I called and made a contact eye appointment for my daughter going away to college that week. After the exam my daughter took the script to another provider to order contacts. My daughter was told the exam document was just for eyeglasses. I contacted Vision Care Associates and confirmed the appointment was for contact lens evaluation. I was told I needed to speak with a certain person who was on another call but would call me back after the call was over. I waited all day and decided to file a complaint with my eye insurance company due to the provider rep did not returning my call as promised. I was also told my daughter could come back for another exam for the contacts. I said NO, she is away at college several hours away which is why we needed the contact eye appointment prior to her leaving for college. I am now waiting to get the insurance benefit back so my daughter can see an eye doctor locally at her college location. Office follow through and doctor Ottino doing the wrong type of eye exam has been frustrating and costing me much time for calls and complaints. How difficult is it to say sorry, we screwed up. If your daughter is far away and going to college, we apologize and will not submit a claim for the wrong type of exam. That should have been the better customer experience and answer. read more

Once again, I went into the office to set up an appointment and was told that I could not because they turned me over to collections. Yet, my records show that I paid the amount on 6/17/24. Why is there a collection notice on my file when it was paid on 6/17/24 - four months ago? Lisa, the billing manager, would not listen to me when I said it was paid. She said I had to prove it with a receipt. If you want to be treated to good service, skip Vision Care North Grand. read more

Very hostile work staff. The environment created there makes staff uncomfortable and as a patient I felt it walking thru the door. I felt like I was entering a prison, and the management has enabled this atmosphere by allowing it to continue. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere the prejudice is not so thick it can be tasted and eaten. read more

If you want to see, do not go here. I have had problems with my last 2 pair of glasses. This last time went back and they told me that they went with a new company and people are bringing their glasses back all the time. I still cannot see out of the 1k glasses that I paid for. What a joke of a practice. Require that CHILDREN mask. No personal freedom or medical freedom, do you really want an optometrist working on your eyes that still believes mask work? I scheduled an Appointment for my husband and myself, when we arrived were told only my husband was scheduled and I wasn't I told her I made appointment for both on the same call she said no I only have him. But would check an see if Theo could see me. She checked and said they could work me in but not sure when or the time frame. Disagree with this I made the appointment and should have followed my husband as scheduled she said no you don't have an appointment. Calling customers a list isn't customer service we left and would recommend this company especially after I spoke with the office manager and she said she was one her way to talk to us before we left but didn't make it out before we left. She as only interested in if we wanted to reschedule and again said I didn't have an appointment. I wouldn't be there if I didn't have an appointment. I'm not a liar! read more

My college aged son just went for a check-up. An email appointment reminder suggested he arrive 10 minutes early. What a waste. Vision Care made him wait 35 minutes and hassled him 20 times to sign up for the optimap thing after he said "no." Doctor finally came in and rushed through the exam and seemed very irritated. We always ask for script and head to JC Penny's to fill it. It is much cheaper there. Pretty typical of my appointments. I have no idea why I don't switch doctors or even companies. read more

I met with Dr. Dale Swetlishnoff and he was great. Definitely would recommend him to anyone looking for new optometrist.

It had been several years since I had an eye exam and honestly didn't see the need for one. I entered the North Grand location and was instantly greeted by the receptionist who was superb. After she directed me in the direction to the appropriate department of the building, I walk through one of the most welcoming clinics I have ever been in. The entire staff was extremely professional but made me feel like I was right at home. The optometrist and technician both by far surpassed my expectations and clearly understood some issues I experienced with my eyes which initiated the exam. I recommend them to everyone and plan on keeping my business with them. read more

The eye scan was interesting and convenient since I did not need to dilate my eyes for the rest of the day. Everyone was personable and friendly. The technology is interesting. Dr. Elissa showed me an image of my eyes and was careful with the vision test, summarizing the findings. Many thanks to Leanne who stayed past closing to help me choose a frame and reviewed the costs line by line. I gave her a sense of what I was looking for and she quickly returned with an array of frames that perfectly matched my taste, and reviewed different colors with me. I found the perfect one. Horrible customer service by Office staff. I saw Dr. Ottino on a Friday at the Prairie Crossing Drive Office and was given a follow up appointment the Friday after. When I got to the Prairie Crossing Office at the appointment time, I was told that the Optometrist is at the North Grand Location. Neither the reminder txt the day before, nor the reminder card given to me had the North Grand Location. I had a several office meetings scheduled that day so going across town was not a viable option. I asked if another optometrist could just check as this was a short follow up that was just to check the contacts or give me a few more contacts as Dr. Ottino was not going to be in the next week. The receptionist said hold on went back and got a Tech named Brie who came and said " Sir you are going to have to leave" in a loud voice and proceeded to go call someone. I then asked the receptionist if this was necessary and she said she understood and it wasn't. This is not the kind of service that one provides when they were wrong in not telling me which office to go to. The optometrist was fine, the staff leaves a lot to be desired in customer service.
