plus. But I don't think I'd return unless it was on someone else's dime. read more

I really honest to god been a New Yorker all my life and City Island isn't a place i go to. It's too far and I don't eat seafood. My cousin had her birthday party here. Security was odd and the bartenders. The bartenders were the issue. The food was great too -- took forever and a day If I'm being honest. The music was Bad Bunny and friends and a little bit of reggae. The vibe wasn't giving me racist but it's little annoying if you don't speak Spanish. The bartender , the red head and another male. Absolutely suck. I asked for a tequila sunrise she gave me straight tequila NEAT in a glass ( by the way she missed the orange juice and grenadine syrup ). It was cute but would I go back ? Probably not . They did have hookah though . That was a plus read more

Such a nice spot for brunch! Their brunch is all you can eat buffet with unlimited drinks for $40. The food was delicious; not very often buffet food is that good! The drinks were really goid too, the sangrias were strong! The only reason why I am giving them 4 stars is because of the drinks; if you decide to have mimosa as your 1st drink, that is all you can have, you can not switch to another drink. Also, although the service was good, It would have been nice to know what was actually part of the bruch drinks; it was not until we were about to leave that I looked at the menu from another table and saw they had beer as part of the brunch drinks, which is what my dad wanted (we had no nenu of what brunch consisted of and a drinks menu at our table). Overall, it is a great bruch spot with a nice view. read more

The Ambience is great. The entertainment was Also really cool. The food was okay, my husband loved the mussels.

I ordered tacos and found a hair in the sour cream. I informed the manager or owner, but their response was disappointing. They didn't apologize and simply asked if I wanted a replacement. I accepted, but emphasized that they need to be more careful because this is not acceptable. The least they could do was apologize; I wasn't looking for anything free. The manager seemed very careless about the whole situation, almost as if finding hair in the food was normal. read more
