Dr. Wong and his staff are all very personable and informative. They all go the extra mile for my vision needs.

My family by marriage (my in-laws) have been going to Sherman Optical for four straight generation…read more This is not an exaggeration. My husband's grandparents went there, my in-laws went there, my husband and I go there, and I will take my daughter there for her new frames. Eyeglass frames and lenses are so expensive, and that can be really frustrating, so I recently tried to go the "cheap" route and order glasses from Warby Parker. BIG MISTAKE. First of all, I took my prescription in and the guy asked me, "is this a distance prescription or a reading prescription?" Um, I don't know? Isn't that your job to figure out? I had Warby Parker replace my lenses two separate times and I literally cannot see out of them. I have better vision with my own bare eyes. Finally I just acquiesced and went back to Sherman Optical. They are not cheap, but if you want glasses that actually help, are high quality, and which the staff will help you with for years to come, Sherman Optical is by far the best option.

Had a wonderful experience there for my mom. Friendly knowledgable staff that was able to repair…read moretwo sets of glasses in a matter of days saving hundreds of dollars on new pairs. Not to mention the grueling part of picking out the perfect pair. I really appreciate their kindness and realism.

Before visiting Kay's, I read the great reviews and gave her a call to check on insurance coverage…read more It was a call that was informative and fun...so, off I went to Kay's. Finding it was a challenge for me. It's located on the street level of a large apartment complex and I drove right by her not-so-attention-getting sign on the sidewalk. Once you find the store, there's parking on the second level lot for this forgettable complex. Get ready for perkiness and enthusiasm from a darling woman who LOVES WHAT SHE DOES!!! It shows! Kay worked with me to find the exact frame I was seeking. When I informed her I wanted glasses like Lester Holt currently wears on the NBC News, she laughed and knew exactly what I meant. I landed on a great French design that had a a stout industrial feel and fit like a glove. I wanted longer temples and a choice of lengths. Kay made certain that was an available option with these "tres expensive" frames. (I always choose the most expensive stuff!) Since my insurance only covered a portion, Kay worked on the price, with magical discounts, to make it the frames more affordable. I truly appreciated her efforts. She told me she wanted me to be "going around showing-off my 'Lester Holts' and feeling great!" How sweet! "SOLD!" Kay knows how to build her business with the most effective marketing tool imaginable..."Word of Mouth". It was great to go pick them up,too. So amusing! Kay is great and you'll love the purchasing experience and, most likely, Kay, as well!!!

She is very knowledgeable and helped us pick out great options for frames that made my daughter very happy. About 10 months later, we had an issue with the frame and went back to Kay. She loaned us an awesome pair from her own line, completely free of charge, until we got the replacement frame. When we came back to pick up the new frames, Kay surprised us with her generosity and kindness by letting my daughter keep the loaner frames since they looked so good on her! We offered to compensate Kay for them but she turned us down. It was such an unexpected and wonderful gesture that will be hard to top. We can't recommend Kay highly enough!

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic or Dr. Karrick!…read more I came to this clinic to get a second opinion after having a really terrible experience with another Edmonds eye doctor. They got me in the same day I called! Dr. Karrick was so kind and so knowledgeable and treated me with the dignity and respect that I did not get from the first doctor. Thanks to Dr. Karrick, instead of getting two completely unnecessary eye surgeries I just needed a $13 antibiotic! Everybody at this clinic was kind and helpful, right down to the receptionist and the tech. I will be transferring my entire family's care here! If you need eye care in Edmonds, GO HERE!!!

But I had made an appointment for 3:30 pm on a work day and when I arrived the receptionist told me that my appointment was moved to 2:20. They left a voicemail and told me that I can call back if I have problems. No confirmation or anything. Someone should tell them theyre not the only one in this business. There are plenty of eyecare places to choose from around this area. What a horrible business. No wonder there are so many bad reviews within the last year. Good riddance edmonds wont miss them of they're gone within the next couple of years with their reputation.

Not all glasses stores are the same...and I'll prove it:…read more I have very bad astigmatism in my right eye (+7.25) and have been using the higher quality progressive lenses for my frames. About four years ago, my glasses were getting so worn out, so I opted to get all-new specs. I have a good friend who is an optician, and he always does my measurements and creates my prescriptions for me. I brought my current prescription to the LensCrafters at Northgate Mall (or what's left of it), who promised me their lab could handle my heavy astigmatism. So I picked out a new frame and placed the order. Then they informed me I could get a second pair for 50% off, and I had been wanting to get prescription sunglasses anyways, so I opted to do the promotional offer for those glasses. I left the store feeling good that I had finally paid some attention to getting better eyesight. However, the result was horrific. First off, the lenses they gave me started to scratch up like crazy after the first month, despite my meticulous efforts to use only glasses-approved cleaning solution and microfiber cloth wipes to clean them. I mean, I was religious about it because I didn't want to scratch my beautiful new lenses. Turns out that didn't matter...they continued to get scratched up at a very fast pace. Secondly, they never produced my sunglasses. When I went in to pick up my regular glasses, they told me the sunglasses would take a little longer, which was fine with me. Two months later I called them wondering where my new sunglasses were. They told me the order had been cancelled. When I asked why, they couldn't produce a clear answer. They told me they would "look into it" and would let me know what they found out. They never, ever returned any of my calls, texts, or emails. I had to go back into the store a third time and demanded to know what was going on with my sunglasses order. They again told me the order was cancelled without any explanation as to why. They did not give me any option for honoring their promotional offer, which was the entire reason I decided to get the sunglasses in the first place. It was so infuriating, disrespectful, and negligent. Eventually, they reluctantly refunded my money, and I told them they had lost a customer for life. I was left searching for a new resource for my eye care that wouldn't treat me like a commercial pawn or just another consumer to scam. I live in Shoreline, so I took a chance and gave a call to Shoreline Eyecare. They were very understanding of my predicament and suggested I come in so they could see the glasses, my prescription, and give me their overall assessment of what would be a good next step for me to take. I immediately felt like someone actually gave a shit about my eyesight...which was very refreshing given the hellish experience at LensCrafters. My experience got even better after my first visit. I was offered a free check-up to verify the accuracy of my prescription, and then I met with a nice employee named Ally to review lens options for my existing frames (I wanted to keep the frames). When I showed her the glasses I got from LensCrafters, she looked them over for about twenty seconds and said my lenses were very likely defects because of the nature of the scratches and the fact they were so bad after a short period of time. As my blood boiled about being taken for a ride by yet another consumer-preying corporate entity such as LensCrafters, my conscience was slowly being convinced I had come to the right place at Shoreline Eyecare. It was exceptionally clear to me that Ally was thinking and acting upon my best interests. As she made suggestions, she checked the system to see if my insurance gave my discounted or covered options, she shared alternatives, showed me the supply line items for total transparency, and just made me feel like she was now my eyesight partner, as opposed to someone trying to sell me new glasses. When I decided to pull the trigger on the new lenses, I also decided to get the sunglasses as well since this seemed like a place that would be able to fulfill such a request. Ally informed me that, based on my insurance policy, it would behoove me to wait until after the new year because, at that point, she could apply a vision discounting to my order and save me close to $200! So I chose to do that for my regular glasses and went ahead with the sunglass order in the meantime. Ally helped me get the new lenses for my glasses ordered, they fit perfectly, and I'm now enjoying amazingly sharp and clear eyesight. Even being out of network for my insurance couldn't keep my business away. If you want real help for your eyesight, make sure you go to Shoreline Eyecare.
