Went in to have my glasses adjusted. Was not impressed with the time that was taken to ensure my glasses were comfortable and fit correctly. DO NOT GO HERE! They are understaffed and unprofessional. This is what happened: Made an app't three days in advance. Filled out all the paperwork online. Arrived exactly on time. Only one person was ahead of me. Sat for 20 minutes until optical assn't performed (3) sight tests on old equiptment. Then, waited again. Finally, the woman from the front desk escorted to me to a room and she - the receptionist - was testing my eyes with an eyechart! The Optometrist was nowhere to be found. I waited an hour and five minutes, and just walked out. At least (6) people were lined up at the front desk waiting to be seen. (I think some were walk-ins). I said to the receptionist, that I had a 2pm app't and I can't wait more than an hour. I called the regional manager, and he sounded somewhat concerned, but this place is the lowest of the low. I've had to reschedule 4 times because every time I show up for my appointment they are "backed up". Why even give people appointment times that you can't keep? I'm not some retiree who has 2 hours to burn during business hours.... read more

Store location on Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida. Ordered 2 pair of glasses 12/30/23. Got first pair in 3 weeks. Second pair was completed incorrectly and had to be reordered. Received no information about 2nd pair. Called and never received a call back. Went to the store and was told they shipped the glasses a week prior. Waited another week and went back to the store. Glasses were ready. Clerk couldn't tell me when they came in or why I didn't receive notification that they were ready. Another clerk told me they were aware my order was a little late. I told him 6 weeks, and no notification was more than a little late and he said the text message and email notifi was sent to me yesterday. I told him I received no notification. As I was leaving the parking lot I received the email and text message that my glasses were ready for pickup. So many issues. Biggest issue is how I was blown off by the store employees. I will not purchase from them again. Would advise you to go elsewhere. read more

Having had prior OK experiences with Visionworks over the years, it was terribly disappointing to deal with this location recently. Not only was the optometrist rude and abrupt beyond belief, the regular staff who are supposed to help one find glasses was abysmal! He wouldn't even get up off his seat to find the correct size of frames, just couldn't be bothered. If not for a friend, would not have found proper fitting frames at all. Maybe it is Pandemic Brain Syndrome where the employee feels it is an imposition to do the job courteously and correctly because they perceive others are unfairly living the good life on unemployment. Regardless of how one feels about life's circumstances, a pleasant disposition would help. read more

I was down visiting Sarasota. I live in New York City. The nose piece of my glasses broke, so I stopped here to see if I could get a repair. A wonderful glasses specialist named Elon helped me: he repaired the nose piece and even gave me a new glasses case to put them in. He would not take a dime! Fantastic service! Won't stand behind manufacturing defects. Manager say's there must be something wrong with my head to cause the frames to fail like they did. When I said 'you just lost a customer for life' they didn't really seem to care much at all. That's the last time Visionworks will see any $$ from me. Mr Manager, you are a real idiot for losing a long term vision customer over this. I hope your boss reads this and sees you are in the wrong job. read more

Just moved here. Went to DMV to get FL license; fully anticipating failing my "vision test" (which I did). Had failed same test in NV but they "Let me Slide"... So, not a surprise that I failed. I had my prescription from Las Vegas with me; so I went to Visionworks and Jason greated my father and myself. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. Jason even took a few extra minutes to answer some questions about questions a pair of glasses that were not even purchased at Visionworks. As a former manager of 30 years. I'm visiting on vacation right now, and one of my contact lenses spontaneously tore in half - the one time I didn't bring any spares with me!! I called Visionworks and Jennifer was SO helpful and generously gave me a free pair of sample lenses in my prescription to hold me over until I head back home. I only needed one, but she insisted I take the set and wouldn't accept when I offered to pay for them. Super friendly, kind, and a total lifesaver!!! Worst place I've ever purchased glasses from. The lenses are so bad I can't keep them clean. Tried Blue Dawn, alcohol, water, cleaners given to me by them. Even sat them in soap and water. Even the tech couldn't get them cleaned. She did not even offer to replace the lenses after I had been in there 4 times. Having to go out of my way each time. Bad buy. Stupid on my part. read more

I just started wearing glasses a couple years ago when I got tired of wearing contact lens and compromising on the quality of my vision. And I had no clue what I was doing. I went to several places looking at frames and striking out, not finding anything that really worked for me and not finding anyone who seemed very knowledgeable about frames and glasses. When I walked into Visionworks, I met Jennifer there, who was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and found some great glasses for me fairly quickly. My wife came to her when she needed new glasses. Same great results. Recently when I went back with a new prescription in hand, I found out that Jennifer had taken a brief hiatus, so I waited for her to return to work. When I came back in, she remembered my wife and me, and found another great pair of glasses. I always recommend getting expert advice when you don't know what you're doing - and that happens to me a lot! Jennifer saved me a lot of time and set me up with some great new glasses. I was there over the weekend . Called twice the week before . Gave all my information and never got a call back . When I came in there the sales associates were not even happy to be working there. One lady got snappy with me when I told her I needed my prescription first(which is in the back of the store where the MD is) Once I was told the MD had left that facility I went back to the front . Same lady saw me standing there for 5 mins . Then a gentleman came up to me and asked if I needed help I said yes I just been standing here. And he said I never saw you coming in. I said I know but everybody else did. I told him I had questions about contacts and that I didn't have my prescription which he said well we don't have it Z which wasn't what I was going to ask. Finally the lady who helped me get info of where the MD had moved told me I can make the purchase online. I normally would understand if they were supper busy since I was a walk in but I was the only one there and there was about 4 employees sitting there w no patients none bothered to help. Also the fact that I had called twice and never got a call back was pretty unprofessional as well . Will have to drive 13 miles out rather than the 2 miles to get better service . read more

My two girls had exams there this past weekend. Dr. Patel was great. The staff there was very attentive to them as they were picking out new frames. Was told it would be about five days for them to be ready. Got notified two days later that they were both ready. Fantastic! Will be back next year!! read more

The doctors and their staff are terrible! However, the Visionworks staff are great. Three times I had appointments scheduled to see the doctor and when I got there they either said I wasn't scheduled or they just were not there! Went home for the day I suppose....on a Friday at 2 pm despite my efforts to leave work and get my child there on time! When they claimed I wasn't even on the schedule, they had no explanation as to why I had received a confirmation email which stated the appointment time and date. Three times! This is despicable behavior displayed by licensed medical providers! Furthermore, many others have complained to Visionworks staff concerning the same issue. This is what they do, constantly. I don't understand, if a doctor does not want to see afternoon patients then why offer afternoon appointments? Don't waste your valuable time with these inconsiderate, arrogant medical people! read more

My second time here. Go see Bambi! She so rocks! Helped me quickly find 2 pairs of sunglasses I was looking for. She's very knowledgeable. Other staff were happy to chime in with what styles they liked. The prices are reasonable, too. My number one choice. I wait to come to FL when buying glasses, because of this place. read more
