I have followed their recommendations for daily eye care and I have called in when something was not quite right. They respond with care and compassion and the entire staff is top notch! RUN - DO NOT RECOMMEND After calling numerous offices to find glasses for a child under three I thought I had found the perfect optometrist for my child's needs. However, after spending about five minutes I dreaded visiting the location. As soon as I walked in I caught a very snarky receptionist with terrible customer service skills and low class presentation of a "big name" eye glass wear company. I thought I would be educated about the different eye glasses for my daughter and it seemed as though they were doing us a favor to open the doors. I can see why the establishment is not busy and people run out the door. DO NOT RECOMMEND coming here worst decision I made. dont get a morning appointment the receptionist wake on the wrong side of the bed. I just went recently and this Hispanic lady was rude and saying her system was down (understandable it's not her fault but the tone in her voice) and proceeded to think I had the wrong location time. when I called to try and reschedule the appointment she answered and respond with a attitude"yeah, my systems are still down." without asking for any information of myself. honestly from the years I've been there, this has never happened. what the heck? read more

This place is awesome. First, they called me ahead of time to discuss some issues with my insurance (don't even get me started on my crap Memorial Hermann Insurance). And then, when I got here, Alex stayed on the phone with them for 30 minutes to try and confirm my vision coverage. She was able to find out that I had a $130 allowance I didn't even know about! They also got me a great deal on contacts because they knew I was tight on money, and a year subscription came with free sunglasses! All the receptionists stood up to greet me when I got here, and the doctor was friendly. The office is clean, and very nice. The office is run by Christians, and I can tell the difference in the level of service. I will definitely be back! read more

I show for my appt this am, to be told by their pre-screener this am I running a "fever" of 99.9......I was then told to sit in my car and run my AC to bring my "fever" down! Good doctors, incompetent office and billing staff who are non responsive and managers do not return request for call back.

Very bad customer service. The doctor was great. The people working the counter have no clue what they are doing. First of all, they couldn't explain what all the charges were for on my bill. Once I finally got that explained, I paid my bill was given a receipt that I have a balance due of zero. When I came to pick up my contacts, they tell me I owe extra money. That's not how you conduct business. Then they want to be rude about it. So I told him to refund me and send the contacts back. But the people working at the counter can't do that. They have no clue what they're doing at this place. Be careful when you go here because they will try to overcharge you. Or lie about how much you owe. Came to Vision Source for the first time since moving to Kingwood. The staff and doctors are wonderful. When we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces. What a pleasant environment from the music playing in the background to the beautiful fish tank. Ed was the young man that assisted my daughter in picking out her first pair of eyeglasses. Ed was SO HELPFUL!!! He got an idea of what type of frames my daughter liked and then he gave her some options. I was a patient here when I lived in Kingwood. Suffice it to say, because of my experience here, I will never, ever recommend a Vision Source or go to one ever again. In fact, the experience here had made me incredibly apprehensive about going to any eye doctor ever again (which thankfully has been resolved thanks to Dr. Bruce Krutsinger at River Oaks Vision). I waited for an appointment I made, but kept waiting and waiting. When enough time had passed and I inquired about the delay, I found out that I was apparently "forgotten." Great. The exam with the doctor was all right, but I got the impression that the faster they could get rid of me, the better. This was reflected when the assistant "helped" me select frames. Moreover, she was not listening to me or my needs. I informed her of my budget, and after trying on a few pairs, I picked one that I thought was decent (my mistake) and tried to get out of there. While checking out, I was alarmed at how high my bill was, even with insurance. When I had asked about costs during the services, I felt incredibly ashamed. When I mentioned to the receptionists that I wish the assistant who helped me listened to my needs and actually picked out some frames in my budget, she condescendingly and rudely said, "We're not *that* kind of place. Most people here can afford the services here." If I felt ashamed before, I felt incredibly dehumanized at this point. I honestly hope that people who go here are treated better than I was. I have never been so humiliated at a business before, especially since I had inquired about products within my price range. Not impressed. I definitely didn't get the eye exam I used to get in SoCal. The assistant who did the eye "tests" couldn't get the machine to work correctly which, I believe, diminished the quality and extent of the preliminary exam...as in, there was no test for my peripheral vision which should be done for someone my age. When I went to pick up my glasses today, the guy looked at my old glasses and adjusted the new ones based on what the old ones looked like. He didn't touch the glasses while they were on my face to see if they were coming off of my ears-- which they are now doing--which means another trip back to get them adjusted correctly. They are a huge company and the building is beautiful. I recommend you shop around and read reviews before you venture in here. read more

Not only is it conveniently located and easy to find but the place is run very efficiently. Their schedule is closely followed. Unlike other dr offices I visit, I can expect to be seen on time and be done on time. This is very valuable to those of us running on a tight schedule. They have several doctors so the wait time is minimized. The prices are a bit higher so if you are on a budget, you may want to shop around. You can also do eye exam and take prescription with you. You will love the calming and huge fish tank with salt water fish in the center of waiting area. We also discovered a kids play area in a corner where little ones can play. I was not impressed with Vision Source in Kingwood. The visit wasn't terrible, but it was nothing special either. The office, facilities, equipment and overall aesthetics is very nice; the front desk staff were extremely nice as well. However, my doctor "Dr. Dan" seemed apathetic to my presence. When he came in the office and met me for the first time, he says, "So, what do you need from me today?" I'm thinking, 'Uhh, you're an eye doctor, what do you think I need', not to mention that I scheduled an "EYE EXAM" with your appointment desk. Dan hurried through the exam, with his apathy in plain view the whole time, and then turned me over to the eye wear sales department. My wife and I both had appointments the same day. Come to find out, she didn't have a great experience either. She saw Dr. Jeffrey Kenya. I asked what she thought about her doctor and she told me he "was flirty..." I asked if the doctor was being flirty or was he directly flirting with you and she asked me, "what's the difference..." So, long story short, she said he was "being flirty, but not so much that it made me uncomfortable of being alone with him in a dark exam room." My wife is very pretty and she gets flirted with all the time and it doesn't bother me at all. I am completely secure in my relationship. But, you know, it doesn't make me feel good about your office if your doctors don't notice the ring and control themselves. It is simply unprofessional. So, now we get to the eye wear sales... You know that sleazy feeling you get when you sit down in the finance department at the car dealership? Sort of the same thing here, but obviously not at the level of the car dealership, where you need a shower afterward, but it reminded me of that felling. They were very pushy and impatient and were really hawking the extras. The frames are outrageously priced, especially knowing that 99.9% of them are made in China. And then comes the "add-ons" sheet with all the "extras" you can add to your lenses. Hey, we're a capitalist economy and I am all for making profit, but you better be able to sustain your business model. I'm sure Vision Source in Kingwood will be fine; they have a great location and the office is very nice. But, for me, I will not return there. In fact, I have 4 kids to get eye exams and we'll be driving the extra distance back to our old eye doctor, who is wonderful. Very poor lack of communication, as a new customer, I called to get information for contacts exam, whoever I spoke with told me the price was $78 and they're ever going to do the glasses exam first, I asked her if they were going to charge for that too and she said no, since I'm getting the contacts exam. Today I went up for the appointment, I walked in and the Hispanic employee (I forgot her name but she's the lead) who was at the front desk looked at me like if I was a criminal or something. I don't need to get all dress up to go get an exam, I don't go there to impress anyone. After that weird look, i asked her what was the price for the exam, she also said $78. After I went in and do what they had to do we were done and she said, it's going to be $167, I was like what? Why? OMG Would give these guys 0 stars if I could. Went in for eye appointment on December 17 and bought (over paid for.. which I know I should not have done) a new pair of sunglasses. They never called me to tell me my glasses were ready so after waiting a few weeks I went in and found out they were ready (would have been nice to know) but they had screwed up my prescription and they were unusable! Then I had to make ANOTHER appointment to get screened by a doctor before they would fix my glasses. After another 2 weeks of waiting, I went back in and this time the was apparently a problem with the lab which meant ANOTHER 2 week delay (but at this point... who knows). So after 3 weeks and $500 I am here still with no glasses! read more

My family and I have been going to this place for about 4 years. Needless to say I was disappointed when they billed me 18 months after my husband's appointment saying they "undercharged at the time of exam." It was only for a little over $20, but it was the principle of the matter. We had been getting our glasses and exams there for quite awhile, mine alone being $1200.00 for glasses and sunglasses. The employees are polite, professional, and helpful. Several months ago I had an exam with Dr. Acosta, who communicates well and does an excellent job. My prescription was so close to those of my glasses, that I did not buy new glasses at that time. However, just last week after wearing my current glasses for four years with no trouble, one of my temple pieces broke. I was a "walk-in" with my broken glasses, and I was helped almost immediately. My options were explained thoroughly--the cost of replacing the one temple piece, then of replacing both (at my request), of getting just new frames, and of replacing the entire glasses.The employee helped me understand what my vision insurance would cover and what it would not. I decided to replace both temple pieces and had the glasses back by the end of the week. I've been very pleased with the care and service I've received at Vision Source! read more

Every year when I go for my eye exam it always the same! This place is so predictable from its customer service to its scheduling to its appearance. Excellent, excellent, excellent! I recommend it when someone asks for an eye doctor. Always get greeted immediately when I walk in and I don't think I have ever waited more than 10 mins to be called back. The office is nice and the reception staff are friendly and professional. Other than that, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I went to Vision Source to fill my glasses prescription only because they were the only place locally who had the frames I wanted - everywhere else the frames were on backorder for six weeks. I found Ed, a supervisor in the glasses area, to be extremely pushy about the type lenses he wanted me to purchase and all of the extras. I wear glasses everyday so I don't mind getting the best - that said, I spent over $900 on two sets of their "best" progressive trifocals. We experienced Harvey and its aftermath - and I finally got my glasses. The glasses look beautiful, but I could not wear either pair without getting a serious headache. I left a message for Ed - no return call. We worked to help the community to recover from Harvey and I started a new job. I recently went back with both pair of glasses. Ed made some calls and said MAYBE his rep could help me with one pair. Wait!! What?!?!? One pair?? I have two pair of glasses that I paid for! He said "lets work on one pair". What?!?! I was beside myself as he continued "maybe you don't understand what I am doing for you here". He was not kidding. He said I was outside of the timeframe when they would fix the lenses. What?!?!? Unbelievable. I will NEVER recommend this company. I have since taken my unusable glasses to my regular eye doctor and am paying to have them corrected. If you want to feel like a number, deal with pushy sales staff, and work with a company who doesn't stand behind their products, this is most certainly the place to go. read more
