Great service. Fixed one TV in the past this time warranty had run out and they gave us good advice on buying our new TV.

1. I am having problems with my Canon MF4450 printer so I called this company as they are the only service depot close to Calgary. They quoted $ 63.00 for service to assess what is wrong with the machine if I need help. I am to do a couple of things with the printer and see if it solves the problem. If not, I am to contact the company again. 2. If you don't have a car, you will have a problem getting your product to their company. 3. If you are looking to buy a printer, avoid Canon as they don't have technical support in Calgary or a repair depot. This is not a reflection on this company but on Canon as a whole. read more

Our 4 year old TV was having two issues. It kept power cycling (turn itself off and on again) every few minutes and it stopped connecting to the Internet. I was leery to call based on the few other reviews but Samsung's technical support couldn't fix the issue and said it would require a repair of some kind. SM Electronic is local and has been around for a long time so I placed a call figuring they must be doing something right. The lady that answered my call was very friendly and when I explained the issues she confirmed a technician would need to look at it to diagnose the problem and provide an estimate to fix it. She went on to explain very clearly that if I brought it to them the fee to diagnose the issue was $79. If they did a house call it would be $105. Either way, this cost would be applied to any repairs I authorized after they provided an estimate. I was able to book an appointment for the same day. It was the owner Mr Melemenis who came out. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a quick discussion about the problems the TV was having and he narrowed it down to a couple likely parts. He said he could do some research to determine which part(s) were the likely culprit and provide a written estimate to replace them. He confirmed our $105 would count towards the final bill if we gave the go ahead. As soon as I mentioned that we really didn't utilize the internet capabilities and our big concern was the power cycling he proposed simply disconnecting the wifi component as it may very well be the culprit. He tried this and put it all back together in under 15 minutes. Voila! Problem fixed. Now, had I just dropped the TV off at the business I suspect they would have provided me an estimate for replacement parts to get the TV back to original capabilities. For the extra dollars to have him come out so we could discuss the problem and solution I would say it was well worth it. I would not hesitate to use them again but like any repair shop I think you as the customer needs to be specific about your wants and needs to be sure you and the business are on the same page. Mr Melemenis was able to correct what we needed fixed without breaking the bank but that's partly because we were clear on what we wanted to spend money on and what we didn't in addition to his technical abilities. He's a good technician but I suspect his mind reading abilities are lacking. read more

We took in an older calculator only to find out 10 days later that the company could not get parts for it. They charged us $94.00 for something they could have looked up while we were there. A total rip-off! Don't deal with this company. We only went there because it was listed as the only Casio repair company in the Calgary area. Stay away! read more

Repairman was friendly. It was nice to have them come to my home to repair the Plasma rather then having to lug it over to the Depot.Called a few places and they were the only paced that called me back the same day. Great overall service. read more

If you choose to go with this company get everything in very specific detail and don't assume that what they are telling you is true. The repairman who came out was nice - didn't do the whole 'assessment' though. The price they quote is a bit shady so don't assume and ask for details. The main reason for the bad review is terrible customer service from the manager. Really just not worth the stress or hassle - the owner should look at training that manager in customer service better. However, at the end of the day they did just refund me - i think it was a mutually benificial decision to be rid of each other. Buyer beware - if panasonic tells you this is the only authorized panasonic warranty person ask for other options. Oh yes and they charge your credit card in advance knowing all your personal details and keep the number on file. Big time privacy issues there. Again, really not worth the hassle. read more
