Absolute rip-off called to get a new key fob for my 2015 Jeep and the guy happily quoted me nearly $500!!!. Phoned around and ended up over at always affordable on mcleod trail and got a new key fob and regrammed for $205. Absolute rip-off lock surgeon should be ashamed of themselves. terrible company, we were quoted $1000 in the Calgary store, when the technician came to our house, he insisted on doing the invoice first??? which came in at 50% more then quoted, we told him to get out but he would not until we paid $150 service call for doing nothing but trying to steal from us. Booked a service call to replace the strap on a roll shutter. Dispatcher sent a single person (job requires two people - I knew this and the service person knows this, but the dispatcher does not know). Service person came and said "This is a two person job", and complained that the dispatcher knows it is a two person job. Serviceman contacted his advisor after taking one minute to look at the job. Ten minutes later, serviceman returns and says we need to rebook an appointment with a two man team, and they need to order the part. The charge? $850!!! I said no. He said I still had to pay for current service call - $135. Of course, the service call provided no service, and no new information. Simply, this company is terrible. It is hard to say whether they are merely incompetent, or if they are grifters. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

Agreed to a base service call fee for Lock Surgeon to come look at our requirement for new padlocks that are keyed the same. When we wouldn't buy the package from them right then and there, they added all of this jargon (below) to their fee and charged us another $97.50. These guys (as I have now read through multiple reviews on different platforms) are absolutely out to scam you. Trust what you read in these reviews. None of these services were rendered for the charge except for them recommending and quoting a largely overpriced option. Calgary Lock quoted us for free over the phone and were extremely competitive. Or for the cost difference of what we paid Lock Surgeon was just trying to pressure us with their extra charges and rip us off. Again, these were just padlocks and we were able to purchase a better option for less money without the fees. I asked them to provide the documentation they stated below, but they cannot produce it as none of it was actually required or completed. Terrible experience. $149 for a service call, which doesn't include anything but that!!! That doesn't even come off your labour! This should be disclosed when you book a service. When I pointed this out, the rather snippy woman told me it was my responsibility to ask. Are you kidding me???? It is always disclosed when you book a service for any kind of repair in your house! I guess they don't tell you because who in their right mind would book a service with this company, unless you have money to burn, which I don't. I am feeling very angry, and rather taken advantage of right now. I will say, the technician was very nice. He should go work for a company that doesn't gouge it's customers. This is the email that I sent to Lock Surgeon at least 5 times since February with no reply. We recently had Lock Surgeon come to our home to repair our front door. The only thing done was a box sweep installed, the part and labour was $49.00. The work took less than 15 minutes. Why are we charged to for organizing tools, dispatch, tracking, payment processing, safety documentation, cleaning and organizing truck, tools and writing an invoice and office admin? We understand there is a service call fee, but don't understand why our bill was $332.00? read more

Used this company to replace a door knob on our back garden door, replace weather stripping around our front entry door and 1 key cut. Make sure you get a quote up front as they will nickel and dime you! This job cost us a total of 651.00 and they were on site for no more than 90 min. After completing the job they actually had the audacity to give us a quote to replace our garden doors to sliding doors....20,000.00!!!!!! STAY AWAY not all the criminals are in jail!!!!!! read more

I needed to replace all door handles on my exterior doors, not the deadbolts. My services technician David was friendly and professional. He was also very quick and completed the job quickly. Our back door would not lock properly without holding it in tight to lock it, he also fixed this. Guess what my bill was? A whopping $762.64. If you use this company,omg get a quote first. I thought the price for what was done was astronomical. I did get some quotes after the fact to see if I was overcharged...I sure was. I was expecting $400-$450. so almost double was shocking. I had requested have my over head door inspected since I had noticed that the cables were fraying and to give me and estimate, 2 guys showed up asked me what the problem was, I showed them the cables and asked them to check if any other work was required, the head guy didn't even bother to bring in the ladder to check the springs or the bearing, motor etc. The next thing I noticed that they stared to bring in the tools and were ready to replace without giving me a quote. When i asked for a the quote one of the guy very rude and very arrogant and told me was here to replace the cables not give an estimate, he came after few minutes and said it will $1100.00 to change to cables. I was charged $149.00 for the service call and plus half an hour to give me quote $97.50. The guys were there for less then 30 mins. During the whole process neither of the guys were wearing a mask. The most rude and arrogant techs I have ever come across. I have been in automotive service industry for over 50 years. I will never recommend this company to anyone ever. read more

Got them to replace a door sweep I supplied. The job was done OK. The bill of $ 276 for 10 minutes work was ridiculous . AVOID !!!
