Ernie discussed everything that would be needed to get the job done the right way and cost effectively upfront. Ernie is one of the nicest guys out there and takes pride in his work. He and his guys are trustworthy and worked diligently to get my kitchen in working order as fast as possible. They tried to keep the mess to a minimum and left everything just like they found it. I had to have new subflooring and when Ernie went under the house to investigate he pointed out a foundation crack that I wasn't aware of. I got the feeling the he cared as much about my house as I did. Throughout the entire process Ernie would meet with, text or call me to advise me of any issues and how to best address them. Once the work was completed Ernie did a walk through with me to ensure that I was happy with how everything looked and functioned. Ernie even went to several different lumber suppliers to find the exact threshold that would look the best between the kitchen and the dining room. He was referred to me by my parents who had him do an immaculate repair job in their crawl space. He and his guys can handle about anything that is needed around the house or advise on a specialist who can. I will absolutely be calling him for any future repairs in the future. I really have trouble understanding where some of these reviews are coming from.

Sadly, this was a situation of being absurdly and overly judgmental with an undertone of mild arrogance. This man basically seems to be trying to talk me out of wanting to use his company. Now understand, I live in a nice neighborhood, my home is the 'not so great' one of the area. It is a 200+k, 2000sq ft house that needs many repairs, which I am starting to address after 20 years of ownership and raising children for 25 years. Ernie could not seem to help himself but to point out every little problem and imperfection he saw that had nothing to do with why he was at my home. He was so insultingly judgmental that I would not use his company even if he gave me a $1.00 estimate for repairs. I was inches from asking him to leave. He made absurd statements, ex. The amount of stuff in my house, furniture and boxes and possessions was making my floors sag (he seemed obsessed with the amount of things I had) . . . well, when I bought the home 20 years ago I knew of the problem as it had already starting. I could forgive him for talking to me like I was an idiot because he doesn't know my level knowledge in reference to home repairs and building, but his obsession with picking my home apart was asinine and bullsh*t. At the end of his visit, the whole time he was talking to me about planning and possible pricing, he was constantly looking at my foyer ceiling that I had torn out to reach an upstairs leak. This guy is rude and frankly Ernie, if you don't live in at least a 500+k house and have $1m in liquid assets, maybe stop looking down your nose at and acting like you're better than others. Don't assume things about people you don't know, especially those you want money from . . . it was so very obvious; I guess he couldn't help yourself. NOTE: He never went under the house to check what needed to be done, he whined about mosquitoes in my shaded damp backyard (as much rain had fallen over the prior 2 weeks), he gawked at my ceiling almost (endlessly), my kitchen, the amount of stuff that I owned or was storing. . . he spent little time on why I made the appointment to begin with. I should have checked Yelp first and saved myself some time. Note: It's pretty bad when someone is talking to you for a minute or two and is constantly looking elsewhere while doing so . . . in this case, my torn out 3'x6' foyer ceiling. Wow!! BTW: This might sound nit-picky, but I should have known immediately when he called and said he was on his way. I asked him "how long will you be", his answer was "around 10am" . . . that did not answer my question as I was not next to a clock and I had no idea of the current time. That is the answer to when he would arrive, not how long until he arrives. People that can't answer a simple question properly, normally don't get better from there. So, I have to assume that I wasn't the right kind of person for him! Maybe my wallet or checkbook didn't look thick enough? Maybe I didn't look to have deep enough pockets, IDK? I do not recommend this guy and/or his company. I have been on this earth for more than a half a century and have never ever felt so uncomfortable or judged in any other situation ever. You should steer clear

Daniel came to my home promptly, evaluated the situation, charged a reasonable price, and completed the labor all within the span of a few hours. Very happy with the work performed. Now no one will fall off our stairs due to a wobbly railing! Daniel and his co-worker who assisted were professional, efficient, and understanding of my needs. They never used a single drop of Ceramic Coating on that truck. I paid for Ceramic Coating and did not get it. Be sure you get what you pay for if you use these guys. They lost a customer with me. Fowlers did give us a prompt refund regarding the issues mentioned after we emailed them…read more Because they did not fix the work when we originally brought it up on site and due to another incident on site, we did not feel comfortable asking them to come back and fix the work they did poorly the first time. After multiple discoveries racking up in cost, we finally decided to email them. They were prompt with a response and a refund. We only asked for a refund for the work we found problems with, which was roughly 1/3 of the cost we paid for all of the work that they did.

Johnathan and his Team's charm and professionalism was just beyond. They were there before we woke up and stayed several times after 5pm. We needed our basement refinished after some water damage and demo a French Drian was installed. They installed new stairs, framing, electrical and dry wall. Not to mention jacking up our house to replace the main joist! We're amazed at how he was able to maximize the space for the area we wanted. We were able to comfortably work out little changes along the way. Johnathan said to me at one point " I want it to look like it would in my own home!" I really could go on and on. I procrastinated a few days because I was skeptical. Other recommendations for basic handyman services and concrete work were horrible disappointments and I could not risk anyone incompetent working on my front door. I needed someone who truly knew what they were doing and what would be needed if complications happened. I called Nick with NCF Home Improvements. He made an appointment with me a few days later. I sent him a few pictures prior to the appointment. He showed up on time and told me exactly what was needed. As soon as I met him, I knew I had made the right choice. He quoted me a fair price and gave me a time frame. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from him as soon as I did. He picked up the supplies that were necessary, including the new door and knob/lock and kept me in the loop every step of the way. He took the time to show me what had made the existing door such a problem in the first place. Nick was professional, pleasant to deal with and actually looked and acted like he knew what he was doing! He was composed and didn't get thrown off balance when a few unexpected challenges came up. Nick had all the tools necessary and accomplished an amazing job with perfect clean up. I could not be more satisfied! I am excited to be able to use my front door again! The door looks good and because of all the extra steps he had to take due to previous poor building choices, it is now the way it should have been! The door fits like a glove and opens and closes nicely. Such an impressive job. I felt like Nick went above and beyond what he quoted but he would not accept any additional money. I will definitely use him in the future and if you have a home project, kitchen or bathroom remodeling, door replacement, deck or stair building, or anything related to a home, give him a call! I wish other companies would take a lesson from Nick. He has set the bar way up!

I recently had a chance to work with NCF Home Improvements for a small project in my home. As a…read morecity dweller in a historic home, closet space is always an issue. I needed to revamp the closet in my daughter's room to maximize the space in there. I knew I needed to change the door for better access, but other than that, I didn't have a lot of ideas. I called NCF for a consultation and we set up a convenient time. Nick arrived promptly and listened to my concerns. He then made several suggestions about what could be done to maximize the space. Ultimately, I decided to change the door, add custom shelving and raise the clothing bar. Nick made the great suggestion that if I was planning to use baskets or containers on the shelving, that I find those first to make sure they fit properly. He submitted a written estimate shortly after that meeting and we scheduled the work for the following week. Again, he arrived promptly and completed everything in the same day. He also had the forethought to leave the top shelf unsecured so that I could remove it in the future if space required it. When I checked the work before he left, I asked if we could change the position of the clothes bar to allow for more bulky items. "No problem" was the response and he took care of it. I'm thrilled with the end result and highly recommend his services.
