I was able to see Dr Adeel Sheikh on very short notice due to an eye bleed. He and his superb staff worked me in to his schedule to attend to an examination that revealed a small problem requiring no further treatment. His explanation of my issue made me feel greatly relieved so we could continue planned travel. The office is well coordinated. The staff is efficient and professional. I had minimal wait time. I highly recommend Dr. Sheikh and this practice. read more

Called and got an answer right away. Very friendly lady made an appointment for me and 2 kids within a week. Received email to print and fill out paperwork prior to visit. Staff at appt were friendly and helpful. They were thorough and we absolutely loved the doctor. She had a very sunny disposition and put us at ease. read more

I just returned home after the most thorough eye exam I have ever had. Missy , the lady who did all the measuring etc., was extremely pleasant and gave me more info to my vision questions that I have ever received anywhere else I have ever gone. Dr. Verstringhe is also very informative and pleasant but Missy is the one I spent more time with. Kudos to Missy and HEA for having her on their staff. From my cataract surgery in July and August, I have been very pleased with my treatment by this team. read more

Horrible staff and scheduling staff. Very rude and could care less about the care of anyone. They have a take it or leave it attitude. Do not recommend. This was once a good place that I felt like I mattered but things have defiantly changed and not for the better. read more

Extremely disappointed with the level of professionalism and thoroughness of the staff. I sat in the dilation waiting room with another patient while uncomfortably listening to a loud exchange two ophthalmic assistants were having around the corner about a discrepancy in the nature of a patient's visit. The particulars of their conversation were enough that I could CLEARLY identify myself as the patient in question. And to compound the faux pas, when I poked my head around the corner to say I could hear every. word. they. were. saying. they looked at me and said something that pretty much boiled down to because my name was never mentioned there was no privacy violation... not that that's what I was getting at or predominantly concerned with. But by then, I did feel violated. To make matters worse, the ophthamologist was standing RIGHT THERE. At least the MD suggested sticking me in an exam room, probably so I couldn't make a scene, where a different assistant haphazardly reviewed my eye/medical health and took my chief complaint while waxing poetic about how terrible her day was going because apparently Houston Eye Associates only stores patient records on THREE whole servers for all of their 48 offices and the day's bad weather had caused a technical glitch. She made a big, big deal out of how difficult and horrible it was to have to deal with the malfunction of the eletronic charting/patient management software she was using and P.S. but I would be unable to take certain diagnostic testing I was expecting to take because of that and so on and so forth... Which I see as a huge lapse and ultimately made my visit a waste of time. That's something extremely important to mention at the start of the visit or while signing in. "Just so you are aware, there is a technical glitch and not all services we typically offer that you may be here for are available today, including XYZ. Is that okay, or would you like to reschedule for another day?" I mean, no one wants to fork over cash for an extra visit because medically necessary diagnostic testing couldn't be performed on the same day. Especially when those services are part of the exam you came in expecting to have. I will say the MD was decent. Addressed my concerns, was efficient. Staff could use some training in common sense and human decency. A lot of my dissatisfaction with the visit could have been eliminated by a small amount of communication. (1) There's a glitch in our electronic systems, not all services are available today. (2) Can we clarify the reason for your visit so you receive medically appropriate service today. It will be a very, very cold day before I go back. read more

In person, the receptionist is very pleasant and helpful. The technician seemed competent, efficient, caring, and friendly. The doctor had a good professional manner, and I felt comfortable with his comments and diagnosis. However, getting hold of someone at this practice is next to impossible. You have to press several buttons and then listen to a recorded message. Moreover, no one answers the phone, after you work your way through the tangle, during their hour and a half lunch break -- how about the courtesy of an upfront message that says at the beginning, "hey, patient, who cares about your concerns, we're too busy eating lunch." read more

The technician was very nice on 11/18/19 when I placed an order for glasses. On 11/19/19, I called and spoke directly with her to cancel my order as I wanted to talk to my doctor (not at this practice) again. Teresa V. assured me the eye-glass order was cancelled and it should take 7-10 business days to receive credit to my credit card. On 2/4/20, I spoke to Teresa due to no credit received. During the holiday rush this slipped my mind. I again spoke with Teresa on 2/7 and 2/10 when she advised she was sending it over for credit and it should take 5 business days. On 3/24 there is no credit on my VISA billing statement. A message was left with the office again. It appears the ball is dropped in their main office or whomever processes credits. Unfortunately this system forced me to give this company 1-star rating. Very disappointed. read more

I have gone to one of the ophthalmologists for years (whom I think a lot of); however, he does not do the measurements of my vision--the assistants do. I have repeatedly over the years tried getting glasses following these appointments at various places, and the vision centers have had to keep re-making them because I could not see with the glasses. After several frustrating years of these same issues (and a lot of expense on the vision centers part), I tried a friend's optometrist that she recommended (who does the measuring himself and says that there is an art to it) and he nails it every time--no problem when I get the glasses filled. I will never go to Houston Eye Associates again for a vision check/new glasses. read more

This is an additional review to my previously posted 11/30/20 review. I am still having the same issues with this outfits billing dept. They continue to send me erroneous bills of which continue to erroneously indicate what I paid them. Each month I have called to discuss with their billing dept to no avail. I have even walked through each individual charge to detail with the person on the phone in their billing dept how each charge and what I actually paid differ. Todays bill was a different format and printed in such light ink I can barely make it out. That's super when you have WMD and are already vision challenged. On the previous review some business manager was to call to get things straightened out. She called while I was at the grocery styyore and I asked if she could call back later and she said she would. Never heard back from her and no missed calls. The good thing about cell phones is no one can say "I called you but you didn't answer" I guess my next step is to report to the BBB and maybe "Turn To Ted" with channel 13 or perhaps another media out let with consumer problem solver. As a senior citizen with vision issues I think this is deplorable. This is the 3rd time I have called this outfit since my previous review on 11/30/20. Its always the same result. What I find funny is when I have my injection they say your charge is this and they never ask about any past due amounts. A serious disconnect at within. read more
