Not happy with experience with this location at all. After MULTIPLE visits to the store and the 3rd set of contacts, we found ones that worked well. Of course when I try to order the new ones that I like, only then do I find out it's several hundred dollars more. I didn't feel heard or understood by the doctor or the staff. Now, I'm stuck with contacts that don't work for the next year. Thanks Visionworks. I will not be back to this location and I do not recommend it. read more

I'm sharing my recent experience at VisionWorks in Newtown Square, PA so other patients know what to expect. This review reflects my personal experience and concerns as a customer. When I scheduled my eye exam, I was told a doctor would be on-site. However, when I arrived, I learned that no doctor was present, and the exam would be done via telehealth because of the holiday. I was not informed of this beforehand. Although the waiver mentioned telehealth, I was not told that AI technology would be used as part of the exam process. When I asked which system was being used, neither the staff nor the remote doctor could identify it. I was only told the technology was outsourced through a third-party IT provider. As someone with a technical background, the lack of clarity was concerning. The findings from this AI-assisted telehealth exam did not match the results from my previous in-person eye exam with a licensed doctor, which made me question whether the virtual setup was able to provide the same level of detail or accuracy as a traditional exam. Additionally: Several components of a standard in-person exam -- including dilation and certain diagnostic checks -- were not performed. The person handling equipment onsite stated he had two weeks of training and was not medically certified. Staff also expressed that doctor availability varies by location and ownership, and couldn't confirm when an on-site doctor would next be available ("possibly next Saturday, but it could change"). I want to note that the employees at the front desk were professional and polite. My concerns are strictly about transparency, consistency, and whether the services provided match what patients believe they are receiving, especially when insurance is involved. Based on my experience, I no longer feel comfortable receiving exams at this location and will be seeking an in-person medical evaluation elsewhere. I believe patients deserve clear communication about whether a doctor is physically present, whether AI is involved, and what type of exam they are actually receiving. read more

My wife walk in and 2 employees was working and another one smoking outside. She was not greeted by anybody. This is a bad reputation for this company. Don't deserve any star rating at all. I have been going to this location for at least 7/8 years and have always been satisfied with their service and choice of great frames. *Today was no exception. After I sat on my fairly new glasses , I took them in to see if they could be repaired ( I seriously thought I would need new frames ) and Vikki said she was sure she could fix them and she did!!! Absolutely outstanding experience. The doctors and technicians are so helpful and patient (it takes me forever to pick out frames!). Kat was especially helpful in picking out frames for me and my two sons . They refer to her as their favorite "glasses lady". We are all excited when we come in and she's there. I especially liked the thorough pre-exam tests that are offered prior to an eye exam. My youngest is diabetic so the extra testing gives me peace of mind that his eyes are in great shape. A shout out to Will Brian at Visionworks in Upland Square, Pottstown, PA. I dropped by Visionworks yesterday and was fortunate to speak with Will. I wanted to get a copy of the recent images of the back of my eyes so I could take them to another vision facility to compare them with images taken in previous years. Will said he would have to speak with a doctor or specialist the following day but that he would get back to me. Went on an Saturday morning and it wasn't busy at all. I did make an appointment online. I was seen at my time. The doctor was extremely nice. This place is a racket if you go in for one of their specials. Was told I had to have an eye exam which was $45. The 500 frames dropped down to about 15 options if I wanted to the amount to be any where close to the $99 dollar advertised amount. 9/21 I was happy to try vision works for the first time sad to say it will be my last. Even though they accept my insurance Im not please with the lens in my glasses. I'm sup to have no line biofocal glasses and I can't seem to adjus. the lens a blurr. I brought them back and let them know I'm not pleased I'm not seeing as clear as I was with my older glasses. The young lady w looked an the glasses and said everything I asked for is there I told her I'm not seeing clear in them she said just try them a few times as see if they change, i them went back and spo to another lady and I get the same nonsense I think I'm going back to they eye institute because they do a much better job in glasses than vision works. Now I have to go spend more money since i already use my insurance for the year read more

"Nobody looks out of the corner of their eye." - Jenna from Visionworks, on my second attempt to pick up glasses after they had screwed up the measurements for the first pair. Not even a "you'll get used to them," like the guy said when I picked up the first (wrong) pair that I had to return. Jenna assured me that people only ever look straight ahead and move their head to see - apparently not their eyes. Even while driving, people don't move just their eyes. This woman sells glasses. She assured me that the problem wasn't with the glasses (I've worn glasses for decades and never has this problem), but rather with the way I've used my eyes for the entirety of my life. If I wanted the glasses fixed, I'd have to see the doctor (who was quite nice) for a THIRD time. Everyone (excepting the doctor) was dismissive and unhelpful.  Maybe you need to use Visionworks for your insurance. Find one somewhere else. read more

Not only are you immediately disrespected the second you walk in, but you also are the one who the frustration of the workers are taken out on. Immediately after walking into the store, with no one else but myself and the worker, the man at the front desk acted as though I committed a crime after taking a single step into the front door. Made a snarky comment about the sign that says "stop" right inside the doorway, so I listened and sat down. Would definitely recommend the Royersford one over this location as the workers are nice and genuine. read more

Unless you only want a yr script dont go. while evryone is nice it takes forever to get an appointment alsways book but always looks empty. They only give you a 1 yr eye glass perscription unless you buy from them, then its for 2 years. I called around and checked several other place offers a 2 year. They wanted to charge $200 for sunglasses at visionworks. I went to Costco for the same glasses $25. Progressive lens scratch guard polarized glare guard. I got a great check up also because i was 2 months over the 1 year prescription date. I now have a 2 year script that i can take anywhere and get glasses if i choose. read more

They are seriously terrible. First visit there was a hipaa violation and patient files were wide open for everyone to see. Great job guys. Then they give me contacts to try, won't just accept that they work wonderfully and order them for me. Are forcing me to try to schedule a visit with the same doctor that I saw the day for my exam... nearly impossible! I have a career of my own and cannot just bend to their inconvenient schedule. I had to cancel and appointment for family reasons and was left a very unpleasant message from a man stating that I absolutely HAD to make an appointment to see that doctor or they refuse to release my contact prescription. Forget that!! Overall really unhappy with the unprofessionalism and they are definitely just in it for the money. read more

Well I've been trying to get an appointment for the past 2 months an apparently they are always book up but when I drive by they don't look that busy which tells me that they are understaffed or the doctor doesn't know what they are doing. I work retail it is hard for me to know two weeks ahead of time when I'm off and I don't want to pull my son out of school. So I guess I will continue my search because I guess vision works is so busy and is making enough money that they don't need my business so I continue my search. Your loss vision works 4 pairs of glasses 2 eye exams and eye dialation. Tsk tsk poor business practice and poor customer service. I f I had my choice I wouldn't of given them any stars. read more
