If I could give 0 stars I would, I called made an appointment. They cancelled my appointment days later, without reason. Second time this happened. Super disrespectful staff the girl on the phone was obnoxious and snarky, would not recommend them AT ALL. They could care less about their patients! He made my glasses wrong twice and that's probably the reason he doesn't want to see me. read more

Showing up at appointment, was advised that there was a $25.00 co-pay, labelled a "refraction charge" which was not a covered benefit, even tho' insurance stated fully covered. I refused. The Dr. then agreed to waive this charge, advising that 'next year' they wouldn't waive it. Full eyeware shop, but not 'in-network' for ins. eyeware benefit, so a waste of time. L O N G wait time. This information is NOT correct! They are open all during the week and the hours it shows on Yelp show they are only open 15 minutes! We traveled from Dallas Texas to see Dr. Golden and he and his staff were terrific! It appeared to be a well oiled machine! Everyone did a terrific job and my husband ordered glasses after the exam! Dr. Golden has taken excellent care of my eyes for more than 10 years now. I've had fairly serious nearsightedness since I was a very young boy, so I've seen LOTS of eye doctors. After my wife & I moved to Sarasota many years ago, I went on the hunt for a good optometrist, and Dr. Golden was recommended to me. Right away, it was clear to me that he had a superior level of expertise and credibility. He's knowledgeable, professional, and highly efficient. His office runs on schedule (thank you for that!), and his staff are friendly and helpful. The contact lenses and glasses I've purchased from this office over the years have been fantastic, and I highly recommend Dr. Golden and his office to anyone looking for excellent eye care! read more

My wife and I went to Golden Vision for her eye exam and and glasses. I read the previous Yelps and was curious if the vitriol was warranted. I did not tell my wife about the negative reviews. My wife was told she did not need glasses. So I scheduled an appointment for myself mindful of the previous negative reviews. Dr. Golden treated me with respect and did an exam. The exam was way more comprehensive than I expected. I received my new lenses a couple of days ago and I am delighted. I took a few days to adjust but now I see like in my teen years. I am only writing this view to save anyone else from experiencing this practice. First of all let me state that I am an optometry student, I was on vacation and had to visit Golden Vision due to a mild condition that arose due to chemicals coming in contact with my eyes at a pool. The receptionist seemed friendly enough and was quick to get me into the examination room, but that's where the pleasant experience ended. As I sat there the doctor came in and I attempted to introduce myself and he replied "ok." I assumed that he was just having a bad day and I tried to start some small talk by asking where he went to school to study optometry. He looked at me and said "if you're done talking I'd like to get some questions answered about your condition." Taken a little aback, I told him my symptoms and cut the chit chat. He then proceeded write me a prescription and then walked out of the room without saying a word. Who ever was working that day, walked in and said to me "yeah, sorry about that." I told her not to worry about it, I paid my dues and asked if I could write down my diagnosis and treatment plan before I left. I noticed what he had prescribed seemed a bit drastic for how mild my condition was, so I called my primary OD back home and asked him what he thought about my script. He said to me, "Holy crap are your eyes falling out of your head? That's some extremely drastic treatment for a condition that is typically mild." Needless to say, my primary doctor cut the application and treatment time down and I was better in a week. I wouldn't normally give someone this poor of a review for just being cranky, but being reckless with what you prescribe patients is beyond irritating, it's down right irresponsible and embarrassing to the profession. read more

Worst experience ever. I believe in patronizing local businesses, rather than the big box stores (although I've never had such a horrific experience with a big retailer). I've been waiting five weeks for a replacement lens. I've been lied to, paid excessive amounts of money for frames & replacement lenses, been jerked around with a "take it or leave it" attitude from the office staff. They have 2 full time woman up front the older woman is very unprofessional a constant fountain of sexual innuendo (I like to talk trash with the best of them but I'm a boat builder not a person that works in an optometrist office) The young lady with the dark hair is very professional and really the only bright spot in the whole organization. My Beef is with Dr. Golden really his blathering assistant is inconsequential, unfortunately you meet simpletons everywhere you go. I went to see Dr. Golden for a case of conjunctivitis. Every time I have seen this Dr. He go's on about how important it is to see an Eye Dr. Bla Bla He once told me that "I could die from not seeing him" At that point I told him to put a sock in it or I would go else where. I digress. He diagnosed my conjunctivitis and sent me home with eye drops. After a week of using the drops it was still not working so I called him and wanted to know if I should come in because it went away but came back. He prescribed drops over the phone. I took those for a week and it was not helping. I go into see him he looks at my eye and has a look on his face like WTF. Then he tells me that I have the biggest Herpetic growth on my eye he has ever seen and that he has been dumping steroids in my eye the exact opposite of what you are supposed to do that makes it grow. So because he couldn't be bothered to have me come into his office I went through months of pain to get rid of this thing and I have permanent scar tissue on my eye that could cause me trouble in the furture. He had me on an eyedrop called Keterolac for over 2 months that is only to be used for 14 day maximum. Thank God for Center for sight they got me straightened out. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DR.
