I go here for the first time, w vision ins, and they charge me, for one pair of eyeglasses, $735. my ins covers about $300, so i have to pay $415 cash. my co-worker who does not have vision ins, gets an eye exam and 2 pair of eyeglasses for $550. you do the simple effin math, and decide. they tried to f me, and instead lost a probable life long customer. if eyeglassworld wants to contest my truth, reply any time, and i will supply documentation. beware when you deal with these people, utc off univ pkwy. read more

I had never been to Eyeglass World before this morning. I walked in, a non-customer, and asked if they could help with some bent frames. In a matter of minutes my eyeglasses were fixed and my attempt at payment was refused. The people working there couldn't have been nicer or more professional. I was treated rudely, I was asked to return too many times for their mistakes. After waiting for call to let me know the glass were ready, I called just to find out they made another mistak, and I would have to start over. I called custom service to complain and they left me on hour, till I had to hang up, over 20 minutes. I had a little trouble finding Eyeglass World but it is in the biggest mall I've ever seen, so that's my fault. I arrived, filled in the paperwork (already done online, but not in their file), had my exam, chose glasses on their $89 special two-fer & all before noon. Then I stopped at 4:30 to get the new specs! Excellent, very pleasant experience with caring professionals. Superb service, fast, efficient, a super beginning to a long day on the road & a superb ending! I know it worked well since when I left I was able to pick out the feathers on a seagull winging across the road!! One thing I would change is the air freshener/scent used in the office. The staff at this location are kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable - i flew here from Los Angeles yesterday and woke up to discover I had forgotten to bring my contact lenses (and I am blind without them) - Galo got me a sample from the back for the days I was traveling and didn't charge me or require that I purchase anything further - I was so grateful I decided to buy a pair of sunglasses only to discover that I could have two pair for the price of one - so now I'm set with enough contact lenses to get me home and a pair of ray ban and a pair of coach sunglasses for the price of the more expensive pair - THANK you guys for the needed lift in my spirits :) read more

Had an appt. 10/23/2021 @ 4:45pm. 4:20pm: Arrived early to fill out paperwork, etc. prior to appointment time. 4:50pm: Go back and have the random little tests done. 5:00pm get put in an exam room to wait for the eye doctor. 5:30pm: No doctor, No follow-up (doctor is running late, etc.) Walk out and tell them this is inexcusable, like my time is not as important as anyone else's. 5:32pm: Receive an email that I missed my appt. and could I take a survey as to why I missed my appt.. Do Not Recommend!!! I'll be finding somewhere else that can handle patients, adhering to an appointment schedule that doesn't allow a 45 minute wait without a follow-up or follow through. read more

The staff are fine, but the optometrist was too busy reading magazines in her office to do a good job. I just needed reading glasses, but she wrote me a prescription for trifocals. When I call back to see about getting glasses that are what I need, the optometrist brushes me off. She says it's simple. If it's so simple, my glasses should work, but I told the guy in the front what I wanted and the glasses I got are way too powerful. They keep breaking too. I have to get them fixed every month or two. They also advertise same-day glasses, but it turns out that is only for very simple prescriptions. On top of this, I just asked them to send me my prescription and they refused. They said I have to go into the store and blamed HIPPAA rules. HIPPAA doesn't prevent a patient from getting access to their own records. It's just their stupid company policy. Go somewhere else. read more

Long wait times and glasses are expensive, expect up selling. The salesperson was friendly but it still felt like you were inconveniencing them with questions. Due to Covid they require a mask and can not help people that can not wear a mask or maybe don't want to wear one for whatever reasons. Very poor business management. Our first visit should have been a sign of the service that was to come. We went in on Saturday and my husband scheduled an appt for the following Wednesday. Since I work we took about 45 mins to pick out a frame that my husband liked. We handed the frame to Crystal who told us that she would hold the frame for us for his appt on Wed. Wed came and my husband had the appt and went to have his glasses and a sunglass made. But the frame we had picked out days before could not be found. So the next Saturday we went back and picked out a new frame and waited for about 30 mins to sit with a rep to get them made. Everything seemed to be ok. We were told it would take about 10 days...needless to say no call from Eyeglass world. My husband called to find out that it would be another few days and they would call on day 14 I call the office and spoke to someone who told me they were in and that lab tech just need to cut them and they would be ready before they closed at 6 pm. Well to no surprise when my husband went in to get the glasses the sunglasses had the wrong script in them and need to be sent back and his everyday glasses one of the lenses got damaged during the tech making them. So they need to be sent back to the lab to be remade as well. We were told by crystal it's going to be another 10 to 14 days really! Do yourself a favor stay away from here their service sucks. At this time I will wait to see what they do to make things right but they don't even feel bad about what has happed or have offered and discounts. read more

This is the second time they said that my glasses would be done and they're not. It's been over two weeks and still not completed. I was given excuses that they were still being worked on wherever the lenses were coming from. No excuses, complete the glasses when you said you would 7 days to 2 weeks. There weren't any issues with me paying you on time!! Excuses are a sad statement for not doing what was supposed to be done in a timely and professional manner. She knew what shape and size frames would be best for me, and didn't try to pressure me to buy the most expensive frames. If I could give less stars, I would. Highway robbery. They just keep trying to up-charge you. The first time I ordered my glasses, the person helping me ignored that I had a prescription for close and far...I waited weeks for super expensive reading glasses. When they realized I needed it changed, they up-charged me and sent them out again forever, waiting. In one year, one set of lenses started to crack for no reason...they promptly covered it...sent it out and I got them back very easily. It happened again about six months later and I was told I'm out of warranty but "this isn't right, let me talk to my manager." Two and a half weeks later I'm told they can't do anything and will fix them for "half price"-$225. Again, I did nothing and the lenses just started cracking. Very, very unhappy. You've lost my business and anyone I can warn away. Will never come back here, felt more like a used car lot. read more

Very poor service, glasses not delivered on time. Had to retake eye exam because 1st exam was rushed through and perception was wrong. Then reordered and promised both pairs in 7 to 10 days. Nobody likes to be judged but that's exactly what I got when I came there, I never ever got a smile from the woman helping me with the frames and she answered everything I said with an attitude, then she had the nerve to tell me I can't afford a certain pair of glasses! How dare she! I have never received such treatment at any business I've ever been to! And it was not just the single employee, but others who helped me fit them the next day gave me the same treatment! All I could do was smile and let it go until I had time to contact their manager. Good service and a great selection of frames. However the place was an absolute mess. Frames were all over the place and when I mentioned to one of employees she just shrugged her shoulders. I was able to find a pair I love and am very happy with them. Just make sure you have a lot of time and the patience to find what you like. Brought my daughter in on a Saturday afternoon to pick up glasses. Walked in and started looking around for someone and Christina came over and greeted us immediately and asked if we were picking up glasses. She was very friendly and helpful as she fit and adjusted my daughter's new frames. She looked around and found a case for us and was very polite and cheerful in general. First, I went into the store because of the low prices and same day services. These were both promises that this store could not fulfill. I was upsold at every step in the ordering process and then I was informed that because of my cylinder, I would have to have my lenses ordered. Ok, seven days isn't optimal, but I'll live. Seven days pass and I get a call telling me that UPS lost an order so I'll have to wait 2 days. I couldnt understand how 7-10 turned to 2 the second time but i went with it. Two more days pass and i still dont have my glasses or even a call from the store. Never going back and will make sure no friends or family make that mistake. read more

After a bad experience with a competitor in Sarasota, I stopped into Eyeglass World and was pleasantly surprised. I use trifocal lenses which are usually a challenge, but after some fine tuning and lots of patience on their part they got the job done.
