I made an appointment because I lost my glasses. Fortunately, it was 2019 and I could use my insurance and get another eye exam with Davis vision. I've been coming to this office since 2015. I would say the 2019 visit was the best! My last visit was October 2018 (just a few months ago.) Sheeba Mohanan was the doctor who did my eye exam and was great. I told her my issues and struggle with reading texts, menus at night and working on the computer. She did a comprehensive exam and advised me my prescription has changed. I really like her!!! Beatriz was my eye wear consultant and was very attentive and helped me find glasses. I told her I wanted the Ray Bans I had lost and she was able to find them and order them for me. I wasn't going to buy another pair but she helped me find some cute Guess ( I wanted black and silver ) and I bought them. She was very patient with me. The glasses were back within a week (7 days ) and I picked them up today . So grateful. I can see again ! read more

Why is everything so darn difficult. I brought in a pair of sunglasses with a new scrip. Go to pick them up and can't seem out of them. They keep saying over and over it's the right scrip. I say well it's not since I can't see out of them. Then they do some magic recovering of measurements after saying it was all correct and are sending them out again. Wow! Vision Works in Bailey's crossroads has some amazing customer service! They guys working there were super nice and very knowledgeable. They discussed all the insurance options and different ways to save money. The man who was working the front desk was juggling 4 customers at the same time and yet made them all feel like they were getting great service about totally different things. They were polite and calm, even when a woman came in with a prickly attitude, they were able to change her day fast. Not by giving her grief but with kindness and a gentle approach. I rarely write reviews, but I was extremely impressed with these guys and apparently the doctor was spot on too and did a great job! That's according to my wife who usually feels like doctors don't listen or take enough time to explain things and help her understand but she loved this place. I called in Dec to make an appointment for eye exam. The guy told me they were almost fully booked because there were so many people like me who used insurance in the last minute! I knew it was a fact but he said that brutally in my face. What's wrong with this employee! After I got off the phone, I tried to make an online appointment without bothering the staff there. I noticed that they had a lot of open slots in the next couple days. HE IS SO HORRIBlE! He must hate his job so much! In the last couple days, I kept getting emails begging me to reschedule with them. They still think I would return to Visionworks or to this particular location? Even if I had to pay 100 times elsewhere, I would Not return!!! If the staffs want to take the holidays off, just shut down the store for the holidays. Don't lie to your boss that the store is open, but it is actually unavailable to the customers who are your boss' boss. Please don't reply with a generic reply telling me to provide more details to act like you are trying to improve. If you listened to feedbacks, u wouldn't get so many negatives ones repeatedly. You should pay to hire consultants to make this garbage store less garbage for patient cruelty to improve the world as a previous customer put it. This location I cannot say enough good things about they gave me great service and the people where so friendly. I had a pair of very nice sunglasses that I cracked a lens in and I need to have the broken lenses removed and new lens installed. When I called to see if it was a service they provided the young lady who answered the phone was so friendly and very pleasant to chat with explained that it was something they could do and just come in and they would take care of it for me at no cost. Needless to say I drove straight over and sure enough one of the employees took care of my sun glasses and they didn't change me at all. I came to this location for my annual eye exam. The eye doctor was great; the staff was pretty disorganized but not enough to make me doubt I would keep coming back to this location. I settled my bill, paid my insurance co-pay, and left. Later that day, I got a call from the office manager saying the doctor had left a sample contact lens for me and asking me to come get it at my convenience. When I got there a few days later, I was surprised to be presented with a second claim to my insurance for a service they claimed not to have billed. He also would not show me my original receipt, so I have no idea what was true. At best, this is poor and deceptive customer service to make up for a poorly managed practice. I am more concerned though, that this was a fraudulent insurance claim that they were trying to dupe me into facilitating, so I won't be returning to the doctor unless there is staff turnover. read more

I liked this location in person, as it was clean, the exam was thorough, and the doctor was great. I did have to wait 15 minutes past my appointment time to go back but whatever. I've since tried calling to re-order contacts and waited over 30 minutes on hold. Come on, guys. Even airline customer service is faster these days. When the receptionist finally got to me (and didn't offer any apologies for the long wait time), we spoke, she looked up my records, and said she'd be right back in a second. This was a bit of a good and bad. The doctor was very informative and professional. A lot was explained and I was left with no questions. Probably one of the best experiences I've had when trying to get tested and purchase new glasses. There's plenty of parking and there's an ABC next door in case you get frustrated and need to buy alcohol by the time you leave. The staff was a bit frustrating (I know I can be a tad impatient), however. The gentleman who helped me was not familiar with the system, it appeared, so it took a particularly long time to input my purchases - even when he eventually received help from another person. They have a nice selection of glasses and I wound up purchasing 2 rather than the 1 I needed. It does it's job but anticipate a bit of a hitch with the end process. read more

Started out calling and making an appointment for daughter who just needed glasses as she had a prescription. We show up and are met at the door. Guy at door speaks no English and then is wearing a mask so you really could not understand us. But what we made out was that my daughter would have to come in by herself. So we waited in the car. She was in the store looking at frames for about 20 mins. Not a single person came to check on her it to help her. She got frustrated and left. The staff working at the front of the store were great and very professional. The doctor on the other hand didn't seem to know how to properly talk to customers. I've been wearing contacts since I was in middle school, though admittedly I stopped in college because it was expensive and I'm lazy. I went here because I was getting married and would finally need contacts again. That, and it's where my vision insurance was taken. It had been so long since I'd worn contacts, I'd developed astigmatism and hadn't realized it. The way the doctor informed me of this gave me the impression that he thought I was a moron for not knowing this. What really set me off was when I went into the back area for lens fitting. Another customer was there with her daughter trying on contacts and her daughter's stuffed doll was resting on the chair I'd theoretically be using. It's not a big deal to me, and the woman asked her daughter to move the doll so I'd have a seat, but the doctor interjects and says "no it's fine. She can stand." ...I'm non-confrontational, so I probably WOULD'VE stood anyway to avoid asking them to move over, but I couldn't believe he'd spoken for me. I felt like a second-rate customer rather than equals with the other lady and her child. It didn't feel like he appreciated my business. So I went and found a different VisonWorks. read more

The customer service at this Visionworks has gotten progressively worse. Both times I've been there I've had a bad experience. The doctors are rude and always in a hurry to leave. I don't know why I keep going back to these guys; compared to other glasses stores I've been to, I'm regularly bothered by their consistently sub par customer services and staff that doesn't seem too knowledgable. Today I went in and asked about 3 people about a certain brand they used to sell that I got there (Calvin Klein), and asked why they didn't carry it anymore and if they could do any repairs of the pair I bought from a different branch. I felt I was just brushed off and avoided for some reason. No one even asked if wanted another pair or suggested another brand after I hinted I had a particular interest in something stylistically similar to what I already had. I'm left still not certain how serious damage is to the pair I had. I was wondering if one side was wobbly because it needed readjustment or a loose screw. All I got was "nah, the company just don't carry Calvin Klein no more" and they handed me a card and said call this number and see if they can fix it. I was almost certain they could have simply used a glass repair or adjustment kit/tool and tightened a screw or make a slight tweak right then and there; they do a lot of that sort of thing after your initial purchase, make sure it fits properly before you leave the store. The first person seemed either new or not as knowledgeable, or just not interested in helping with my simple inquiry. I noticed the second person I spoke to approached one person but brushed me off and seemed more interested in walking away than letting me inquire. The third person just wanted me to call someone else to ask about my glasses and handed me a card. I left feeling regret for shopping there in the past and attempting to again. I'm almost certain I could have gone somewhere else and left without crooked glasses and either buying or interested in a new pair. They could use some improvement, or to at least to not be so selective with who they think is important and in need of good service. Update: I just went to CVS and got a glasses repair/maintenance kit kit and fixed the glasses myself. Much better than calling the other company they referred me to driving and driving to most likely less convenient location to maybe have them charge me $30 or more to tighten a lose screw. If they didn't want to screw it for me, they could have just told me that's all it needed, as they should be more familiar with common problems and the anatomy of the glasses they sell/sold than I would be. read more

Classic case of a truly excellent doctor (Dr. Ahmadi) and terrible staff/customer service. Dr. Ahmadi is easily the best eye doc I've had, always a good experience, personable, knowledgeable and gets you in and out quickly without making you feel rushed. Ordering contacts, on the other hand, takes an act of Congress and unfortunately Congress never seems to be in session. I've legitimately had to call 7 times now to order 6 months work of contacts, and STILL HAVE NOT YET PLACED AN ORDER. Most of the calls consist of repeating simple information several times, inexplicably being placed on hold for 15+ minutes, some undue amount of confirmations with the doctor, etc. Other calls just ring off the hook to the answering machine (several times on different days, well within their working hours). The best part is the office intermittently cold calls you to say "hey our records indicate you need to reorder contacts, give us a call and let us help you." Problem is, it's nearly impossible to take them up on the offer. I'm just going to take my contact ordering elsewhere, but will likely continue to go see Dr. Ahmadi. read more

Decided to come here since : 1. This is the first place that popped up on my insurance coverage 2. Had decent reviews on Yelp Called on Thursday to make an appointment and was helped by Justin. He helped me double check to ensure it was in network with my insurance and to check prices for contacts and such. He booked a back to back appointment for my husband and I. Doors opened exactly at 9AM on Saturday and Justin provided us with the paperwork needed. Justin remembered our conversation over the phone in regards to prices and broke it down for me real quick which I rely appreciated. I forgot about it, luckily he remembered. After about 7 minutes, Justin took us back for some tests before seeing the doctor. Once we saw the doctor, the exam was very quick. I did the annual exam and contact exam. Husband did the annual exam. The entire exam probably took 10 minutes for both my husband and I. I had a few concerning questions and the doctor answered them thoroughly which I appreciated. After we were helped by both Jennifer and Justin in regards to our frames and lens. Jennifer helped break down the most economical way to get both my frames and contacts which I really appreciated. Frames were done in an hour for both my husbands and mine and contacts will be in for pick up in 10 days. Will come back next year! read more

I needed a quick eye exam because my glasses had just broken, and not ONLY did they not try to upsell me / urge me to purchase more than I needed, but the doctor noticed my prescription was 11 months old so he told me that my old prescription was still valid and I could just skip the eye exam and save some money. I walked out of here even before I saw the eye doctor because the staff seemed very unprofessional. Three or four employees were just hanging around when it was not busy, not offering help or otherwise working from what I could tell, and I could overhear them in conversation making rude comments about customers. It is very quick for people to call/write to complain but when they have the same opportunity to write good words there seems to never have time for that. So I would like to take time and say that our visit to visionworks at baileys crossroads in falls church va. And let me tell you, from just walking through the door to walking out with two complete pairs of glasses for my son and my husband getting contacts and glasses it's the most agreeable experience ive EVER had at an eye doctor! And I've been wearing glasses/contacts since I was 5 and I'm 35:). The young lady that took care of us was Jennifer. Our eye doctor was just so awesome! It was my sons first visit ever and he wasn't apprehensive he made him feel very comfortable and he told me when he got in the car, "momma, I was scared when you told me I had to go to the eye doctor, but now I see it was silly! I would stay far away from this location due to their practices. I recently got prescription sun glasses and had new lenses put in my old set of frames. Before doing this I asked if it was possible to put new lenses in the older frames and they informed me that as long as the frames did not break during the replacing of the lenses there would be no issue. Within several months the right stem of the glasses fell out and then several months of that, the left stem fell out. They fell out as in the stem just fell off, not the screw coming loose. I visited them and asked them to repair the glasses and they tried to refer me to an eye glass repair shop. The manager told me the glasses were "old" and that they did not recommend putting new lenses into old frames (which I was not informed of before they did the work on the glasses). If they do not recommend putting new lenses into old frames, why do they accept money todo it, do subpar work which causes your glasses to fall apart, then deny any kind of accountability afterwards? In addition to this, the brand new prescription sunglasses already have a lens that is starting to come loose. Avoid at all costs if you don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for broken glasses. read more

Very engaging in hearing about my history (as was a first-time patient) and answered all my questions and addressed my concerns thoughtfully. I didn't feel rushed at any point but the wait time was minimal--especially considering it was a Saturday afternoon and I was a walk-in. The staff are friendly and nice but.....When I called to verify that they accepted my insurance, they told me yes. What they failed to mention was that they are an out of network provider. I figured it out AFTER I already paid for the services and contact lenses. I kept questioning the staff member why I was paying so much (because in my head I thought I knew the amount my insurance would cover), but even with me questioning she never mentioned that it was because they were an out of network provider so my benefits were less. Also, they charged me for a contact lens fitting, for trying new contacts that I didn't even want to try in the first place. I have been happy with my contacts for several years, and didn't need to change or try new ones! Sure enough, I hated the new ones and ended up buying my old ones again. SO frustrating. read more

This location is EVERYTHING!!! I recently went in to check out the 2 for $59 deal. I had previously been to Pentagon City (also another 5 star location), but this location is more convenient to home. I was greeted by Jennifer who explained the deal and which selections were involved. Nemo helped me with the hardest part, picking just two from the several options I had. Nemo brought over other options I hadn't even thought of and one of my final two was one of her picks! I left feeling so grateful for both of their assistance, patience, and kindness (especially dealing with me when I was in there just prior to closing time)!!!! :) Yesterday I went to pick up my two new glasses and was greeted by Nemo, I was excited to see her and have her assistance again! I went here after my last pair of contacts started fogging up, and I was unable to order more because my last contact lens exam expired. I searched the area for contact lens places, and settled on a different place, with great reviews. But that place told me they didn't accept my vision insurance (first time using vision insurance), so I called the vision insurance company and they told me the closest place to my work was Visionworks. Read the reviews, and had a bad feeling about this place, but besides blinding me, I didn't care because I needed an eye exam asap with fresh samples to carry me over. Walked in, and was immediately greeted by a very helpful and friendly staff. But this was mentioned in all the reviews. They helped me out, and when I told them about time constraints, they accommodated me by hurrying the process. Then came time to have my eye exam. The optometrist was extremely knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. The last place I went to was Costco, and the guy was alright, but not as thorough as this optometrist. Although I had some time constraints, I decided to push my errand back because the optometrist wanted to get my vision to be right on. So he set me up with 3 different contact fittings to get the correct prescription, doing separate tests for each, finally getting the right prescription. I was very impressed with how thorough the exam was, and the employees were very helpful as well. I don't usually give out 5 stars, but this was above and beyond any vision exam I've ever experienced. I will happily be going here from now on for my eye exams. read more

She is professional, knowledgeable, patient and kind. She did what she can to get me the best price through insurance and store specials. Selena the manager at the time also followed up with looking up the best prices for me. I had gone to another eyewear store and they actually came a little lower than Visionworks, but I loved the customer service and genuine approach at this store. Selena worked it out so that she could come close to price matching. Yousef was here behind the desk and was kind and helpful when I came in for follow up on cleaning and tightening my glasses.
