I went in for refraction which is covered annually by my plan and also asked for a contacts prescription. I was then going to go elsewhere (the associated LensCrafters doesn't accept my plan (??!!)).. Without cautioning me, Dr. Fallin ate up my whole hardware benefit ($75) by submitting a "contact fitting." So now, the whole trip was wasted time. Not at all happy. Also, Fallin was very impatient with me for my practice of inserting contacts; acted like I was some sort of idiot (I'm not - I've got a Ph.D. in chemistry). To top it all off, the sample contacts were terrible; couldn't see out of my left eye - the contact lens must have had some sort of film on it. Upon explaining the benefits problem, they suggested I pay them $75 to get my $75 plan benefit restored. I shall stay far away from this place!!!!!! read more

This is not a review of Dr. Fallin who is both competent and helpful. The Lenscrafters franchise with which he is affiliated is abysmal. The staff are incompetent and inclined to mistakes. After 1.5 hours of determining that EACH pair of glasses I selected were somehow not eligible for any of the promised features, sales or discounts, I left. This was the same experience two years ago when I purchased glasses here as well. Its a simple prescription. Classic bait and switch. My mistake for returning. Avoid. read more

From the moment of walking in I was greeted almost instantly! I had an eye appointment and was taken care of right away with 6 out of 5 star service. Everyone really takes their time here and makes sure you're taken care of the best way possible. The team there made me feel so comfortable and helped me find the perfect prescription frames! The one thing that also stood out in particular is they really take their time with you and you'll never feel rushed. The eye exam was so in depth and almost felt like I learned so much about our eyes and eye health. I've gone here twice and both times and have been impressed with the whole place. The staff is helpful, honest and friendly! Another reviewer said the doctor was too serious....? I'm all for levity but from an eye doctor? I have seriously bad vision and the doctor was very helpful, knowledgeable and thorough in examining my eyes -- just what I needed. And wow; the engineers in the back have twice now made lenses for me in short order where normally everyone else has had to send my very strong prescription (20/200 with a very bad astigmatism in one eye!) out to be made offsite. I've been seeing eye doctors and getting glasses and contacts my whole life. I haven't always thought Lens Crafters was the tops but this one is. read more

Currently waiting my eyes have been dilated. Dr Fallin is a great Optometrist. No problems here at all. So the the exam and screenings have been great. Being a diabetic it's pretty important to get regular check ups and make sure my eyes healthy. read more

I needed an emergency pair of glasses because you know toddlers. Anyway my prescription had changed drastically for me but clearly not enough for the salesman. Whose first name was Bob. I'm not sure of a last name, but he rushed me through the process and was basically a total jerk. I know I didn't help his commissions any but that is no reason to provide horrid customer service. My review is on the LensCrafters store, not the Optometrist. I see my own doctor for the Rx, but I always get my prescription sunglasses made by the LenseCrafters store at the Westfield Sarasota Square Mall. I honestly cannot praise them enough. If you go anywhere else, you are wasting your time. Great selection, great deals, but the real difference is the people! I have worked with Dan (Daniel) for years and my entire family went there this year again to get glasses. He worked patiently with us on the selection, worked out the best deal and treated us with utmost professionalism, respect and courtesy through the entire process. I also had the pleasure of meeting Tanner, the store manager. There was a small cosmetic problem with one of our orders, and he went out of his way to make it right and make sure that everything was 100% as ordered we left with a smile. He proves the point that good people will result in good business. And I cannot stress enough that this a very personal business that you cannot just do "online". Get the professionals at this LensCrafters location involved and you will be taken care of. It will be good for your eyes and your pocketbook. Beware of adjustments: The associate heated my glasses to bend them, without taking out the lenses, and they are now ruined. They had antireflective coating on them that is now crackled, called "crazing" and are cloudy. The associate obviously had no training in this area. read more

I have been to this office twice in two years for scheduled annual eye exams and have been thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and caring that I received from the staff. The Optometrists performed very detailed exams and the staff made sure I was comfortable and assisted me in the choice of my eyewear. Everything started out great when I initially went there my first trip, although it took about an hour to do my eye exam which was the longest it has ever taken... When I got home that night i noticed that my lens wasn't fully put into the frame and looked like the frame was splitting apart. I was worried so I called right away and they told me to stop back in when possible. (I guess I could have caught this myself but after being in the mall for hours long we wanted to leave so I suppose you could say it was partially my fault for not catching it, but still I feel like they shouldn't have missed that themselves.) Two days later I stopped back after my classes to have them look at my glasses and they fixed them right away no problem. While I was there I had informed them when I tried the new glasses on, things were not as sharp as my old glasses... They checked the power of my old to new and the friggin optometrist lowered my script a whole 1.00! He said he was going to because I didn't need them that powerful. I was thinking maybe .25, but that is ridiculous! I can barely even use them. So now I have to go back a 3rd time coming up because there was no doctor in at around 5pm on a Thursday... I live 45mins away. I wanted to go to a lenscrafters because of a bigger selection, but I should've just stayed local. I probably would of found something I liked around where I live and saved on the gas and hassle/headache. The only thing good about this place was the receptionist and the floor staff that help with the glasses were all very professional and polite. That is the only reason why I giving a rating as I am otherwise it would be a 1. They say they will take care of me, but of course they say that. Unless they plan to help make it right for the constant trips and annoyance then my rating will stay the same. read more

I have been seeing Dr Fallin for about 13 years at the LensCrafters office in Sarasota. I have seen him mostly for routine eye exams but also several times for corneal ulcers. I looked at some reviews and saw that others complain he is too serious. I want "serious" when it comes to my vision. I usually wear contacts but use glasses too. I went today for exam and received the whole treatment. I use mono focal contacts which usually work well. Lately having problems with close up. Fallin did the work up and within minutes came up with a possible solution. At first it didn't work out so well. So he adjusted prescription on the spot. After that I felt like I had 2020 again. After all they see years I am amazed that he keeps his prices so low. If you're looking for a quality optometrist physician look no further. I have recommended many friends to Dr. Fallin. And it is only fault is being serious, I'm just glad that he seriously wants us to see well. read more

Dr Fallin is a wonderful Optometrist who my family has seen for the past 10+ years. I always had a wonderful experience with Dr Fallin, however, the LensCrafters sales people have much to be desired. Either pushy or inexperienced; I have had the right lenses put in the wrong frames, the wrong Rx put in frames, and they even broke a VERY expensive pair of frames I had custom lens made for. I stopped purchasing any hardware from LensCrafters and only have my Rx done UNTIL I had the DISPLEASURE of meeting DANIELLE a receptionist/optical tech. This receptionist was rude, condescending, angry and dismissive, actually had the gall to wave her hand and say "bye-bye" when we threatened to leave after she interrupted and commented on a family conversation. We walked out, Dr Fallin just lost an entire family over this obnoxious front desk person. If she actually is an Optical Tech she should have no close interaction with patients. As a psychiatric nurse I can honestly say this woman is unstable and has obvious mental health issues, as evidenced by, her hostile manner to my family. read more
