Our experience with this business was not positive. Our first impression was that the gentleman working was neither personable or friendly, and gave us the impression that our business was an inconvenience to him. We brushed this aside, assuming that his workmanship would be better than his manners. We explained that we needed a new battery for the phone, and he said he could do that. Upon getting home, we noticed that the battery life of the phone had decreased by nearly 20%. This was a shock, as we did not use the phone on the way home, and only live a 5 minute drive from the store. The phone had never lost that much charge in so little time, prior to being serviced at this store. We then ran several (legit) battery tests, and the results were all the same: the battery life of the phone was no better than it was, prior to having the battery changed. We called the store, and respectfully explained the situation. The same gentleman gave us a trouble-shooting option - telling us that the battery life would increase over a short period of time, if we allowed the phone to completely drain, and then fully charge it , and do the cycle a second time. When my husband specifically asked if the battery that he replaced my old one with was brand new, he said "yes". He told him that in the section where you can check the battery life of the phone, it would say that the battery in the phone was in new condition. This was not the case - it did not state anywhere that the current battery was brand new, like he said it would. We allowed the phone to completely drain, then tried to charge it afterwards, like he told us to do. However, the phone simply would not charge at all (despite the fact that the charging symbol was being displayed)- which had never happened before. We tried using different chargers and outlets, with no success. The phone then started to turn itself off, and then reboot, every few minutes. The phone was completely unusable. My husband went back to the store the next day, and explained the situation to the same gentleman. He did not offer a possible explanation for the phone suddenly becoming deffective after the battery swap, and did not tell my husband that he could fix the issue either. He did not apologize for the inconvenience, or express that he cared in the least, which was almost as upsetting as the issue itself. He just told him that he would put our old battery back in the phone and provide us with a full refund. The man gave my husband 60 dollars in cash for the refund, despite him paying $82.50 via credit card. When my husband mentioned that he owed him another $22.50, he didn't say anything, and just went into the till to give him the additional $22.50 in cash. It is both frustrating and odd, that he did not refund our money back onto the card we paid with, like any other business would. Afterwards, we decided to call the manufacturer of the phone, in addition to stopping by a few reputable stores which sold and/or repaired cell phones. We wanted to understand what happened. We told them all about our experience, and asked them why they thought the phone stopped working after the battery change, and why the battery life of the "new" battery showed that it was not any better than the old original. The manufacturer of the phone, and the other store employees all told us that this was not normal, and that a brand new battery would improve function immediately. One employee suggested that he simply put a battery from an old phone into mine, and was likely planning on using my old battery to perform another battery change with. We were also told that if it was a new battery, he would have had packaging from the new battery to give us, or at least show us, in order to prove that it was indeed in new condition. The battery I need is currently difficult to get, but we will be waiting the time it takes to get a certified new one, and have the battery changed properly! We were lied to about receiving a brand new battery, and that is what upsets us most. We learned a lesson, and will never again sacrifice quality of service for convenience. read more
