My wife and I had a great experience at this location, purchasing reading glasses and sun glasses, bot of which looked exceptional! The most interesting part of this location is that it doesn't appear to have much of a selection at first glance/upon entrance, but that couldn't be further from the truth. They have an exceptional selection at a variety of price-points. The staff do a great job of maximizing your insurance, work to find you a pair of glasses that look great (without being pushy), and give you a realistic timeframe they actually hit. When I went to pick them up, l received a very BAD service from the attendant. He gave me 2 glass cleaners and 3 glass cases RELUCTANTLY. when l asked for the third glass cleaner , he said 2 was good enough for me, that he does NOT have enough to give out. I came here for both my eye exam and to pick my glasses. The store was busy, but that did not take away from the customer service. I was assisted quickly and easily. The selection here is pretty vast, something for everyone. In fact, I found several pairs that I liked and one of the employees actually stood with me, giving me an honest opinion. He even offered to take a pic so I could see, since I have to get close to the mirror to see LOL. I needed up choosing a pair that I loved and they were ready quicker than what I was quoted - a pleasant surprise. Also, I had fallen asleep with my glasses on and needed an adjustment. I just walked in and got helped. The assistant manager feels like an old friend - very easy to talk to and more than willing to help. When I first got my glasses few months ago, I was a very satisfied customer at this Westchase Visionworks. Right after I picked up my order, I wanted a spare for reading and saw a fancy Guess frame. But it was gone a week later. A saleswoman offered to order it from its catalog and asked a supervisor to help her. I gave them my contact info and expecting a call in 10 days. 2 weeks passed, I went to the store. They had staff shortage - I never got helped and too many people waiting. A week later, I asked about my order and it took 3 people to search from drawer to drawer for that frame. Finally, the lab tech told me that clearance items were limited on hand. He searched on its inventory system and found one at a nearby store. "Nice," I said, "but I only have 30 minute before the store is closed." Highland Village is 18 minutes away without traffic. It was impossible to make it there on a busy Saturday. So, he offered other styles. But nothing interested me. After I talked to a sales person at Highland Village, I looked back at this Visionworks. I visited Visionworks on today, May 21st, only to get a get quote, with the intention to return at a later date. However, when I entered, I was greeted so nicely by 3 employees. I was so shocked I said, "Wow, which one should I go to?" I felt so welcomed. I chose to be helped Brian. He was looking so cool and professional. And he has the most amazing personality that I've ever experienced in Houston. Anywho, after Brian explained the promotions and asked me to take a look at the frames, I forgot that I only came for a quote HAHA. The entire time, he was courteous and professional. I went in today about an hour before they closed and then read their sign that read "appointment only" so I thought they wouldn't be able to help me. When I walked in I was instantly greeted by Giselle she was friendly and said they could help me out. She took my temperature and sanitized the area where we were going to be before starting. She took the time to answer my questions about my insurance since I just changed it and even helped me figure out what I could get without paying so much out of pocket which I really appreciated. My husband and I are extremely pleased with Vision Works. We have been customers for over 4 years. We have found the staff to be knowledgeable especially Lynn Walls and Jamal. They greet us warmly and are committed to making us satisfied customers. My husband's prescription is complex. When we pick the glasses up , we are happy to find the glasses fit perfectly. They always tell us to wear the new glasses for 1-2 weeks and if there are any problems, Visionworks will make it right. We are also pleased with the special offerings Visionworks provides since we do not have insurance to cover the expenses. Dr Sharon is very sweet, but this place is a mess. I visited in December and my contacts were never ordered. It is mid April and I just got contacts. The worst part is that they gave me daily trials and asked me to follow up the next week then said that my trials were the insurance order. I have no contacts for this week and I have no glasses. I usually don't leave reviews for businesses, but I just left feeling triggered. Now, I don't want to sound like those know-it-all, however, I worked in an optometrist office for ~4-5 years while I was in college and I do not appreciate the way I was treated. I came in today because I stepped on my glasses and just needed my lenses to be put back in and readjusted to my face. When I first walked in, the associate "examined" my frames and asked me where I got my glasses from. She basically said that I'm better off with going back to my original doctor because if my frames break, they can replace it, which shows lack of concern and sense of urgency. I told her that my doctor's office is in Pasadena and this is the closest office to my boyfriend's house. Then, she said, "well, if they break, then I'm not responsible." I told her it was fine because, again, I just needed my lenses popped back into my frames and readjusted to my face. She then said, "are you sure? What if they break? What are you going to do then?" ...are you really that unconfident in yourself...? For you to say that made me feel uneasy...especially since my frames cost a pretty penny. When she finally finished adjusting my frames, she cleaned off my lenses...WITH A TISSUE THAT YOU WIPE YOUR NOSE WITH. Although a tissue might be soft enough for your nose/face, they're actually too rough for your lenses and they can actually scratch your lenses. Just like the cost of my frames, my lenses were extremely expensive (due to the type of material and add-ons). Again, I do not want to sound like a know-it-all, but I'm rather disappointed with how I was treated and their work. read more

Do not go to the Memorial city mall location I was in the memorial mall shopping and saw the store.My glasses were slipping down my nose, thought I would get my glasses adjusted. They broke off the left arm, bent them out of shape, curled the ear pieces beyond repair. They had crimped off sections like an octagon. The the lady handed back like nothing was wrong. I have worst experience with the glasses i have ordered at this location. I choose this store, based on the google 5 star rating without seeing yelp 2.5 star rating. I went to the visionworks store and ordered three glasses for 3 different persons in my family. First order is placed with Poly Smart complete with Clear-shield complete UV protection. I have received a message to pickup the glasses from visionworks. When i went to pickup the glasses, glasses are dirty with sticker marks. I have asked, why there is a sticker marks in the new glasses. visionworks team member told me that those are anti-glare marks, i said that i have already have anti-glare lenses there is no marks on that. Then they have cleaned the glasses with cleaning cloth then the sticker marks are gone away. I am not sure how the visionworks lab has sent the glasses without clean and there is no verification of the quality of the glasses before delivering to the customer. Second order, even they didn't send me a message to pickup the glasses until i will call after 10 business days. Third order, placed with high index smart with clear-shield UV protection. Vision works representative told me that Visionworks lab has prepared the glasses without high index after 10 business days. They are trying to prepare the glasses with high index. Now, i have received a message from Visionworks glasses are ready to pickup. After going to pickup the glasses, glasses are still not high index and they look really odd. I have not taken my glasses from visionworks and return to store itself. I have requested to return my money and replace the glasses with high index. They said they need to speak with their manager. I have shown my current glasses which is also high index with the difference of OD or PD 0.5. I am using the glasses from past 5 years not seen such poor quality of eye glasses making at other places. I will surely get better quality of glasses with the money i have spent at Visionworks. read more

Update. So, my glasses were not made correctly. I returned about 10 days after I got them to see about correcting them or ordering a new pair. Was told they would order a new pair. A couple of weeks later I returned to follow up. Was told they were not ordered but a manager would call. Yup, you guessed it-no call. Been out of the country for work. Returned to the store today. I got an appointment today there for my eyes exam. I was so disappointed by how unprofessional the staffs are. They got my number down wrong, they should double check my number before I hung up. I thought that my appointment was all set up, but when I got there, they said there was something wrong with my insurance, and cant do the exam today. Beware! The optician in in the lab is not always there. So same day pick up of your glasses is not always available. Store front personnel are discourteous, unattentive and not helpful. The staff does not work as a team to help others. Glasses are not ready when they claim to be ready. Much wasted time waiting for glasses that were not ready. Very disappointing! I was told my order will be ready within 10 days. After waiting a while and not hearing from them, I called the store, I was kept on hold for a long time, they were telling me that they couldn't find my order, asking me if I am sure I got them from that location, until eventually they told me that my glasses wont be ready for another 10 days. The eye doctor next door has a lot of great reviews and I assumed I would get the same level of service at Visionworks. Wrong. The salesperson fumbled with the device that shows where you pupil lays within a frame. Then sheepishly insisted that my prescription couldn't fit in any of frame options I picked.
