We had such a great experience taking private lessons at Fred Astaire Dance Studio for our wedding…read moredance. Our instructor, Kage Hart, was incredibly encouraging, patient, and helpful throughout the entire process. He made us feel comfortable right away and broke everything down in a way that made learning easy and fun. Kage really took the time to make sure the dance fit us as a couple and helped build our confidence so we could enjoy the moment on our wedding day. If you're preparing for your first dance, I highly recommend working with Kage and the team at Fred Astaire. It was such a fun part of our wedding journey and made our first dance feel so special!

Kaylin got right to work, starting by helping us build strong dancing fundamentals and pick a first song-offering lots of suggestions to hone in on a song that felt like us, feel confident, and have fun while dancing. We ended up taking 6 lessons with her. In each lesson she taught us new moves, refined what we had learned previously, and listened to any adjustments we wanted to make to the choreography. Throughout the process she was incredibly kind and thoughtful-always asking us for permission to dance with us before making physical contact, adapting our choreography to accommodate physical constraints (like reducing spins to prevent dizziness), and validating our choices so we felt confident in the dance we were making. In our last lessons together, she also had really great input on our grand entrance-helping us choose a song and giving us tips on how to transition into our dance, which made everything flow smoothly on the wedding day. She even did a full dress rehearsal with us that helped keep our nerves in check on our special day. It was awesome to go from having virtually no dance experience to feeling like we'd picked up a new hobby by the end. Kaylin took our wedding preparation seriously and in addition to ending up with a dance that us and our guests all absolutely loved, her support elevated other parts of our wedding day. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, professional, and personalized dance experience.

Staff seems stretched too thin and instructors don't seem to always know what's going on have been quick to anger (scold entire classes, shame individuals in front of the class, or send mixed messages) which has been discouraging and stressful to many of the girls even if they aren't the one directly in the firing line. While class prices are reasonable, recital and costume fees are astronomical compared to other studios (especially considering some outfits are sourced through SHEIN are very low cost) and you are still required to purchase specific earrings and makeup- so plan on $300+ per recital... you will also be required to shell out more for tickets to actually see your child perform which could be multiple times over 2-3 days. Also be aware that some of the classes for older girls have had routines and costumes that are not always quite appropriate for someone under 18 and are borderline objectionable- not only uncomfortable for the dancer but also many times for the audience. If you're looking for anything above a basic class for a young beginner, I'd suggest checking out other studios that might be a better fit.

The teacher welcomed her and she loves her weekly class! Plus Cadence prices are so reasonable and you are able to watch the class (the other studio had blinds lowered all of class so parents couldn't watch). Thank you Cadence for bringing my daughter so much joy. Couldn't be more grateful for your welcoming environment for beginners!

And when you've done things over the years that you regretted signing your kids up for -- and have the kind of wonderful experience you've had here -- it makes you just wish every business was run this way. We arrive and instructor was rude saying you aren't scheduled for a trial today. I told him I could get out my email confirming our trial. I showed him the email confirming her trial. While we were sorting this out the kids in the class were chatting. He then yells at them "do you want to start class with a strike. Legs crossed, arms in lap, don't talk". I wanted to walk out at this point but my daughter would be so disappointed. He agreed reluctantly she could join the class. I ask if I could watch class he said "no, but since she is new today I'll open the blinds the last two minutes of class". Then after class he says in front of my daughter "as you can see when we went fast she just stood there. When we went slower she did follow along. I don't think she is a good fit for this class but if you want to come back for a second trial we can see how she does after that." I was shocked. I had already decided we weren't coming back based on how he treated the students but he literally decided my five year old wasn't good enough to do beginners 5-7 year old hip hop. And he said all this in front of her. Talk about soul crushing. Needless to say, she was dejected. I put her on a waitlist for another dance studio and a few months later despite the previous rejection I was proud of her for joining another beginner hip hop class. I was able to watch the entire first class and the teacher kindly welcomed her. She has been loving hip hop class at this other studio ever since! Needless to say, I cannot recommend this studio for 5-7 year old beginner hip hip despite the studio's popularity.
