had my annual eye exam here today, and after a slightly rocky start, the overall experience ended on a very high note. This was my first visit to this location, and when I walked in, two employees were deep in conversation about another patient. I fully expected at least a quick acknowledgment when I approached the counter, but nope--they just kept chatting. I waited a moment, assuming they'd wrap it up, but eventually had to clear my throat and say, "Good morning." They responded... then finished their conversation. Not my favorite first impression, but I let it go. Once I was checked in, things moved quickly. I was taken back almost immediately for the initial tests (yes, the dreaded air-puff ), and then I met Dr. Stancea--and that's where this visit really turned around. Dr. Stancea was fantastic. He was genuinely enthusiastic, incredibly thorough, and explained everything he was doing step by step. His excitement about how the eye works was contagious--I found myself completely engaged and actually wanting to learn more. It's rare to leave an appointment feeling informed and energized, but he pulled it off effortlessly. Despite the less-than-warm greeting at the front desk, the quality of care more than made up for it. This turned into a really solid experience overall, and I'll definitely be returning--hopefully with a smoother welcome next time. read more

My boyfriend went in for his first prescription ever and the woman working seemed very annoyed with our presence. Did not make us feel comfortable especially since neither of us had gone through the process before. When it came to insurance, she was confused and unorganized. Wouldn't recommend this location simply because there are so many other places you can go for glasses. read more

I received a text message that my contacts were in so I went to pick them up. The text message said that masks were required to enter so I had to stop at a store to buy a mask. There was also a large sign on the front door stating that mask were required. When entering the store, there were 8 other customers in there and none were wearing a mask. I finally figured out that one of the customers was actually an employee. I was not greeted by her and she was not wearing a mask. When 4 more unmasked customers entered, she finally asked if we were picking up. She went to the back and told another employee that there were more customers. The employee came to the counter wearing her mask under her nose and got my contacts for me. This is not about mask but about poor customer service. Waiting 10-15 minutes without being waited on or at least greeted is unacceptable. I will be ordering from another store from now on. read more

The retail side of this place has a manager named Leah who is extremely rude and has no customer service skills whatsoever, I was appalled at how she conversed with customers as well as how she treated me, the other woman which I didn't get her name was so kind and helpful and if I ever went back for anything it would be because of her, she even apologized for how foul her manager was acting. That manager should not be allowed to manage a landfill, less in a retail setting. read more

Have been coming here since this location opened. Yesterday I went in to have my glasses repaired (screw fell out) and no customers were there (which is a rarity). I asked the first lady I came to, Helena, and she told me "we do not do that here". As I am turning around to leave Elizabeth said "here let me see what I can do." Less than ten minutes later I was walking out with my fixed and fitted glasses. I am giving Elizabeth five stars for being outstanding and the other zero stars. read more

I have used Conroe Visionworks for years, for contacts and glasses. When I got my new prescription on 12/28/19, I asked for daily contacts instead of monthly. The wrong contacts have been ordered twice now. Normally they call when my glasses/contacts have came in. However, not this time. I called today and they said they were in. I picked them up, left and realized that these were still not what I ordered. So I went back by the store and told them these were the monthly ones. My prescription was for daily ones, what I paid for. Now they are reordering them again on Tuesday. I doubt I'm ever going to get my correct contacts. read more

I had been purchasing my prescription eyeware from Visionworks for the last 20 years with never a problem. I liked the stores because of the plentiful collection of frames to choose from. In September 2015 I purchased 2 pairs, one a black wire frame and a brown plastic frame that I especially liked. Both pairs ordered with the HD single vision lenses and full everything you can get - scratch and glare resistance. In May 2016, I decided I liked the brown frames so much that I wanted to order the same frame with sunglass lenses. At the time, I ordered another pair of clear lenses in a black frame. When I returned to pick up the sunglasses, I noted to the clerk that a spot had been slowly forming on the right lens of the brown frame glasses and no amount of cleaning would remove it. Both inside and outside surfaces of the lens were very smooth, it looked to be forming inside the lens. Well, the clerk insisted I must have gotten something caustic on the lens causing the spot. This didn't make sense to me since the spot had grown in size over the past several months. I felt it was a flaw in the lens. I loved these frames so much I went ahead and ordered and paid for a replacement right lens when there was no offer to replace it at their cost - and it had been about 8 months. When the right lens came in, I took the frames in. After repair, I put the glasses on and immediately could not see out of the right lens. The clerk took them from me and after examination decided the wrong lens had been ordered. I had to wait another week for the right lens to come in. Once in, I picked them up and everything initially felt right. After wearing the glasses for about 15 minutes, I noted that I felt right eye strain. When I took them off and traded them for the other pair of glasses purchased at the same time (same prescription and lens type), it took about 60 seconds for my eyesight to clear again. I felt a shifting in my right eye when I put them on and took them off. I noted over a few days that when I traded them for the sunglasses - same frame and prescription lens - I would have blurring in my right eye for about 60 seconds as my eye adjusted. I noted this same effect when I would take the eyeglasses off to read. After 4 visits back to the store and multiple checks of the lens with no improvement, they finally agreed to order another right lens at their cost. When the lens came in they put it in and again, as before, the lens felt okay for a few minutes. I told the store manager that if that did not correct the problem that I would not be back. Once I left the store, I noted again difficulty seeing out of the right eye when I removed the lenses. After a few days, I went to an independent eyeglass store in my area. The optometrist overheard me telling my story to the clerk. He came over and took the eyeglasses. He immediately popped both the right and left out of the frames. He looked at them carefully and then let them both drop gently onto the counter. Even I could immediately see and hear that the lenses were not the same material. The replaced lens was not the HD high quality lens I had paid for but was a plastic lens. It did not have the coating the other lens had. The doctor was very informative and helpful. He quoted me a good price on replacement lenses. He told me he never replaced only one lens but both at the same time. I ordered replacement right and left lenses of high quality. When they came in, they were put in right away. I took them home and have had them 2 weeks now and they are perfect again. I ended up spending approximately $860 on this one pair of glasses - $400 initial, $160 for a single replacement lens, and $300 to replace both lenses. I am very disappointed the the Visionworks staff would send me off with a lens inferior to the one I'd ordered. I will NEVER again step foot in a Visionworks store because of this. read more
