My husband and I went to this location near UTC mall. We were taken care of very quickly. We did not have an appointment but it didn't matter. We had our eyes checked by Dr Stone. She was very knowledgeable and quick. At the check out process we met Kay. She is very sweet and answered any questions we had. We had a great experience. read more

I had amazing help from Cameron and Sabrina - the day after Christmas! I could not believe that they were open - they were so welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable about financials, frames, and lenses. So so grateful. read more

great experience very well priced and reasonable. Staff was extremely kind made the process easy. I am very happy that they were able to show me how to put the contacts in. I was happy with how quickly they were able to get me in on short notice read more

let me bore u w a short story, and if any of it is untrue, let them get back to me. I go here for the first time, w vision ins, and they charge me, for one pair of eyeglasses, $735. my ins covers about $300, so i have to pay $415 cash. my co-worker who does not have vision ins, gets an eye exam and 2 pair of eyeglasses for $550. you do the simple effin math, and decide. they tried to f me, and instead lost a probable life long customer. if eyeglassworld wants to contest my truth, reply any time, and i will supply documentation. beware when you deal with these people, utc off univ pkwy. read more

I had never been to Eyeglass World before this morning. I walked in, a non-customer, and asked if they could help with some bent frames. In a matter of minutes my eyeglasses were fixed and my attempt at payment was refused. The people working there couldn't have been nicer or more professional. I promised to return at some point and actually purchase a new pair of glasses. The wide selection of frames and reasonable prices were impressive. read more

Sabreena was very helpful! Everyone was so warm and courteous. I'd recommend them to anyone

I was treated rudely, I was asked to return too many times for their mistakes. After waiting for call to let me know the glass were ready, I called just to find out they made another mistak, and I would have to start over. I called custom service to complain and they left me on hour, till I had to hang up, over 20 minutes. I do not recommend this business and will make sure all my clients and friends know how awful I've been treated. Regards Dr Kim Shallcross read more

I got my progressive glasses in one day. No appointment and They confirmed my insurance Thank you so much !

The best experience! My husband left his glasses in Texas, and was scheduled for surgery the next day in Florida. We called in a panic for help and they saw him immediately. The glasses were perfect and one day service. The girls who took care of us were kind and considerate. Highly recommend! read more

I had a wonderful experience at Eyeglass World in Sarasota. Dr. Loher did a very thorough exam and my vision was greatly improved with my new prescription. Mia helped me select some really stylish frames, and took accurate measurements. She explained my lens choices in detail and helped me choose the best designs for my lifestyle. I found the prices to be very reasonable as well! I would recommend their services! read more

I had a little trouble finding Eyeglass World but it is in the biggest mall I've ever seen, so that's my fault. I arrived, filled in the paperwork (already done online, but not in their file), had my exam, chose glasses on their $89 special two-fer & all before noon. Then I stopped at 4:30 to get the new specs! Excellent, very pleasant experience with caring professionals. Superb service, fast, efficient, a super beginning to a long day on the road & a superb ending! I know it worked well since when I left I was able to pick out the feathers on a seagull winging across the road!! One thing I would change is the air freshener/scent used in the office. Ick! read more

Quality is questionable. I just keep that third time I've been here to get my eyeglasses adjusted, right

The staff at this location are kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable - i flew here from Los Angeles yesterday and woke up to discover I had forgotten to bring my contact lenses (and I am blind without them) - Galo got me a sample from the back for the days I was traveling and didn't charge me or require that I purchase anything further - I was so grateful I decided to buy a pair of sunglasses only to discover that I could have two pair for the price of one - so now I'm set with enough contact lenses to get me home and a pair of ray ban and a pair of coach sunglasses for the price of the more expensive pair - THANK you guys for the needed lift in my spirits :) read more

Eyeglass World - Optometrists Near Me - Sarasota, Florida

Hey, Just a shout out to Dave at Eyeglass World on University in Sarasota. I am so careless with my eyeglasses and broke two pairs in the space of two days. Dave repaired my mangled glasses and replaced some screws on meh sunglasses too! He was professional and friendly and capable. Gotta love Eyeglass World. read more

Horrible experience! Had an appt. 10/23/2021 @ 4:45pm. 4:20pm: Arrived early to fill out paperwork, etc. prior to appointment time. 4:50pm: Go back and have the random little tests done. 5:00pm get put in an exam room to wait for the eye doctor. 5:30pm: No doctor, No follow-up (doctor is running late, etc.) Walk out and tell them this is inexcusable, like my time is not as important as anyone else's. 5:32pm: Receive an email that I missed my appt. and could I take a survey as to why I missed my appt.. Do Not Recommend!!! I'll be finding somewhere else that can handle patients, adhering to an appointment schedule that doesn't allow a 45 minute wait without a follow-up or follow through. read more

The staff are fine, but the optometrist was too busy reading magazines in her office to do a good job. I just needed reading glasses, but she wrote me a prescription for trifocals. When I call back to see about getting glasses that are what I need, the optometrist brushes me off. She says it's simple. If it's so simple, my glasses should work, but I told the guy in the front what I wanted and the glasses I got are way too powerful. They keep breaking too. I have to get them fixed every month or two. They also advertise same-day glasses, but it turns out that is only for very simple prescriptions. On top of this, I just asked them to send me my prescription and they refused. They said I have to go into the store and blamed HIPPAA rules. HIPPAA doesn't prevent a patient from getting access to their own records. It's just their stupid company policy. Go somewhere else. read more

I needed new contacts and glasses. Have been to several other stores in the past, but stopped into Eyeglass World UTC. Paula waited on me, saved me $$$ and got me new glasses in a few hours and was fantastic with her customer service! Very highly recommend!!!! read more

Going in with mt daughters usually an all day affai. Sabrena at the UTC mall location was awesome l. She gave us some suggestion, we were then able to try them out but she constantly checked on us. She also helped to understand our insurance coverage. The doctor also did a detailed exam. read more

Great job at Eyeglass World. I lost my glasses and went there because they advertised glasses in 1 day. Well, they did it and the glasses were perfect!! In fact, better than the ones I lost! They called my optometrist in PA, got the prescription and did the glasses that day. If I lived in Sarasota full time, I would use them all the time! Just fine. read more

Long wait times and glasses are expensive, expect up selling. The salesperson was friendly but it still felt like you were inconveniencing them with questions. Due to Covid they require a mask and can not help people that can not wear a mask or maybe don't want to wear one for whatever reasons. Very poor business management. Many other places have systems in place to accommodate for everyone and not just certain people! read more

Our first visit should have been a sign of the service that was to come. We went in on Saturday and my husband scheduled an appt for the following Wednesday. Since I work we took about 45 mins to pick out a frame that my husband liked. We handed the frame to Crystal who told us that she would hold the frame for us for his appt on Wed. Wed came and my husband had the appt and went to have his glasses and a sunglass made. But the frame we had picked out days before could not be found. So the next Saturday we went back and picked out a new frame and waited for about 30 mins to sit with a rep to get them made. Everything seemed to be ok. We were told it would take about 10 days...needless to say no call from Eyeglass world. My husband called to find out that it would be another few days and they would call on day 14 I call the office and spoke to someone who told me they were in and that lab tech just need to cut them and they would be ready before they closed at 6 pm. Well to no surprise when my husband went in to get the glasses the sunglasses had the wrong script in them and need to be sent back and his everyday glasses one of the lenses got damaged during the tech making them. So they need to be sent back to the lab to be remade as well. We were told by crystal it's going to be another 10 to 14 days really! Do yourself a favor stay away from here their service sucks. At this time I will wait to see what they do to make things right but they don't even feel bad about what has happed or have offered and discounts. read more

This place is a joke. They advertise great pricing to get you in the door, but you end up paying as much or more than any other place! Then you wait Very very long for someone to wait on you! read more

This is the second time they said that my glasses would be done and they're not. It's been over two weeks and still not completed. I was given excuses that they were still being worked on wherever the lenses were coming from. No excuses, complete the glasses when you said you would 7 days to 2 weeks. There weren't any issues with me paying you on time!! Excuses are a sad statement for not doing what was supposed to be done in a timely and professional manner. Clearly there is a problem at this location as other customers had/have the same issues. read more

Picking the right frame can be overwhelming but Venus made the process simple. She knew what shape and size frames would be best for me, and didn't try to pressure me to buy the most expensive frames. She also clearly explained all the options (bifocal choices, coatings, etc.), making the process quite simple. She knows her stuff, and is a delight to work with! read more

Just horrible!! Booked appointment for 11:30. Didn't see the doctor till 12:40!!!! Who waits over an hour for an eye appointment. Unfortunately me! read more

Loved this place!! Christine did my eye exam, she was very professional, efficient, and explained everything to me. Venus fit me for 2 pair of eyeglasses. She was amazing! They worked with my insurance, and explained my benefits to me. Overall, a great experience!! read more

If I could give less stars, I would. Highway robbery. They just keep trying to up-charge you. The first time I ordered my glasses, the person helping me ignored that I had a prescription for close and far...I waited weeks for super expensive reading glasses. When they realized I needed it changed, they up-charged me and sent them out again forever, waiting. In one year, one set of lenses started to crack for no reason...they promptly covered it...sent it out and I got them back very easily. It happened again about six months later and I was told I'm out of warranty but "this isn't right, let me talk to my manager." Two and a half weeks later I'm told they can't do anything and will fix them for "half price"-$225. Again, I did nothing and the lenses just started cracking. Very, very unhappy. You've lost my business and anyone I can warn away. Will never come back here, felt more like a used car lot. read more

Got my prescription measured by some nice and smart doctors, then Nahshon helped me pick out stylish glasses. 5/5

I had a great experience here. The eye exam seemed to be comprehensive, and frame shopping was unhurried, with many styles to choose from. Venus was lovely to work with and explained everything very clearly; she even called me after I left to let me know my glasses were even cheaper than originally quoted. I wouldn't hesitate to come back. read more

The best service you can ever get for your eyes. Christine was so thorough and professional and was the kindest Dr that ever examined my eyes. Then getting lenses was just as great of an experience. They recommended putting a reader part in my lenses which I never had and I love it!!! I would also recommend the insurance for lenses scratches. I would highly recommend this location!!!! read more

Worst customer service ever. Stood in front of store for more than 10 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge I was there and was completely ignored. Very disappointing. Don't waste your time. read more

Very poor service, glasses not delivered on time. Had to retake eye exam because 1st exam was rushed through and perception was wrong. Then reordered and promised both pairs in 7 to 10 days. Only one was completed and have to wait another 7 to 10 for 2nd pair. I advise to try another place, not worth the aggravation read more

Nobody likes to be judged but that's exactly what I got when I came there, I never ever got a smile from the woman helping me with the frames and she answered everything I said with an attitude, then she had the nerve to tell me I can't afford a certain pair of glasses! How dare she! I have never received such treatment at any business I've ever been to! And it was not just the single employee, but others who helped me fit them the next day gave me the same treatment! All I could do was smile and let it go until I had time to contact their manager. But the reason I give 2 stars is because the manger was extremely sweet and understanding to why I was upset for I am also reasonable, she had patience to talk it out with me and even offered me a free pair of glasses, although I did not take the offer it was a nice gesture, I am so sorry for her employees read more

Good service and a great selection of frames. However the place was an absolute mess. Frames were all over the place and when I mentioned to one of employees she just shrugged her shoulders. I was able to find a pair I love and am very happy with them. Just make sure you have a lot of time and the patience to find what you like. The woman who fitted my glasses was very nice and extremely competent. read more

I had a great experience here. Cristina patiently helped me find the perfect frames and when I picked them up, they fit exactly right. I was very pleased with the price too. This is the second time I have had my glasses made here and both times they were great. I used to go to Lenscrafters, but Eyeglass World has been better for me. read more

never ever use this company. following previous posts i am told i will be contacted but never happened. contacted via facebook with more false promises and told i have to call customer service. theur staff would not know service if it hit them in the damn face.this company just take your money and give you wrong frames and tell you to keep them like they are doing you a service. if they are too damn big they will go in tne trash. i want the size i paid for read more

Brought my daughter in on a Saturday afternoon to pick up glasses. Walked in and started looking around for someone and Christina came over and greeted us immediately and asked if we were picking up glasses. She was very friendly and helpful as she fit and adjusted my daughter's new frames. She looked around and found a case for us and was very polite and cheerful in general. Overall it was so easy, so fast, in and out. Very glad we came here and will be coming back again. read more

First, I went into the store because of the low prices and same day services. These were both promises that this store could not fulfill. I was upsold at every step in the ordering process and then I was informed that because of my cylinder, I would have to have my lenses ordered. Ok, seven days isn't optimal, but I'll live. Seven days pass and I get a call telling me that UPS lost an order so I'll have to wait 2 days. I couldnt understand how 7-10 turned to 2 the second time but i went with it. Two more days pass and i still dont have my glasses or even a call from the store. Never going back and will make sure no friends or family make that mistake. read more

After a bad experience with a competitor in Sarasota, I stopped into Eyeglass World and was pleasantly surprised. I use trifocal lenses which are usually a challenge, but after some fine tuning and lots of patience on their part they got the job done. They were very professional from the eye exam to the glasses, everything worked out quite well. I will be sure to go back when the time comes. read more
