Having moved to the area recently, I reached out to this office, as it was located within LensCrafters, a custom I'm familiar with off-Cape. Since it was my primary visit with this practice, they took close a look at my retina and macula with an advanced Nikon mapping device, which avoided the need for eye dilation drops. They now have a history they can refer to during my next visit. The Dr. was patient with the process of optimizing my prescription. Although I haven't received my new glasses yet, I have confidence the prescription will be a welcome fine-tuning for these next few years. I would return to and recommend Dr. McQueen's practice for a very thorough exam and prescription.

Initially I went to him a few years ago because I needed a new glasses prescription and his office was convenient at the time. I continue to visit him because I like the very thorough exam I receive from his friendly technician and him, the up-to-date equipment in his office (no dilated eyes!) including a magic laser exam that shows everything going on in your eyes! His office is located within the Lenscrafters at the euphemistically named "Festival Mall" right on Iyannough Road in Hyannis. You won't see the (strip) Mall from the street, and the office is at the entrance next to the Pier One, so plenty of close parking most days. What keeps me from giving 5-stars is the check in procedure, where the staff person recited my name, phone and full address loudly enough for another waiting patient to sit up and take notice, only to greet me by name when I sat down to wait. I would expect that while HIPPA rules may not apply to an eye exam, simple common sense would, and the staff could minimize the privacy invasion. Otherwise, pretty simple and polite check in and out. Everyone was very nice, friendly and professional. We would highly recommend using this service for your eye exam. There are special offers, and deals on glasses and contacts. The prices for contacts are the best we have found as well. The cost for the eye exam is very reasonable. They give you a copy of your RX for both glasses & contacts, you can purchase them there or where ever you choose to shop. Unlike our last eye doctor. So give them a try! At 11:15, when I had not been called in for a technician, I became concerned and went to the front desk to notify them that I had no communication regarding my appointment. A very kind and concerned OCB employee followed me to question a technician who had not received any information about my appointment and it was surmised that there had been a glitch in the system. I was told I could wait longer or reschedule, but a very sympathetic technician intervened and agreed to prepare me for my exam. Tayla Gimblett went out of her way and added to her already busy schedule to accommodate me. Tayla was professional and kind and she should be commended. At 11:30, 45 mins waiting I went up to the desk and asked about how long will the exam take. I was told an hour. I said ok, when will the doctor be seeing me I have been waiting 45 mins. She said oh he won't be seeing you for another 90 mins because he's running late.... So basically I had an 11:00 A.M. appointment...
