Yelp came through again!!! Things don't always go as planned while in vacation. Last night while in Lexington, Kentucky at 11:30 pm my boyfriend's crown popped out. I yelped "emergency dental" and saw the post from a patient who had an emergency and was also on vacation. So, while on the road heading to Springfield, at 7:40 this morning we called Dr. Capati's after hours number and told him what happened. He said to call his staff at 8:00 and we did; they were able to squeeze in Stephen at 2:50 pm. The staff texted him a link for dental information (ie name, address, issues, etc) and by the time we arrived, everything was taken care of. He was done within 45 minutes and he said the tooth feels great. He's extremely happy and gives high praise to the staff and doctor. read more

Be careful if you are a new patient! They do not do annual cleaning for the patient, instead they do first time visit cleaning which your insurance usually will not cover it 100%. I have made the call to do annual cleaning but it ended up be another "advanced" cleaning, named as: first time visit cleaning. This cleaning might be needed if you have not do your dental appt for more than 5-10 years, but for most ppl with insurance covered, we do cleaning annually, this advanced check make no sense, especially the dental trying to play the game to not mentioning specifically that they are doing a cleaning that will not be covered by insurance completely. So remember to ask clearly before they give you anything to sign! read more

After 8 years without any dental care or insurance, I was finally able to schedule an appointment. I have been "phobic" of going to the dentist since I was a little kid. My insecurities of the tartar buildup on my lower teeth outweighed the phobia. Dr. Capati and his staff are top notch and we are lucky to have them in Springfield. I feel that I really need to update this review. My only regret is that I can't add another star to my previous review! Picture this: It's Christmas morning. Everything is closed for the holiday and will remain closed through the weekend. You sit down for an early Christmas dinner (my family is old. we eat our holiday meals at noon) and on the third bite... *crack* My tooth broke in half when I accidentally bit into something hard. I freaked. Half my tooth is gone, the fragile part that remains will most certainly not survive the long weekend without some attention. I immediately left a message at the Capati dental office, but was pretty sure it would at least be Monday before I heard from them, which would have been completely understandable considering the holiday. To my surprise, less than an hour later (yes, on Christmas!) I was contacted by Dr. Capati who scheduled me an emergency appointment for the following morning. He would have even let me come in that day, but I wanted to respect his need for a holiday. I arrive at his office the next morning, and it was clear I was going to need a crown. However, I was also 5 days away from my company provided dental insurance kicking in, which would make a substantial difference in my out-of-pocket costs ($100 w/ the insurance, $1,100 without). He took a look and assured me that while it's not a long lasting solution, he would be able to add a temporary filling at a very low cost, and then schedule me for the real work after the first of the year when my insurance would be very beneficial. To top it all off, I learned while there for my emergency appointment that Dr. Capati actually closes down his office for a week or two around the holidays to give his employees a well deserved break with their families, but he stuck around to personally handle the emergencies, for which I was the 5th person he had seen under such circumstances that week. What an awesome guy to treat his staff with such respect, and what a compassionate and savvy dentist to not only take care of me in an emergency while giving up his holiday weekend to do so, ant then to even go so far as to help me maximize my insurance benefits and propose a solution that saved me about $1,000. Dr. Capati did such a nice job with my four year old son who was very nervous. He was patient, calm, and didn't give anything but a supportive disposition the whole entire time. The office was very clean, and welcoming. Very nice chair side manner. Was able to complete a tricky procedure with very little trouble at all. Would recommend him to anyone. read more

I have a new dentist after my experience with Dr. Capati. I had had a toothache for several days while I was out of town that Tylenol and Advil didn't even begin to touch. When I returned home I called my regular dentist in extreme pain begging for an appointment that day. My regular dentist wouldn't see me. I looked online and found several strong reviews for Dr. Capati so I called his office. I explained I was in pain but not one of his normal patients. They said come at noon and he would get me in. I know that was probably his lunch hour. Long story short he figured out which tooth was the problem and did a root canal right then. No more pain for me. By the way my regular dentist called me the next day and said they would be able to see me that day. I told them I found another dentist to take care of it. Then they said well we will see you for your regular cleaning in August. I told them no I found a permanent new dentist. read more

I just got done with part two of a root canal. I am not an easy patient to work on due to my high anxiety, but Dr. Capati and everyone in the office was very understanding and patient with me. I was given nitrous oxide to help me calm down and any time I needed to take a break Dr. Capati had me raise my hand and backed off immediately. My mother came with me for my appointment today and was so impressed with the staff that she is changing dentists and will now be seen by Dr. Capati as well. 5 out of 5, I couldn't be more happier. My seven year old daughter broke a tooth the first day of a week long vacation in Springfield. I called Dr. Capati's emergency number (it was after hours) and he cheerfully offered to meet us in 30 minutes. He was very friendly and professional. He explained the process to my daughter in a way she understood and that put her mind at ease. I was impressed with his ability to complete the process without assistance and so well. I had been putting off going to the dentist for about 2 years because I knew I needed a couple of things done and it would be costly and also because I have not had great experiences at the dentist. My boyfriend told me about Dr. Capati, and I planned to make an appointment but again procrastinated. My tooth broke off and so I called Dr. Capati's office and then got me in immediately. The first day I went, they took a complete set of x-rays and he examined my teeth. Long story short, it's a good thing that I went when I did. I need much work done and the first thing I had done was a root canal and crown. All was done in one appointment! I didn't feel a thing with the root canal or any pain during the entire procedure. I got to leave with a perfect tooth and the fact that they make the crown in-house the same day is awesome! Also, he is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and explains in detail everything that is going on and needs repaired. His entire staff is amazing, and I can't say enough great things about Dr. Capati!
