Dr. Brown is very thorough. She has the most up to date digital equipment. She is also very upfront. She told me my cataracts don't need to be removed immediately, but I won't see crystal clear until they are. She also put up with me being a chicken. read more

I can't believe my original review was in 2017. Nothing has changed about the care you get from Dr. Brown. But if you are being treated for pre-diabetes or diabetes, make sure you tell Dr. Brown from the start because the eye exam is slightly different; it's your eyes so let her know. They have some new technology to look inside the eye and map it or look for abnormalities. It will add to your bill (Dr. Brown does not take insurance) but as I get one pair of eyes, I believe it's worth a few extra dollars. read more

Wish I could give this more stars but what started out as a pretty good place to go has just really failed. In a nutshell I've waited too long, one year, to have glasses made from a prescription which resulted from a full exam. The prescription was such a modest change that I wanted to wait until the budget allowed for buying new glasses. The new glasses are great Costco is awesome and have made every effort to adjust etc. I made an appointment to talk with dr. Brown -all I wanted to do was ask if She could check to see if prescription was still valid. Was it still the same strength etc. When I went into the office the two women at the front were just indifferent to what I was trying to figure out ,,, saying in unison "we need a full test centers in more than a year..." I couldn't even get to the point where I was willing to pay them if the prescription had indeed changed ... but if it hadn't changed then Costco has to figure this out. Please help. Nope just "need a full test...." In the end Dr. Brown's office is not interested in making sure all the classes and prescriptions work together she's doing her business and is separate from Costco and really could care less. She is quite good!! But she works With her staff every day surely she knows how they run things out there in front. We could've fixed this just a few minutes and as I said I was willing to pay the money but I never got to even have that conversation. Not recommended sorry to say. When I first visited last year experience was really quite good this was a pure customer service front end problem but of course if this is a policy set by the doctor it's a back and problem too. I decided to visit this office for contacts, based 100% on the reviews that I had read ..which were positive. They were spot-on. I decided to wait for an appointment with Dr. Brown, although I was offered a sooner appointment with an Associate. I did ask to be called in the event of a cancellation and it did happen. Dr Brown's professional manner is an exquisite combination of warmth ..friendliness and professionalism. You don't feel like a number .. simultaneously you realize she is all business and totally focusing on you while you're there. I needed to go back for an adjustment and she was just as personable.. efficient and took the time to explain again. I highly recommend this office, I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the woman at the front desk.. she was also very personable. Leave a little time for parking if you're going in season. Filled out all my paperwork online and submitted. Had an appointment for 2:45, I show up at 2:15 to make sure everything was good. The front staff reviewed everything and said "your good". They were helpful and did all my preliminary test, Puff test, retinal imaging etc. (took about 5-10 min) then said please come back at 2:45. I said ok great thx, I mean who doesn't like to walk around Costco! So I show up at 2:45 sharp. Waited 2-5 min to be seated in the exam room, then I sit... and sit... and sit... at 3:10 I get up and walk out of the exam room (25 min past my scheduled visit) and look at the front desk girl and said I've waited over 20 min and the exam could have been completed by now but I gotta go (as I had other things I needed to do that day). To which she replied "I'm sorry, would you like to reschedule?" I responded "I'll call you". Mind you, I wasn't rude but MAN, I was very irritated! Not at Costco, not at the front staff, but at Dr. Reeves! Don't get me wrong, I get it, sometimes things happen but common courtesy dictates that after 10-15 min past your scheduled appt. the doc should have, at the least, popped her head in and said, hey I apologize but I'm running a little behind and I'll be with you ASAP and I would have been fine with that because life doesn't always happen according to a perfect schedule. However when I walk out into the front office almost 25 min after my scheduled appt. and I hear laughter behind a closed door in the adjacent exam room I feel that my time was not being respected. I went there because my wife had a good experience with Dr. King so I may reschedule, but only with Dr. king. read more

Dr. Brown is the best eye doctor I have been to. I have terrible vision and super sensitive eyes so I get pretty bad anxiety about eye exams, with Dr. Brown I was relaxed and comfortable. She was so nice and didn't make me feel bad about having the vision of an octogenarian. The facility was clean and welcoming placed conveniently inside the Costco at Westfield mall, it was easy to locate and you don't even need to be a Costco member to enjoy the benefits of this great eye clinic! I highly recommend Brown Vision to everyone's eye care needs. As an added bonus, if you are in fact a Costco member, they have amazing deals right outside her door for designer glasses to suit your needs. I would recommend Brown Vision Care/ Dr. Brown to anyone that needs an optometrist in the Sarasota area. Brown Vision Care is located inside the Costco which makes is convenient for me, and other Costco members, however you don't need a Costco membership to see Dr. Brown. Brown Vision Care office staff was pleasant to deal with, and the office was spotless clean. Dr. Brown has some of the most state of the art medical equipment I've seen to date, and her examination fees to be the lowest I've been able to find, even cheaper than Walmart. Dr. Brown made me feel comfortable and gave me the sense that she truly cares about her patients. read more

I went to Costco because of price to be honest. I was blown away by the quality of service. The Eye Dr. and staff are wonderful. This is the best care I have received from any Doctor in a long time. Dr Brown cares about her work and her clients. She was very thorough with every stage of the exam. I had questions and she took the time to answer them and even went over my left eye a second time.Everything in her office was high tech equipment. I recommend her highly. Dr Brown has been caring for my eye health for 3 yrs. She is great, I won't go to anyone else. I had been suffering from severe headaches recently. She did a full comprehensive exam to ensure that the headaches weren't caused by something going on with my sight.
