Vera is so nice & supportive. I have gone to 2 of the Wednesday night rooftop social dancing & have had a great time. There's a lesson 6-7pm & then open dance 7-9pm. Plenty of ppl to dance with, I don't go with a partner & always have a partner. Im a beginner & the group is really helpful & encouraging & I've gotten better in the 2 nights I went. If you're like me, someone who has always wanted to learn to dance but have two left feet, zero rhythm, Vendanza is your new dance home. My teachers Vera and Amy love what they do and possess the genuine teaching gene, along with an abundance of encouragement and patience. I've tried taking beginner lessons twice at different studios but I always left feeling embarrassed, self conscious and not achieving my minimum goal of learning a few steps and applying it to music. This all changed when I signed up for the new student pass which gave me access to 2 classes. It was so much fun and the mind blowing part I should say a miracle , I actually achieved doing basic steps to music!! AND I didn't need to bring a partner. Vera structures the class to bring you on the road to success and you feel totally at ease getting there. This is huge as I'm very self conscious. The first half of beginner bachata (and salsa, each class is an hour; 630 pm and 730 pm tues ) is learning the steps solo and the last half is partnering up. Regarding partnering up : Vera the owner, has such a dedicated student body, the more advanced students consistently show up for the beginners class which in my opinion provides for fun and productive dance and contributes to solidifying and speeding up your learning progress. Each week I notice improvement. Everyone there is so patient, helpful , and good natured toward us newbies , it's just so inspiring and keeps me coming back for more. I'm developing my dancing skills and having a blast while doing it. The social dancing events Vera sponsors are the cherry on top. (I've attended 6) Food , drinks. A professional DJ and truly the way to put your new dance moves to good use. Posting a long overdue review because I have been going here for years! I started out learning social dancing at Vedanza and now am on one of the performance teams. This studio has become like family, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Vera and Amy have helped me to grow my confidence and ability in salsa and bachata after I started knowing next to nothing. They are so positive and their love for teaching shines through. Their lessons are excellent for beginner through intermediate and I have found this to be the least pushy/salesy studio- they are just there to support your dance goals, unlike some of the big chain studios that try to upsell you super expensive packages. Went to a social dance class here. The place itself was nice, very well lit and lots of mirrors. My only complaint was that as a beginner the instructor went way to fast. Instead of asking if the class was all beginners she asked is this anyone's first time. No one raised their hands so she taught the class as if we were all proficient. Unfortunately it led to a lot of uncomfortable dancing that the class was painful to get through. But once social started and more senior dancers were able to guide less experienced dancers it went more smoothly and I enjoyed my night. read more

I cannot recommend Vera enough for her ability to teach dance with her background in ballet and understanding of human anatomy to help make movements natural and beautiful. She is totally attentive to her students and I hope to attend more of her ladies choreography classes in the future. This is a wonderful dance school. They teach Latin and movement. They have classes, teams, privates and (before Covid) parties. Vera is super fun and funny and so talented at breaking down moves. She makes everyone feel welcome. Mario is so patient and terrific at breaking down moves. Christian is so good at fancy footwork and giving everyone a challenge. The music is excellent. Vera and Panda are amazing instructors!!! Classes are a lot of fun and the routines are challenging. The routines are taught very well with a step by step breakdown. I always leave practice with a great understanding of the routine (steps) and apply them to when I go out social dancing. I have always had a passion for dancing more specifically Bachata and Salsa. However, I barely knew the basics and found myself mostly standing on the side of the dance floor watching everyone else have fun. This all changed after doing a little research about 1yrs ago and came across VeDanza Dance Company!! I now no longer stand on the side of the dance floor!! I was lucky to stumble onto Vedanza. Following my wife's passing a therapist recommended me to Balboa park dances to join a social club as a way to get back out into society. From there I ended up at a salsa/bachata dance social and enjoyed what I was witnessing. I wanted to learn to join in the fun. Someone I met there recommended Vedanza and I attended a class. It was great. The people were so nice and the lessons are lot of fun. There are always partners there for one that is alone to dance with during class. The prices are reasonable and the people are always great to be around. They have paths for one to advance there lessons and during non pandemic times there are salsa/bachata dance socials every week in different areas in san diego north and south county. We went to five different dance studios all around the San Diego area in search of a great place to take salsa and bachata classes. Without a doubt, VeDanza classes are the best. Vera is an extremely personable and talented instructor. She explains things in a way you can understand. The other students are really friendly and welcoming to newcomers (no bad attitudes). Everyone has fun!!! The classes have a quick pace (so they are not boring which is often the case with other studios). You learn great moves you can use in social dancing around town. As well, Vedanza sponsors monthly salsa/bachata socials that are really well attended. So you can use everything you've just learned. If you want to learn professional dance moves, VeDanza also offers those classes, although my interest is more related to social dancing. The instructor Vera is awesome, she's an incredible dancer and a great person. The classes are fun and you pick up the dancing fast. Some other instructors go extreeeemeeeelly slooooooow. Vedanza has a good pace, you'll be dancing a routine in less than an hour. Just memorize those steps and then learn maybe one other routine and you can go out on the dance floor confidently. It's great. There are other places that have a very stuck up attitude but Vedanza is awesome, everybody is nice and enjoys themselves.
