Staff is extremely helpful and professional. The frame selection was impressive and the prices were very reasonable.

The Optician is really kind and helpful. The other support staff, not so much. They've twice now claimed to have called me regarding updates to my insurance or orders and neither time was a call received. While I don't like to judge those who work in customer service, as I do myself, the attitudes of the receptionists has been off putting to say the least. read more

I found the optometrist to be very unhelpful. Not rude, but just not informative, not invested, not oriented to patient care at all. Didn't explain anything but certainly offered up some big words without explanation or suggestions for followup. Woman up front gave me incorrect information about their two-for-one or half off or whatever that promo was and she was also very, very just unhelpful and rather curt. I am just a regular person and not a thing about me would be off putting. I would not ever return to this business or at least not in this location. read more

Dear Visionworks, My wife and I were so disappointed in the service that she received from your company that we have cancelled her prescription and neither of us will be returning. Please understand that our dissatisfaction was not with the employees or staff at the store but with the corporate office. Allow me to explain. On December 6th , 2023 my wife visited the store and after picking out new frames and ordering new prescription lenses was told that it would take approximately seven to ten days. Well here it is January 9th, 2024 and the glasses still have not arrived. The Visionworks employees told us that the only way that they could check on the status of a customer's order was by email, which displayed us how little consideration Visionworks has for their customers. Needless to say, that after several inquiries and 33 days of waiting, with no answers, the order was cancelled. Again, our disappointment is with Visionworks not their employees. Why Visionworks does not have a corporate line for their employees to find out what is delaying an order for so long or the status of an order is beyond my logic but obviously customer service and concern is not Visionworks priority. We will not be returning to Visionworks nor recommending Visionworks to our family, friends, colleagues or association members. The employees are Great and they get five stars. had an appointment today which I was told that it virtual. got emails saying se you today. never received a link every time I called the recording said it was after hours, don't know how it was after hours at 9:30 in the morning. never got a call or email explaining why the appointment never took place. Horrible, liars to get you into the store and pull a bait and switch to get the most amount of money out of your pocket. Horrible customer care. Horrible boss named Ron who is behind this scam and sham and shame on the company. I called to make sure that they take my insurance for eye exams and glasses or contacts. He said that my exam was covered completely and set up an appointment for the exam. When I arrived I was handed paperwork to fill out and then I was told that my insurance didn't cover the exam and I'd need to pay. Just a day after he told me that I was covered and scheduled an appointment. I decided to go somewhere else and told them that. This "person" big male person - sorry I can not call or write gentleman to describe this heavy person. After I said I was going to go somewhere else which I don't want to name on this review. He went on to tell me that I have horrible insurance and spoke horrible about my plan. He even was going to charge my medical insurance that I use for my yearly physicals and any other medical issues I've had in the past. He's a liar and a scammer. The other eye glass place I went to said everything is covered and coincidentally said I had very good insurance. Completely opposite of what this Ron character (lack of character actually) at vision works expressed to me. Funny thing is I didn't mention that I was just at another eye glass store when the honest and nice person who checked me in told me the complete opposite of what vision works or Ron in particular had told me. A woman at vision works gave Ron dagger eyes and tried to cut him off from talking badly about my insurance and seemed to just accept that I was going elsewhere. I would never recommend this place, vision works of Hyannis to anyone. They told me to come in for my eye exam and then told me that it's done virtually because a doctor/optometrist is not on location except for 2 days a week and if I wanted to see this "doctor" it would be a long wait time. Completely ridiculous and a horrible experience. They should pay for my gas bill for my diving from Orleans to Hyannis for this BS. I'm getting angry as I write this truth about what happened to me and my experience with Ron at vision works. read more

I went there to buy two pairs of glasses. I tried to pay for them but because the store had a computer problem, I was told they would contact me when the system was up again and I could place my order over the phone. After waiting for 24 hours and not having heard from the store, I telephoned. The phone is answered by a robot and you have to go through telephone hell before speaking to a live person. I decided right then and there not to give them my business. My eye sight is too important to give my eye care over to people who can't run their business like professionals. UPDATE: Visionworks customer service responded and I contacted them. Never heard from them or the store again. Definitely do not recommend!! read more

I have purchased 2 pair of glasses over the last 2 years. My regular optometrist tested the lenses and said they were not aligned correctly. I went back to Visionworks to get 2 new pair, the person filling out the order did not include all the elements of the prescription and I had to return (an hour each way). My sunglasses came back and there was a "scratch in the middle of the lens" which they would have to send out again. I requested and received a refund. I've had my regular glasses for about 10 days and have not "Adjusted to the new prescription." I cannot read the highway signs clearly. Don't know whether to give them a third chance to get it correct or request a refund and stop doing business with this company. read more

I am very pleased with service and the recommendations Ronney and Julia gave us. After a very long time walking into store like this, I felt welcomed, and they are willing and happy to help us. Even though we had to pay extra couple hundred for our glasses because of the insurance issues, I would rather go to this place and pay extra than any other place. Be very cautious in use of this particular store. 0 stars is a more accurate assessment. My husband and I went because they accept our insurance. After having my eyes examined technician made error in matching up the progressive lenses with frames so when I returned to pick up the glasses the reading portion was out of alignment - couldn't read. A different tech corrected the settings. I went back (2nd time)to pick up "corrected" glasses and still couldn't see clearly. This 3rd tech I dealt with said my eyes would adjust with use because there was a slight adjustment in the Rx. Wrong!! The doctor gave me the wrong prescription - made an error in the exam. Summary: incompetent clinical service by doctor and techs, but worst, unethical tech who insisted Rx was correct and my eyes would adjust with use - when I told her I didn't know how that would happen if I couldn't see properly she replied that she has 30 years of experience and knew what she was doing. The new manager, Ron, finally figured out the problems. They should be closed down for the terrible quality of care and unqualified staff. So I demanded a total refund. PS - my husband's Rx was correct but lens/frame alignment was incorrect. He also demanded a full refund. read more

A busy day there yesterday so went in today and found three women sitting in the back do nothing. New staff and they did not recognize me as the usual people did before. I told them my frames broke and they told me that I could not use my previous prescription which was working fine. Said they could not make an order without a new prescription that was a week away then it would take two weeks to get the glasses. No pleasantness, no exceptions and I will not do business there in the future. read more

Horrible customer service. Girl in front was gracious and nice told me to pick out a couple glasses. So I did waited for guy to get done. Saw he was so nice to the girl ahead of me. Now my turn you would think I walked up with six eyes in my head. Service was awful asked me what I was doing with 4 glasses. Literally stared at me like a deer in headlights the entire time. Basically there for the 2 for one what a scam over 450 with tax would be 500 how come everywhere else a pair of classes is 250 at most with frame and lens. Do people really fall that bs? Please, please avoid this store- Hyannis, MA. My husband and I went there because they take our insurance. At my annual check up, as I was leaving the fire alarm went off (which they said happens frequently) and I couldn't schedule another appointment or order contacts, as the fire department was there and everyone had to evacuate. So I called the next day and ordered them on the phone. After two weeks I was told that the person taking the call never ordered them! So I was assured that they would be ordered immediately. Today I stopped in to get them and they were the wrong ones! Now I am out of contacts, and they said the "computer" wouldn't let them order the right ones, nor would it let them issue me a refund. The THREE women working couldn't figure it out and said I should come back tomorrow and speak to the manager. Terrible business practices with people not attentive to serving customers. I now have paid $187, don't have a refund, and have no guarantee that I will ever get the correct contacts, please avoid this store! read more

Long time client but very disappointing customer service. Went in this morning, one of two customers in the store with two staff members, one of whom was helping the other customer. After standing for several minutes with no acknowledgement whatsoever of my presence, I politely asked if there was a chance of being seen anytime soon. I was rudely told that they would get to me when they had time. I exited the store and went across the street to LENSCRAFTERS where I was warmly greeted immediately upon entering the store and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Scheduled an appointment online. Received a call back for additional information. Was told my insurance might not cover it and that I had to have a medical reason or I would get billed. Called insurance (Unicare GIC Community Choice) and they told me "that's wrong" and that my plan covered a regular exam every 24 months with ANY opthamologist in the state (MA). Called Visionworks back, they had already canceled my appointment. Rebooked over the phone only to be called back and told I'm still wrong and they would likely bill me for the visit because it is how their policy works. What kind of wacky setup is this? I'll find somewhere else that doesn't have weird policies and run-around. read more

Very disappointed. My insurance allows for a years worth of contac lenses. They gave me 24 disposable for each eye. So I have to wear each lens for over 2 weeks. Never again. read more
