Normal Annual Exam went Excellent.........Very Professional Staff. I would recommend my friends and Family to go visit

I had an eye exam and was told that my vision changed 'just a little'...like .01 change. Then they wanted almost $400 for glasses which I couldn't afford. In an attempt to purchase glasses from someone else, I called to obtain my pupillary distance that was not listed on my prescription and was told they only provide this information for people that are purchasing glasses from them. In this day and age, people are barely making ends meet. Unfortunately, I can't afford your glasss. I was able to obtain my pupillary distance from a different provider whom I will be switching to and was able to purchase my glasses for $350 cheaper. I'll never go back go this place! read more

I went to vision source last year and had a great experience, Made my husband an appointment for this year, as well as myself! My appointment was at 9am so, I arrived 15 min early like they always want you to do,Their doors were locked, before I went back I asked the lady at the front desk if I could have my prescription instead of buying glasses there, attitudes instantly changed! From when I first arrived at 845, Their doors were locked and they were sitting at their desks chatting having coffee, They didn't bother to let anyone in until EXACTLY 9am, Then they took my info, I figured they would take me back right away since my appointment was at 9. Nope. have a seat mam. starting from the front desk, to the tech in the back, They acted like they were doing me a favor by being there, that my time was unimportant! when I went to the back with the tech, one of the first questions from him was about me wanting my prescription, I started telling him what happened and his response was, I didn't make your appointment, do you want it or not! NOPE, I don't. My husband canceled his as well! I don't know who owns this practice, But, I am positive they don't know how their employees treat people. I have visited this place in Parrish now twice for contacts and glasses and have been very happy with my visits. The place is clean, friendly, professional and convenient. I am so happy with my multifocal contacts for near and far distance!! No more readers! I tell all my friends to come here who wear readers or have a hard time seeing the menu when we go out! This practice is a joke... Do not waste your time, because that's exactly what they will do. Waste your time and money. If you like incompetence and waiting 40 minutes or more past your appointment time... then this is the place for you. Horrible... read more

She provided a referral and I was able to get an appointment with a highly regarded specialist the next day. read more

Senior citizens beware. Vision Source is an in-network provider for Aeta Medicare Explorer Premier (PPO). I called to book a routine eye exam and was told, " You have to have a pre-excisting eye condition in order to be seen by one of our doctors." What? Is that even legal, I ask? I don't believe so. Vision Source doesn't provide seniors with preventive eye care. read more

I went to Vision Source - Lakewood Ranch as a new patient for an annual eye exam. The minute I entered I was greeted attentively and seen shortly after by the technician who performed the initial exam process. Lindsay was friendly and extremely adept at using the high tech equipment. Dr. Bedinghaus then continued with my exam. He did not rush, explained everything, answered my questions and was extremely informative. Purchasing the glasses I needed was not frustrating as it had been in the past. Elyse handled all my insurance details and she was patient and honest as I tried on numerous glasses. The other optical technician, Dawn also assisted in helping me find the perfect look. Together, they made it a stress-free experience and I ended up with beautiful glasses for an amazing price. This place rocks and will be my new source for vision care. read more

This place is AWFUL! I paid top dollar for RayBan sunglasses only to learn they put lenses in the RB frame from their own lab. Therefore they tried to sell me a pair of RayBan knock offs! Then when I challenged them they said it was normal. I got called home before the authentic glasses came in so they said they shipped them. They sat on a desk for 8 days before they were shipped. poorest customer service ever!!! read more

Based on reviews, I had high expectations. Staff are very pleasant, but overall, I had a very negative experience. Glasses came in after 2 weeks, with terrible glare at bottom of lenses. They promise to "send them back to the lab" for correction (even though on the door it says lab is in house). After one more week, I receive texts and emails that my glasses are ready to be picked up. I go and lo and behold, the glasses are NOT in -somehow they send out "automated messages" and they are so sorry. They promise glasses will come in the next day and they will call me. Never received a call so I call them at 3 PM to find out yes, the glasses came in that morning and sorry, they are closing in 45 minutes and are closed on Saturday. So today I go to get the glasses, and it appears that nothing has been done to them, they are still glaring. Lots of useless excuses from the staff so I cancelled my order, went to Costco and got more attractive frames for half the cost and they will be in within a week. Would not recommend Vision Source Lakewood Ranch. Terrible service. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They made me wait almost an hour just to be seen. I was on my lunch hour so I was late getting back! They overcharged me , then wouldn't give me my prescription when I didn't have all the money up front. There are hidden charges that I didn't need. Read the small print! Dr. Troy Bedinghaus was willing to come in after hours on a Sunday or the following day. He and his office went ABOVE and beyond with customer service!! I went here on the recommendation of my Ophthalmologist Thomas Shane MD of Sarasota Florida who highly recommended the place. I must say the place had the latest high tech equipment and the offices and waiting room were very well appointed and extremely clean. I was seen within 10 minutes of my scheduled appointment and that is Amazing nowadays if you have been to a doctors lately. I found the staff very friendly and well educated in eye care. Dr. Bedinghsus who examined me was very attentive to my complaints with my vision and spent enough time with me where I thought he fully understood my problems and took the necessary steps to correct my vision.
