This place is a scam. The price of the exam doesn't include a contact fitting, whatever that even is. The doctor didn't listen, had me try new contacts and made me come back to look at them. They didn't work but I still couldn't get a prescription until they saw me with lenses I've been using, which they would have needed to order. Complete waste of time and money, I'm returning to my old doctor where I used to live. Avoid this place. read more

The place is on a busy corner of broad st and bloomfield so it is easy to miss. I called multiple times to make an appointment and no one answered so I went somewhere else to get an eye exam and showed up with my prescription. Walked in and no one really greeted me. Walked up to the front desk and asked for petite frames. They told me they didn't have any and directed me to a brand to start with as they ran smaller. She was right. As I start browsing I notice that there are certain frames marked as petite. Not a lot but there were some. So the sales associate either didn't know or didn't really want to direct me. As I'm trying in the glasses the phone is ringing and everyone just flat out ignores the phone despite being in the front desk. No one checked on me to see how I was doing. Once I picked glasses out I just sat down to pay. The lady who checked me out was very nice. Looked up all my benefits and my insurance basically covered everything. I ended up paying out of pocket bc I wanted a second pair of glasses which I got for half of retail. Now just waiting to get them in. The experience is different than going to other places. You basically are on your own. They had a decent selection but no high end brands. read more

Worst experience ever. They let everyone go before me even though I came before and had an appointment for 4pm because I had an eye infection. I didnt get called until 5:30 pm and then I didn't even get seen by the doctor because they didn't take my insurance which they didn't tell me from the beginning !! This place is usually always crowded and when it isn't, you still have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to see the doctor. My first visit I waited about half hour even with an appointment, and saw Dr. Patel (woman). She was lovely as pie. My second scheduled visit was not so pleasant, I waited two hours to see the eye doctor! It was another lady who didn't even introduce herself and sent me on my way out, even when I told her my contacts were really bothering me. She told me that's the way they should feel. I've been wearing contacts for 20 years, I know what they should feel like! Finally I decided not to press the issue, I was tired from waiting all that time and wanted out. The staff here needs additional training the worse experience ever! Saw Dr.Nickels my very first visit and she gave me the wrong prescription for both eyes!! Doesn't have a clue about what she is doing! Went back was seen by Dr.Patel she was very sweet and ended up giving me the correct prescription. I ended up canceling my whole order contacts and glasses because of the lack of professionalism there. They get ZERO STARS and I will never step foot back in that ghetto establishment. read more

Had a horrible experience here. The staff was nice enough but were incompetent and not able to help. I ordered 2x pairs of glasses on a buy one get one half off special that they were running. I was told the amount to pay and so I did. When I came to retrieve my glasses, I was told that not only was I not given the advertised deal that I was promised but that only one pair of glasses had been ordered. Then I was told that it could take up to 2 weeks to fix this and that it could mess up my insurance. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO VISIONWORKS ANYWHERE due to this and their inability to correct their own mistakes. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!! They make it almost impossible for you to get things done. They say they do price match but when I went in, they say they needed a print out of the checkout basket from the price. I told them I didn't have a printer and I asked if I could screen shot the basket and email it to them so they could print it out? They responded, "we don't have a email". I said that's ridiculous. I came back the next day with the print out and had my husbands care credit card with me, and after everything is ready to go..they can't use it because my husband isn't here with me to sign it even though they have his info along with his license in my file. Very busy place. They need another eye doctor instead of just having one and making you wait so long. The eye doctor was pleasant. The desk staff was professional but not very friendly. Not even a hello or a smile. All they ask is what's your name and have a seat. Not a warm welcome at all. Please whoever the manager is you need to have your front staff be a little friendlier. Terrible experience, had eye exam,picked up glasses the first time instead of one distance, one reading they gave me two distant glasses. ordered reading glasses and they did not have transition lenses as I had paid for had to wait again and found out that the prescription was wrong. so in total it will be (5) visits to get my glasses. This was my first visit. I came in for a eye exam and new pair of glasses my appointment was for 1 pm I didn't get seen by anyone until about 1:45. Then I was sent back out to wait some more for the doctor. I didn't end up leaving until about 3pm. The staff was nice and everything but the wait time was pretty ridiculous considering I had an appt and I was on time. Horrible customer service. In addition, your website clearly states that your store is currently CLOSED today, which is not the case as I have spoken to two different employees today. Each time I have called I was told that they would have to call me back. Also, each time I have called all the lines were busy, and there was no space left to leave a recording. I cannot say enough great things about this office. I had an immediate concern about a medical issue concerning my eye--this office immediately saw me. In addition, the doctors worked with my schedule to see me for follow ups to ensure the issue was resolving. The opticians also fixed my eyeglasses so I could be comfortable as I was suddenly unable to wear my contact lenses. The staff has an attitude problem. No customer service skills. Dr. Patel makes you go into her office 3 and 4 times just for a contact script. A way to charge your insurance so she could collect more money! I have never had so visit with an eye doctor so many times. It was suppose to be a simple check with a script for glasses and contacts. Place is very clean and organized, staff is very friendly and honest - they won't try and sell you the most expensive frame but rather recommend what will suit you best (budget wise). Terrible service, work ethic, and no respect given. Each visit was a new and unnecessarily difficult problem. I decided to reorder from 1800 contacts because of their unhelpful past experiences. They made obtaining the prescription difficult and would not give "my" prescription to myself or 1800 contacts. Avoid this place at all costs, with so many more convenient eye doctors out there!!!! Are zero stars possible? These people continue to aggravate me every time I go in for an appointment. If you go, don't be surprised to see employees sitting there doing nothing. Don't be surprised to go in two hours after your appointment. I went once and it was very backed up. I went up to talk to the person at the desk, the only one actually working, while the others talked. She helped me somewhat until her "co-worker" came up and asked her what kind of muffins she wanted. Muffins!! She was ordering muffins while twenty people were waiting for their appointments.
