We found Ariel's mommy and me dance class and immediately knew it was something I wanted to try with my 18 month old- when I called to sign up I was able to also receive a free trial class to see if it was a fit for us. We have been attending dance class for a year now and it's been amazing to see the growth in my daughter's personality, I largely thank dance for her following directions, trying new things, somersaults, and learning to clean up! It took some time in the beginning maybe a month or two for her to want to jump in so don't give up right away especially if your babe is younger. There's class during the summer still and lot's of fun themed classes, dress up days and songs. I love supporting this dance studio in particular because Miss Ariel is an big advocate in giving back to the community. We had our first recital and we also got to perform the dance at a local nursing home for the folks there. She offers all types of dance classes including adaptive and since we all performed at the recital we got to meet all of these awesome special needs adults (who are excellent actors, singers and dancers!) and who are so often forgot about in extracurricular activities. read more

The customer service is not good. We have set prices we're charged per month (which is higher than surrounding studios I've realized). I tried to give this studio a chance before leaving but simply couldn't do it anymore. To start there is no warning about extra charges and fees until last minute and this doesn't work for me. It's unprofessional as a business owner. I am one as well and customer service and communication is so important for retention. It's a "everyone owes this for this, it's due by tomorrow or I'm charging your card" .. well where was the heads up and shouldn't this be included in the pricing besides recital uniforms which is understandable. Next, as far as the class I do think my daughter enjoys it for fun but for learning seriously, no. I don't want to pay a higher amount for a dance studio where it's just fun but not quality learning as well. I've watched a few classes and it's so high paced and rushed that they're not retaining as much as they could. The biggest thing that I have an issue with is the customer service. The owner is not as kind as she comes off. She picks and chooses who she speaks to. I've walked in a few weeks in a row and she will not speak. I watch her greet the other parents. So this one is huge for me. It's too passive aggressive with a big smile. My daughter has curly Afro hair and I was asked about 3 times on different days in front of her and other people, would it be possible to do an extremely easy style on her. Her hair is normal and I found it quite offensive. ANY hair can be styled and form in any manner no matter the texture. And to be clear the other children with straight hair weren't asked was it possible to do a ponytail style on their hair. Then to go on and speak when you feel comfortable or feel ready to is red flags for me. This studio doesn't feel inclusive and the owner needs to do a better job on how she's communicating with HER CUSTOMERS and how she's coming off. read more

My daughter (6) is currently in Ballet/HipHop with Ariel. We have loved her teaching so much we've followed her from previous dance studios. My brother (12) is currently in Ballet/Tap/Jazz class, he absolutely loves it! Ariel is an absolute rockstar. She's kind and patient. Her love of dance is shown throughout each one of her students. My daughter has grown such a passion for dance, we plan to be here for a while! My daughter, Kai has been in dance since she was 3. She is 6 now. We lived in Arizona for a few years so she started her weekly dance at a school in Arizona. She has performed in 3 recitals in Arizona and now is practicing her 4th recital here in California with Ariels dance studio! I liked her old dance school, but I didn't have anything to compare it to. After coming to Ariels I could see the clear difference between fluff and technique. Her old dance studio was very cute, but they focused more on the little ones playing around than on actual technique. Ariel does an amazing job with the little ones teaching them that classical music goes with ballet, not Disney songs, and the names of the moves they are learning. My cousin was a New York City Rockette for her whole life and now is a choreographer for them. So it is so cute that Kai want to dance just like her big cousin. I love that I am seeing improvement in Kai in her short time here at Ariel's. She is interested in pointe eventually she said, and going to Disneyland to perform at the end of the year, the happiest place on earth!!! I'm so happy I found this place. read more

This studio seems to have lost a lot of student's lately. One in particular, who has been going to Ariel's since she was 6, switched studio's, because she hit a ceiling there. The owner actually forbid her daughter to speak with the girl whom she has been friends with for years. Very unprofessional. This studio needs a management overhaul. Such poor attitude and customer service. I would never recommend this place. read more

Ariel's Dance Studio has been one of the greatest blessings for my daughter. She has grown so much in her dance abilities, talents, and more importantly a sense of belonging to a very wonderful group of kids, as well as her instructor's. Her self esteem has blossomed. The teacher's are all so awesome and the kids adore them. They really love these kids, including Ariel the owner. Ariel is very involved and devotes tireless hours to our kids and her second home (Ariel's Dance Studio:) Yes, her daughter'(s) (and son) are with her often (as the above reviewer complained) and also dance. They are such special children you wouldn't want it any other way. Yes, Ariel is a mom as well and she makes both owning a business and truly caring about her dance family and being a devoted mother very obvious to all her know her well. Ariel's Dance Studio is a home away from home, intimate dance studio where our children can grow, thrive, learn to LOVE dance and express themselves through talents acquired through Ariel's. My daughter is in the Mommy and Me dance class and she has truly blossomed. The class has the perfect amount of movement, education and consistency. I like that there is a mix of the same things but Ariel also adds many fun new aspects. She helps the kids no matter what stage and has amazing patience will the little ones. YAY Ariel's! Went to my girls' recital today at the Star theater in downtown Oceanside. It was spectacular! My girls, 7 and 8, have only been taking dance for 5 months, and both got up and danced their hearts out in front of a very large audience. And they loved doing it. In fact, they remarked on the way home that they want to take dance lessons for another ten years, *gulp*. I've never seen such a well choreographed show, with kids of all ages. There were toddlers to high schoolers and they were all amazing. The music varied from classics to rock and hip hop. There was ballet, tap, and hip hop routines, and we loved them all. I'd had reservations about the hip hop, but it was absolutely great. The dance classes are good for boys, too. The young men brought the house down with applause. This is a wonderful place to teach your children the joy of movement and poise. Highly recommended. read more

Took my daughter Cassidy there for the toddler class. It's fun for her. She enjoyed it. But I hope she gets A/C soon so she can maybe even make the class a full hour. Prices are a little steep specially for 45mins class. But overall it was good. read more

We been taking our 2 year old daughter here for almost a year and its great. The instructor Ariel is full of energy and keeps the kids dancing their hearts out. Its a super way to burn off energy and she learns all kinds of dance moves which she loves. Plus its a great way for moms to get out and have fun too. read more

We've had a great experience at Ariel's Dance Studio! I've been taking my daughter since she was 2 to Mommy and Me. She's now doing tap/ballet in the 5.5-7 year old class and it's been fun to watch her grow and learn. I feel like it's a great blend of structure and fun. read more

Took my daughter to the mommy and me class. After a few classes, my daughter, who loves to dance--didn't want to go at all. The classes were allright, but I think the instructor (Ariel) may be better with older children and not the 18mo.-3 year old range. There was limited consistency and the instruction was often too fast-paced for my daughter to keep up. After 5 classes my daughters coordination actually digressed. The dance floor was also very filthy. Not a terrible place, but probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend (at least for the young class) read more

Extremely disappointing customer service and very disorganized studio. Although some of the staff members were friendly and competent, the owner as well as many of the dance instructors were rude and arrogant on several occasions. They do not seem to have an effective system for collecting payments and fees and there is a definite lack of management skills. I am usually an understanding person; everyone has a bad day, but this studio has made these mistakes way too many times. Nepotism is not often the best thing for business and this seems to the the theme at this studio as well. Pulling my kids for good to find a better-run, more friendly studio that values their customers. read more

Assisted Ariel for one of her routines with her students and also worked for her at Tri-City Private School; she really cares and is passionate about this art and you can tell by how great she is with all her students. Her studio offers everything from ballet, salsa and hip hop. I love Ariel and all her students do also. Definitely recommend to anyone who want to learn or just want to get their boogie on. read more
