I cannot rave enough about this office! Dr Alan Leavitt is a godsend! I was in this area from out of town having lost all my left contact lenses. Pretty uncomfortable to only have one contact in! My rx is not common so I knew it would be difficult to find it in stock. Dr Leavitt went above and beyond to solve my problem. I cannot thank him enough. He did this out of sheet kindness as I do not even live in this area and would not be a returning patient. So I leave it to all of you to bring home your business! read more

Unbelievable. Unexpectedly Dr. Leavit was able to fit me with CONTACTS. I am soo happy, he was fantastic: professional, comical and comforting. Dr Leavit had a goal to fulfill my desire to return back to using contact lenses, after many years & being told I 'shouldn't wear' or 'can't wear' them any longer. I left with such a positive outlook, knowing I was going to be able to be soo much happier this winter; not having to deal w/glasses (& I do have nice glasses, especially for someone w/my prescription strength) during the winter snow, sleet, wind, and rain! My glasses broke the week before thanksgiving. Still no replacement 6 weeks later. They made an appointment for me to pick them up a week ago and called 10 minutes notice to tell me they weren't ready. I'm on vacation now with just an old pair of glasses. read more

There are not enough words of praise for this office. The true test of a business is how it treats people who are not even customers/patients. I had a contact lens emergency (my ordered lenses were lost and new ones sent but didn't arrive when promised) which necessitated my wearing my trifocals which are only worn at bedtime. Feeling uncomfortable, I tried every resource available (my doctor's office was closed) and ended up calling Bayview. Not only was Trish helpful and solicitous, she offered to see if they had a trial lens in their office matching my prescription...they had one close enough and I will be grateful eternally. Were I not already a long term patient at my optometrist, I would gladly make the switch. This is truly a business serving its community and should be well supported. This entire office delivers a great service and value to the community. Having been on Cape for fifteen years and just found Dr. Leavitt and Bayview two years ago... I will never go anywhere else. Great staff and atmosphere built around taking care of their customers... I felt the products were poor . My vision was never clear and after cleaning my glasses the coating became rippled . Will not be returning . Dr Levitt was pushy and suggested he could do a better exam than where I had just come from . That was not the truth . read more

Came in to get new glasses while on vacation due to leaving them at home. The service here was the bees knees to say the least. Dr. Leavitt quickly pioneered my problem and handled it with courteous expertise, even doing a quick exam to ensure a perfect script. Robin the optician was wonderfully engaging and helped pick the perfect frames. The girls behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. Had to make and wait for an appointment just to try on frames. Started to try on frames and was told I could not take off my mask to try them on. There were very few people there and were at least six feet away. It's not possible to try eyeglasses on with a mask to see how they look. If they would have told me that at the time of making the appointment I would not have had to waste time and gas to go there. Totally ridiculous especially considering mask mandates had been lifted. Very disappointed by the assistance my son received today. He was told mutiple times that the glasses he chose "weren't covered" verus would be reimbursed by VSP. When I called to try to verify and explain how they didn't clearly communicate to him - I was told he misunderstood them. When I asked if perhaps they could reach out to him and clarify, I was swiftly turned down. Disappointing from a local business. I really feel it it was a judgement based on his hair and attire. Home from being away at sea as a marine engineer, he looks a bit scruffy - but they does not speak to his ability to pay. read more

I have been going to Dr. Leavitt for several years and would never consider another optometrist. Having a previous corneal abrasion in one eye, he tirelessly works to get me the best vision possible with both glasses and contacts. I see better because of him. I stopped in this morning to see if I could get my crooked sunglasses fixed. Dr. Levitt said he could fix them before I even finished asking if they did that there. He was very pleasant and friendly. He fixed my sunglasses in less than five minutes for no charge. I don't wear eyeglasses but if I ever need a new pair of shades I'll probably go there because of the prompt and friendly service!! read more

One of the most splendid collections of high quality frames I have ever seen. The staff and opticians are up to date on current trends, friendly and quick to resolve any problems. this credo seems to continue with the optometrist in the office too. I brought my prescription and Dr. Leavitt generously gave me samples that will last me for the next couple of weeks! He even added in some color contacts which I can't wait to try. I ordered my prescription glasses online recently through Warby Parker. They needed to be fitted to my face properly and stopped in to ask if they would be able to do that for me. Of course I expected to pay for the service. I asked the woman at the Bayview counter if they would be able to tighten my glasses and she took them from me and went into the back room. She came out a few moments later and said, "We can't fix these. You didn't buy them here." I responded that I had gotten them online but just needed a quick tightening. She then mumbled something about the "quality of my frames" as though they clearly did not meet her standards of excellence. I asked if I could speak with the doctor and she rudely shot back that "he wasn't in". I then went around the corner and stopped in to Mashpee Vision Care where they fit my glasses perfectly for me. As I rose to leave, I asked what I owed and the doctor actually answered, "Oh, nothing-it's my pleasure!" Now, guess which office I will visit next time? read more

This place is amazing! My husband and I live in Hyannis but we drive to the Mashpee location for one reason...The BEST service we have ever received in a medical office of any kind! Dr. Levitt not only does very thorough exams but also takes the time to find the right fit for your needs. I didn't even know there was so many choices in contact lenses! I also loved the huge selection of frames to choose from. They had the more classic look my husband prefers and something unique and wild for me in a range of prices that can fit any budget. The staff is top notch. They gave honest opinions and did everything they possibly can to make us feel comfortable while we shopped. It should be noted is the above and beyond service I witnessed while waiting for my frames to be tightened. An elderly woman walked in, clearly upset, having just failed her vision test to renew her license. Having never had vision issues she wasn't sure what to do. DR. Levitt saw her right away. Now I don't know about you folks but usually a new patient can wait months to be seen. He made time in his already busy day to ease this woman's concerns when she was clearly distraught. While this office is aesthetically pleasing, and boasts a large selection of frames, with a seemingly knowledgable staff, I am not particularly impressed with the customer service of late. I have had two eye exams here and have purchased eyeglasses and contact lenses on both occasions. At my last contact lens exam, I informed Dr.Leavitt of an issue I have been having where sometimes the lens will incur small tears, and I will have to prematurely discard the lens, and open a new pair, which leaves me short of my 6 month supply. He graciously told me that if this were to occur, to simply give the office a call and request a sample to "hold me over". This was something that had been done for me before, and I was always most appreciative. However, after finding myself in this exact situation, and calling to inquire about the possibility of obtaining a sample pair until my tax refund came in and I could afford to place an order, I was told that the Dr. did not have any samples, but would I "like to place an order now?" No thank you. I know full well his office is stocked full of samples and it would be of no consequence to extend this courtesy, as has been done in the past. I was prepared to order new lenses for my eyeglasses, another 6 month supply of contacts, as well as Rx sunglasses when my refund came in in a few weeks. Now I will be shopping elsewhere. read more

Was in a jam over the past weekend while visiting my parents in Mashpee. Found Bayview through a google search. Saw they were close by in Mashpee Commons. Called them shortly after they had opened. Professional greeting and clearly communicated that they could help. Came in to the store an hour later and the Doctor and staff were great. They were able to help me with my lack of contact lens issue. Great service. Great team. Would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a good optometrist or help with eye glasses. read more

While the quality is good their prices are outrageous . If you just stop in to get your glasses adjusted...unless you're spending tons on money they treat you like they are doing you a favor to adjust your glasses. There are a lot more reasonable places to get your glasses without spending your monthly pension check. read more

Bayview Optometrics has a large selection of designer frames. The store is clean and aesthetically pleasing. They have a very good optometrist who seems very experienced, and a nice office staff. It is one of the better optometry stores on Cape Cod. The problem: You will pay far more, not just compared to any other place on Cape Cod, but compared to any other optometrist in Greater New England! The prices, the surcharges, and the extra costs at Bayview Optometrics, are beyond anything charged anywhere else. I've paid far less for luxury designer frames in Wellesley and downtown Boston! Any time you go in for a quick adjustment, or ask for something to be shipped, they bill you. No one else does this except for this place. After spending more than $1,000 on designer prescription glasses, do you think it's fair to charge the customer shipping charges? Buyer beware, they might know what they are doing, but you will be taken to the cleaners. I'll never go back. read more

Thank you to Bayview Optometrics for excellent service and helping me out of a jam. I was on a vacation and ran out of contact lenses, I called around to a few places and the office staff here was courteous and friendly, which I can't say the same for their competitors. I explained the situation and they said have my Dr fax a prescription and come in and they will help. When I arrived at their office, I was greeted by the same smiles I received on the phone and with patience during a busy day while waiting for the fax to come through. Once it arrived, Dr. Leavitt met with me and handed me some samples along with making sure after I put them in, they were comfortable and there were no issues. I also was not charged for the samples or the "exam" with him. Wow, if they were only closer to home I would go there for my needs.
