In addition the optician argued with me about my sight and told me my doctor did not get the prescription correct. It was time to move on. I was very fortunate to find Soto's Optical. All the staff were friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. This was a very refreshing change from the previous optician. If you have worn glasses for any length of time you know when your glasses do not fit properly and your vision is not corrected properly. At this point I was very frustrated because I could not see properly. I ordered my glasses and just picked them up today. What a big difference. I can actually see again. I would highly recommend Soto's Optical Boutique. I will continue to support this business in the future.

In all my 40 years of needing glasses and eye care, I've never walked away ecstatic about my experience...until now. From the moment you walk in, a calm falls over you. Suddenly, everything is as it should be and your breathing slows. You put your phone away and enjoy the silence. Suzanne will calmly take care of your paperwork. Insurance? Great! No insurance? That's great too! Don't miss the art in the fitting room and in the hallway. My personal fave in the examination room, a large colorful hook-rug art piece of an owl. I'm in 1983 again and everything is going to be OK. When your exam is over, Lorenzo will patiently help you determine the perfect frame for your uniquely beautiful face and your budget. Dr. Ron Doctor is the most pleasant, gentle, and patient doctor I've ever encountered. My eye exam was done in only about 25 minutes and was quick and painless. He is very thorough, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about each and every one of his patients. Suzanne keeps the front desk in tip top shape, and had my insurance and paperwork pulled up in the blink of an eye. I came on my lunch break so I was very appreciative that she had everything ready for me. And of course, there's Lorenzo. The most fabulous, friendliest, optician you could ever find. I wouldn't trust anyone else to pick my glasses for me.

THAT is what I received here at Gulf Coast Eye Center. We just moved, and second to my dermatologist for skin cancer screening and MOH surgeries, my eye care is of utmost importance. My family and I have had previous issues as well need corrective lenses and contacts. I need screenings for macular degeneration and central serious retinopathy since the 1990s. My wife through HealthGrades whittled down a long list and I scanned Yelp and Google and these folks bubbled to the top of the stack ranked list. Calling the office my wife and EASILY plowed through the insurance and setting up the first visit hassles with Kac who is awesome. Pam was terrific with the exams and laser light show and vision checks. Dr. Steven Bovio earned and proved why his "grades" are so high on HealthGrades and we went off into my history and details and even had discussions about nutrition and eye health and preventative tactics. FANTASTIC doctor and my previous guy in New York for the last 16 years had set a VERY high bar. Out in the eye center Irka dealt with my frugal (a.k.a. cheap Irish bastard) personality and we found some durable, light, and great fitting (for my full figured melon head) eyeglasses AND some protective sunglasses. A HOME RUN!!!!!!!!!!! I almost can't wait for the 1.5 to 2 weeks to get my new specs.....I am long overdue and see with my change in prescription why so many issues!! The staff at the front was warm and welcoming, the tech that ran me through the pre-testing was friendly and explained procedures. And Dr. Ashley was wonderful. Super friendly, and explained everything she was doing, as well as the results. This is the one thing that I really valued from my former eye doctor, and am so pleased to have found a new doctor that does this. After dilating my eyes and taking images, Dr. Ashley showed me the images and explained everything she was seeing - this is awesome - I really appreciate that level of involvement. Anyway, I'm happy I found them and will recommend to my friends.
