I am very novice at…read morecomputers but had been referred by a friend and thought I could trust them with advice and good used computers for my new business. NOT TRUE. Once I purchased the computers I hired an IT guy to configure them with the printer in the office etc. The IT guy said do you realize you paid more than brand new monitors cost and that the computers are at the end of their lifecycle. They were years older than I was told. I was also told they were getting all the computers ready and serviced. When my IT guy opened the covers, he found they had been well used by a large organization and were very old and could not be upgraded to the newest operating system Windows 11. Furthermore, each computer was full of hair, fuzz and dirt and some of the fans didn't work. I complained and Open Box Macleod allowed me to trade the monitors for a credit. One thing I used the credit for was to buy an expensive coffee grinder. The grinder did not work so I took it back to Open Box Macleod. They said they could only send it in for repair. Months went by and still no coffee grinder. I went to the store many times in person and they shrugged me off and would not refund me and refused to help. I spent about $4000 and if I had the time, I would stand in front of their horrible, dishonest, disreputable Open Box Macleod location and tell them all my story. Worst Place to buy anything. They cannot be trusted. I am literally ashamed I fell for this discount store.... it is far worse than buying from a new supplier.

They always try to oversell on accessories for the new phone you were forced to buy that you did not need or want. Then, the plans, where does it end? It's an evil necessity; nothing like the experience I've had with Virgin Mobile, T-mobile, 3, Comviq in Europe which are more pay-as-you-go friendly (with great flexible, inexpensive plans). That in mind, I recently visited the Chinook Centre location of Virgin Mobile (which runs on the Bell GSM Network in Canada as opposed to the Sprint CDMA Network in the US) to inquire about a plan for my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition SM-P605 Phablet. As it is, I use ROGERS voice/data, etc. for my Note 3 SM-N9005 since it's a corporate account but I was looking to have another account with a non-ROGERS provider to allow maximum coverage when I travel throughout Canada. The representative recommended just using a data plan to augment the corporate account since I can still use Skype or other voip apps on my devices. He was very thorough in explaining the month-to-month plan and it's tiered cost. The process took less than 10 minutes. Within 10 minutes of that, I had service on my phablet. It's almost like Virgin Mobile think it's not in North America or something. The experience is similar to what I receive in Europe. I'm not sure if we are allowed to mention specific people but the male representative whose name starts with an M is very knowledge and friendly. Is that TMI? OMG, LOL. This has been happening for the two years I've been with wind and sometimes it's been horrible. Don't get this for your kids if you down want them to die somewhere in the cold because they can't call you when they need their cell service to work. When I picked one out, she showed me the outside of the box & said, "see, is good yes?" ..i guess we'll find out when i open it... When we got the phone home & opened the box, the phones screen was physically broken. We took it back & she immediately accused me of breaking it & said she wouldn't take it back. she said, it's on camera, i showed you the box, you paid for it we can' take it back. Could i have opened the box before paying for it? no... so how could i have known i had just bought a broken defective piece of garbage. who knows. I was back in the store within an hour of buying it & she told me to go through the phone protection plan, for a new phone, that I had just bought.. ruining my warranty for future needs. I should add freedom plans are spotty & they'll basically just tell you 'well... it isn't supposed to be' & offer no further assistance. literal nightmare. the phone didn't bare any physical damage to the outer shell. just the screen. it was CLEARLY damaged during shipping & receiving or something. How can you argue 'it's on camera, i showed you the box' when the contents of the box were garbage. Insane. I will continue fighting this company until they make this right.
